It works great, I wasn't happy that the big one was dented when I took it out of the box. When you pay that much for something, it shouldn't be dented when you get it. If I was at home, I would include a picture.

    • Fills Up Fast Good for small areas
Sometimes this is very hard to remove the bag. Because it is square not oval things tend to get stuck and it makes it really difficult to change out the trash bag. I previously had an oval automatic one that stopped working. Pros 1. compact 2. fits regular size kitchen bags 3. sensor works great 4. no odor has a nice odor control packet cons seems small even through it fits 13 gal gets full really quick hard to remove bag it gets stuck a lot - quite annoying ... show more

    • Stinky Garbage Begone!
These garbage cans were worth every penny! I live in a hot climate where the heat used to make our garbage reek in a matter of a day or two. We tried scented bags and other cans that claimed to keep the stink to a minimum, but none have ever worked to this level. The sleekness of this can also keeps the kitchen looking clean as opposed to the big rubber can appearance. It blends in really well. The motion sensor is also really nice because we only have to wave over it once to open the lid unlike other cans we've had. The battery life also seems to be going super strong. We're still on the same set we put in when we first bought it several months ago now and so I'm really pleased with that. I will eventually switch all of our garbage cans to this style. While I spent more on this product than others, it was definitely worth the extra investment . ... show more

    • One tap of the lid and it’s broken.
This was great, until my kid tapped down the lid once. Now it’s broken. Does not open. Not cool.

    • It's the best trashcan I've ever purchased.
I know saying this is the best trashcan sounds like over-hype but it isn't. Based on previous cans I've owned this one is best. I love that it is stainless steel easy to clean. It holds my 13-gal bags without slipping because it comes with a gadket thingy that holds it in place. The motion sensor is not too sensitive that it will open with a subtle wave of the hand AND stay open just long enough for me to scoop my trash into it before it softly closes. The battery lasts a very long time. In fact, I have owned mine for nearly 18 months and still haven't replaced the batteries. Oh, and when the bag is full, there are tiny holes in the bottom of the can that allow just enough air in to help release the bag as you lift it out. The mini can is small enough to hold a plastic shopping bag and your basic bathroom trash but functions just as the bigger model does. The only thing that would make this better would be some smart feature that would tell my son, through Alexa, that it's time to empty it. Perhaps in the future. ... show more

    • Motion detection doesn't respond well
While this trash can seems smaller than my similar one that I had to replace, the smaller size is not really the issue that bugs me. What I have a problem with is the fact that the motion detector does not work very well. One has to nearly put your hand or other solid object right up on top of the sensor before it will trigger the lid to open. Usually, I end up having the lid hit my hand or the solid object as soon as it opens because my hand is so close to the lid just to trigger it. In some ways, it negates the whole idea of the motion detection feature because if you try to trigger it by holding your hand or an object six inches away from the can, it will not trigger it to open. You must be between an inch or two of the can to get it to trigger the lid to open. That's why the lid, which opens rather quickly, ends up striking you before you can move your hand out of the way. So if you have to put your hand so close to the lid of the can to get it to open, you might as well go ahead and press the button to open the lid. The motion detector just doesn't work well, and sometimes, even when you try to trigger it from up close, it still does not open the lid. I have on a few occasions had to press the open button just so I could get the garbage in my hands into the trash can. I have no patience for devices that do not work as they are purported to work in their product description. This one is not that responsive and the range of the motion detection ability is so limited, it almost makes it not worth the effort -- and therefore, not worth the purchase price.
