Used this Koopool eccentric flaring tool to flare the 1/4" and 1/2" copper linesets on a mini-split a/c we installed at our house. The only thing you need to do is properly position the tubing in the flair form. Hard to not make a perfect flare with this tool. I see little difference between this Koopool and many other eccentric flare tools for sale on Amazon for $25-$50. For the price, highly recommend!

The image on the left is the flare result from a conventional flaring tool, the image on the right is from this product, an eccentric flaring tool. The conventional flaring system " smashes " the material into a ridge aka nub. It might work, but it doesn't " bell out" the material as you see on the right. The eccentric tool " rolls " the material out as the flaring surface moves around with the point/center slightly off center in a circular motion. Rather than flaring by compression, it rolls the material out into a flare/bell fashion. Think of it in terms such as carefully putting a hat on your head or running into a brick wall full force. Politically, this is democracy, freedom compared to rule by fiat. Maybe those aren't ideal examples but, after seeing poor results with a traditional flaring tool, it sures seems to fit. If you have flaring projects, buy this tool. You'll never go back to the old system. A couple of minor pointers,;you'll need to slip the flaring device over the black holder with the other end open. Have your flaring tool and engagement lock backed off to avoid getting hung up. Be sure to put the tubing into the correct size slot and double check that your flaring tool is locked into the right position by the positioning screw/clamp. Watch the protrusion of the material beyond the surface before locking and flaring. Most smaller tubing should be around 1/64 of an inch. Flare all the way until you feel the clutch mechanism pop. Back everything off, remove the device and start bragging to your friends. Just don't say, " I've got a flare for it " Most people don't pick up on plumbing cliches.

But the clamp needs the paint removed where it clamps onto your material because it causes a slight deformation

Bought this to flare copper refrigeration tubing on mini-split installation. The clamping bar won't hold the 1/4 inch tubing in place. When you go to flare the tubing it pushes it back out of proper position. Had to slip a small piece of sandpaper in one side of the clamping bar hole to get it to hold the tube in place. No knurling or ridging in the clamp bar holes to help grip the tubing. It worked ok on larger diameter tube but a real pain on 1/4 inch, just not enough friction,clamp force to hold the tube in place. The eccentric wobble head and pressure clutch worked fine and made nice flares once you had the tube secured but the clamp bar was a disappointment.

This has to be the best flaring tool I have ever used. Makes nice smooth and even flairs that get a good seal. Built in clutch prevents bad flairs.

Unfortunately the add leads the buyer to believe that the dies are included ("KOOPOOL Eccentric Flaring Tool Kit 7 Dies, Sizes (3/16-3/4 inches) 45 Degree Angle Eccentric, etc.") which they are NOT. To be clear, the photos of the product do not show flaring dies but the way the ad is written leads one to believe that they are included and that they were simply not photographed. Otherwise the tool looks fine though I have not used it yet as the dies were not included and now I will need to order them separately. Color me disappointed.
