This gauge set is much heavier and more robust than I expected. It has a nice heft to it and the steel is 1/16" thick. It has a quality feel to it. The stamped sizes are a hard to read but I don't care because the gauges are color coded. All 8 gauges are thicker than their stamped measurement by about 0.3mm (maybe from the paint which seems thick and durable) but I'd rather have it this way than undersized. ... show more

The first time I purchased this profile it it arrived with 2 5mm gauges and no 6mm gauge. But that problem was taken care of rather quick and I was very happy with the customer service. The paint is a little thick, I found it to be worth it to check the thickness with a micrometer and a quick trip to the bench grinder. The paint is too thick and makes it harder to use than plastic ones but you can drop this one all day with no ill effect
