My pity had a habit of breaking into the trash so I bought this and they don't even try to knock it over it's got a good section seal on it so none of my animals have been able to break into the trash since I got this, caution moving forward you will waive your hand over non-electronic trash cans so you look like a goober but I loved this trash can it really made all the difference in the world. Great garbage can, but the supposedly "free" odor eliminator that you can send for came with a $3.07 postage due.

    • Sort of small for 13 gallon
Product arrived undamaged and looks great cosmetically. Sensor and lid function perfect as it should being brand new. What we do see is that it is substantially smaller than our old 13 gallon auto can. A 13 gallon bag cannot be filled to the max as the can won't allow it. Once we pulled a full bag out the contents dropped to about 2/3 of a bag. Not a big deal as we normally have a few more things that can go in it afterward but you might find it fitting less than you thought. ... show more

    • Great can but the odor part is pointless
We have multiple dogs and one just would not stop getting in the trash when we left. I got this can and it stopped them without issue. The lock is great for dogs. My dogs have never gone as far as knocking the can over but the lid would probably come off if they tried that, but the lock works great. The odor filter was just useless. The one that came with the can lasted a few days and didn’t actually absorb smells, it just masked them. I ordered replacements but they didn’t absorb either. The sensor itself was great for about a month and a half but it one day just stopped. I did all your basic troubleshooting steps, so no I didn’t just have dead batteries. The sensor itself still activated but it sounds like the motor just stopped working so of course, no motor no lid lifting. If the lid doesn’t give out, and your dogs aren’t terrorists, and you aren’t worried about a normal trash smell, then this is actually a really sturdy can and the locking lid is still a plus even without the motor. UPDATE:: The product comes with a 1 year warranty so after reviewing it I went to their website and told them the issue. They responding quickly, first giving me a way to reset the motor if it was able to be reset, which it wasn’t, so they quickly put in an order to send me a replacement lid.     • Confusing, but Serves a Purpose
We bought this specifically to keep the dogs out of the trash. We've paid probably $400 in the last 2.5 years for different trash cans. This one seemed to be the light at the end of the tunnel. The lock is great. It's nice that it can run on batteries or an A/C adapter, but it would have been nicer if it actually came with the adapter....... Also, it's not as sturdy as it looks. Even our little schnauzer is able to knock it over without much effort, regardless of how full. Looks like our next step is a pull-out trash can system. Shewww ... show more
