Cable crank is better than the pump kind which loses traction
This is beyond medical grade. Takes pressure off the C8 nerve root (between C7-T1) that was injured and under pressure. The traction provides instant relief. Allowed disc to be reabsorbed by the spine. Well constructed. Effective. Feels blissful. Four degrees of traction to choose from (10°, 13°, 15°, or 18°). Uses a cable crank mechanism, which is better than a pump (pumps lose traction, the cable crank does not). NOTE: Use two hands on the way down to SLOWLY release, and you will not have a problem. Very easy to use. Has a great carrying case for travel. I was able to avoid subdural shots as this was the mainstay of my recovery program. Updated tip: I forgot to say that use the 15° setting. When 15° or 18° is enabled, the device unfortunately lifts off the floor when traction applied, and tension is lost. To mitigate this, I use a 16kg kettlebell, looped through the handle, and I use the handle to gentle anchor down the top of the device. The weight of the KB anchors the device down, so that full desired tension can be applied. Be careful not to touch the cable mechanism with the KB so that you don't damage the cables. This works GREAT to keep the device from lifting off the floor when used at 15° or 18°.

Excellent Quality and Works WELL!
Excellent Quality and Works WELL! I researched a lot of these devices because they are PRICEY!! But when you are in pain and something can fix it or help it.....well it is WORTH the Cost if it will hold up over time. I have 2 discs in the base of my neck that are COMPRESSED and pressing on nerves so my arm and hands where not only going Totally Numb but burning and in a LOT of Pain and it was getting worse! so went to the chiropractor and along with her adjustments (using that little thumper thing not manually) she recommended Cervical Traction. I went to the Physical therapy place to price it out for a visit and see what they had avail. Well $160 PER SESSION for 15 minutes from the time you walk in to walking out. Only traction for 3 minutes. NO WAY! So I bought this device. It works GREAT!! I started with ONLY 2 Minutes 3 times per week then moved up to 3 Minutes 2-3 times per week the next week. Be sure you lie on a FLAT surface to do this not your bed! This is your NECK and ability to Move Period so do NOT use it on a SOFT Surface that you will SINK down into. Easy to use. Loved the DIAL to do the Traction. Some people say it jerks you when you are getting out of it.....well....READ the Directions.....Use Common Sense....when you are ready to RELEASE the Tension, HOLD ONTO THE DIAL with 1 hand and with the Other Hand PRESS the Red Button WHILE STILL HOLDING THE DIAL and SLOWLY ROTATE the Dial Backwards. No Jerking at all!! YOU CONTROL the Timing of the Release of the Tension that way. I did have some trouble reading the indicator of how much tension I was using unless I had a light source right there down at my level to be able to see it. But that is minor. I just had my husband read it for me a couple of times until I knew EXACTLY How Many "Turns" of the Dial went to the Number of Tension I wanted. Now I just Count the Turns of the Dial. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Device if you READ all the Directions 1st and This Seller!!! Also the Bag that it comes with is VERY nice and makes it Easily Portable. I Could not find my pictures to go with the review but it is sturdy. Love it.

Misleading Product - Not Close to Woth the Money
I have a bulging disc in my spine and this was similar to a device I use at PT. I thought with it being so expensive, it would be better than the one they use there that isn't as comfortable. I was wrong. This one is more comfortable, but the ratcheting system they use instead of hydrolic is incredibly inconsistent. Once I get past 15 "pound of pressure", nothing feels different. There is no way this item goes up to "50 pounds of pressure" indicated on its control dial. I've decided to give it time and try to work the the product, but I'm in too much pain to pay this much money and not have the device work as advertised. Edit: this device is now broken. Its dial that indicates the pressure no longer moves and I have to unwind the control device all the way just to get it to pull up. It's broken now and I have no idea why. It will be unfortunately returned. It's only benefit is it's comfort and carrying case.

A great neck traction machine
I have suffered with neck pain for years and it got to the point where I have a pinched nerve in my left arm. I found this traction machine on Amazon so I figured I would give it a try. The first use got rid of the pinched nerve in my arm! Of course it was only temporary so I continued to use it on a daily basis for pain relief. I am seeing an orthopedic doctor but still, this machine is worth every penny. I only use it set to 15 lbs of stretch for 10 to 15 minutes a day and it’s been an incredible relief for my pain. If you suffer with neck pain, try this. You just might be amazed. Oh, and it has a great carrying case when you are not using it or want to travel with it.

It works
Years ago when I was told I had a stenosis in my neck, the doctors gave me a neck stretcher who’s works by air pressure. My neck got better so I gave it away. Recently my neck got worse so I found this at Amazon. All neck stretchers are hard to use as as you apply pressure, your neck tends to lift off the base. This device has an interesting cable system which allows you to crank up the pressure slowly to set levels. It works as well as the air system and costs $100 less

Great product for neck !!

All headache and virtually no traction.
This appears to be a quality product but did not work for me. Traction was totally insufficient and gave me an instant headache with the pressure applied to the base of my skull. About the time you're just about to apply traction, it's at its max tension. The little cradle for your skull begins to apply a lot of pressure at the base of your skull. Not for me.
