This is a very cute little table and chairs set! The framework is powder coated steel and will surely hold up and still look good for many years to come. The chairs are simple straight back chairs with an X-frame back and an engineered wood flat seat. The wood seat is OK, but I think it will be more comfortable to sit on with a cushion. The X-frame back is slightly curved, but if you are going to sit for long periods of time, a cushion for the back would probably be a welcome addition. The larger round tubular table legs bolt into a square frame that gives it added stability. It has a unique spring hinge that allows you to drop each of 4 sides down to save space, or lock them in place in the up position to have a larger table surface. The light natural look finish is beautiful and is perfect for a cheerful breakfast nook. This is a sturdy and cute dining set for smaller spaces at a reasonable price. It can be used indoors or out, as long as the set is under a covered area. I don’t think it would last for years if exposed to the elements all the time.

The dining set arrived with chipped paint and bent metal in a couple of pieces. Some metal pieces have very thin coats of paint so you can see the metal still showing. The square tubes are thin, and you can feel them giving way as you lean your back on them. I would hesitate to put full weight on the backrests. The hinges underneath protrude way below the surface and are highly visible. The extensions do not line up properly and so the surface is uneven. A couple of bolts would not screw in properly and threads were stripped. It definitely does not meet the expectations one would get by reading the Vine customer reviews and the descriptions. I guess you get what you pay for, but my prior dining set was at a similar price point and the quality was so much better.

I would be doing this a disservice if I didn’t start off with the quality of this set. It’s very sturdy and the fit and finish is on point. The attention to detail in both the build and in the assembly is very nice. The quality instructions made this build very easy. The fold down sides are a nice touch but are also the one area that I have a problem with on this set. When the sides are folded down you can’t sit at that side of the table because your legs can’t fit under. With that being said I also really like that I can fold down one side and pull the table closer to the wall. The chairs were a little work to assemble but they are super sturdy and well worth the effort. Overall this is a high quality well built set that will last a lifetime.

I love the clean, simple look of the dining table set. The style matches my work desk which is a pleasant surprise for me. It took me about two hours to assemble the whole thing. The process was straightforward, and I didn't run into any big problems. The table had to be assembled upside down but I wasn't able to turn it over on my own because it's too heavy for one person to lift. So make sure you have someone to help you when it’s done. The finished products feel sturdy and look really nice in my small apartment. There is however a design flaw like the other reviewer had mentioned. The folding part is for space-saving only, and you will have to unfold it in order to use the table.
