There are tons of reviews out there to describe what it can do, what its great for, and what it may not be suitable for. This new generation responds faster and more naturally, is more powerful and lasts longer on a charge using the same battery. Like other similar exoskeletons, this is not a medical device nor is it designed to help you exercise. Rather, its intent is to help you do your normal stuff with less exertion so you can do it more comfortably or for longer durations. The product overall looks very similar and does the same basic stuff. You strap it on your waist and the top of your legs and it helps lift your legs up while walking, running, cycling, etc. to reduce the amount of effort you have to exert. It feels a bit weird at first but you quickly get used to it and it really works! This new model as compared to the one I previously used has a lot of improvements that make it that much more helpful and comfortable. The design is the essentially the same, but the padding is much more comfortable. The motors have higher torque so they can provide even more assistance all while being more efficient so the battery lasts longer. There is a new AI-based algorithm that responds to your movements faster so the whole thing feels a lot more natural. Basically, everything is just amped up so it feels even more like an extension of your own muscles helping do the work. For most uses, you just strap it on, turn it on and do your normal stuff but will less exertion. The batteries for this model are fully compatible with the prior model as well. If you’re upgrading, you can share your existing batteries. As with the prior model, the battery must be attached to the exoskeleton frame to be charged unless you get the optional multi-battery charging accessory that can charge up to 4 batteries at the same time separately from the frame. The controls for this one are also the same so you won’t need to learn anything new if you’re already comfortable with the prior model. If you’re not upgrading and this is your first Hypershell exoskeleton, the controls are simple but need a little time to get comfortable with them. The free app can control every aspect of the exoskeleton, but there’s also a single button and a group of lights on the right hip joint so you can do the basics without pulling out your phone. It will probably become second-nature after a few minutes of experience with the controls. Accessories that come with things like this are often overlooked but even those have been greatly improved. Firstly, the prior model came with a USB-C charging cable but no charger. This new model still comes with a cable but also includes a high-power global USB adapter that can be used to quickly charge up your included battery just about anywhere in the world. The carrying case is vastly improved as well. The prior model’s case was compressed foam like the inside of a bike helmet. Plastic clasps held the lid closed but were not very solid. This new molded plastic case is smaller, more secure, has a full zipper to keep it sealed up and even comes with a detachable shoulder strap. Inside the case are velcro straps that hold an optional spare battery in its designated spot and keep the exoskeleton firmly in place. If this is your first exoskeleton, you can’t go wrong with this model. It fits most people comfortably and provides a noticeable assist for those long or arduous journeys. If you already have a prior model and are considering this as an upgrade, you will definitely appreciate the improvements in comfort, motor torque and battery life as well as how much more natural the assistance is.
