First Impressions I brought her home, pressed start, and she immediately strutted through the house like a realtor on a mission—mapping everything out, silently judging my floor plan, and deciding where the trouble spots were. That first trip wasn’t about cleaning, it was reconnaissance. She was basically drawing up her battle plans. The Real Test On the second run, I told her to deep clean and mop. Look—she’s not perfect. If you’re expecting her to get down on hands and knees and scrub like Cinderella, temper those expectations. But she absolutely cut my maintenance cleaning in half. Crumbs, dust, light mop marks—it all looked noticeably fresher without me lifting a finger. The Battery Drama She did run out of juice after her first room. I thought, “Welp, that’s it.” Nope. She casually rolled herself back to the dock, had a little recharge spa session, and then—while I was out for the night—she finished the entire house. I came home to clean floors like some kind of sorcery. Features That Actually Work AutoWash Dock: Empties herself, washes her mop pads, even dries them. Basically does her own laundry. Self-cleaning & pad-lift: No dragging dirty mop pads across my floor. LiDAR navigation: She doesn’t bumble around like a drunk toddler. She knows exactly where she’s going. Alexa integration: “Alexa, tell my cleaning lady to get to work”—and boom, she’s on it. Zero issues with the app setup either. Pros Maps the house intelligently—first run is basically reconnaissance. Vacuums and mops in one go. Dock takes care of the dirty work (literally). Recharges mid-job and finishes without babysitting. Works seamlessly with Alexa. Cons Doesn’t fold laundry. (Yet.)     • Major (times a million) disappointment
This thing is crap. Thought I was upgrading from the J7 model but this thing has been nothing but frustrating to the point I want to chunk it in the trash. I ordered one from a different brand and won't buy another iRobot product again even though I've owned 3 or 4 of them over the last 15 years. For context I have vinyl floors and only one rug in the entryway, 2 dogs with one of them shedding like a husky, so I'm used to cleaning the dustbins and filters and checking around the rollers for dog hair from my previous models. I've also had to tear apart several of the robots I've owned to deep clean when they hit the unspeakable droppings that furry friends can sometimes leave behind at times. So I have a decent understanding of these things. -I have to restart the robot almost everytime I go to use it -I have to keep an eye on it to make sure it does the job -The Roomba Home app is complete garbage -It struggles with wifi even though I live in the country and my phone tries to connect to my router from a quarter mile away -IT WON'T ACTUALLY VACUUM! It worked okay at first, but now it won't even suck up dust even though you can hear the vacuum motor come on and I have it set to the highest suction setting with 2 passes. I have checked and rechecked the filter and around the brushes and the passage between the brushes and bin, in essence everything I can without being an iRobot tech. I throw in here a last note: It's possible I got one that was defective, but I missed the return window because I was trying to tough it out and thought maybe I wasn't using it correctly since I had to switch to their new app. So now I'm stuck with it, and I don't even want to sell it to someone or give it away. ... show more

    • Worth every penny!
Great time saver and does a superb job of vacuuming and wet mopping my LVP floors. Use it daily as my dog sheds hair like crazy. Set up is super easy; plug in, put clean water in the clean tank and once it’s charged, it’s ready to clean! To set automations you need to download the app but it’s free and easy to use. There is no printed user guide or manual - it also needs to be downloaded or viewed on line. It’s one of my peeves. I’m 66 and learn better by reading & reviewing written instructions. However, the new app is easy to use even without reading instructions. This was an upgrade from my older iRobot that I bought 6 yrs ago and which now cleans my garage. The new model is so much quieter and the lydar mapping is more accurate. I love that it also dries the mop pads once done and compensates for rugs automatically by raising the wet floor pads and only vacuuming the rugs. My biggest complaint is that iRobot put this same make and model on sale for $200.00 less than what I bought it for on Amazon within days of my purchase. Still, no regrets! ... show more

    • Finicky at first but after, excellent!
All in all decent robot, had a mapping issue at first where my couch would mess up the spinning LiDAR sensor on top and it would stop moving but after contacting support they recommended blocking off the couch and now it works wonderfully. Vacuums and mops excellently, only drawback is when it mops it sometimes leaves marks like it just spins the dirt around rather mopping it up. Would be a 5/5 if not for that and the mapping issues.
