Great purchase! It is worth every penny! The set up was extra easy, setting up the application on my phone to get the iRobot to work was easy and now cleaning is flawless!! It goes through every single spot in the house! It goes on top of the carpets without any problem, but if it is mopping it doesn't go on the carpet! The noise level is not to high unless it comes back to the charging station to empty itself, but it doesn't take too long! I would not use at night time! One of the worst purchases I've ever made. First three months, great experience. Zero issues ever. Since? Let me list: - Vacuum turns itself on and begins re mapping the house. I wake up to two or three new maps. - Vacuum randomly decides to mop the house, with no automation and no input from me. - When I give it a manual job, it will go to that room, Vacuum or mop for a few seconds, then "return to pad wash" over and over until it kills its own battery and never completes its job. - I've had to factory reset it a half dozen times. - It drags an EXCESSIVE amount of water around the house. Like, unreasonable. Actual puddles of water around the base, random puddles around my house. - It shoves its own base around and then can't get back into it. In some cases its shoved the base a full 90 degrees against the wall. - It gets caught VERY EASILY on rugs. It folds them up and tangles itself and you have to fix it. When this happens it restarts its entire routine instead of picking up where it left off. - It gets stuck under chairs. - It gets stuck on the base of my coat rack. - The "cumulative duration" showed 38 million hours, which is about 4,300 years its been operating in my house. This is a horrible product and I'd like a full refund tbh but I know that won't happen. Every time I try to reach out to customer service I get the automated system (chat and phone) that sends me in circles and I never talk to a human. The only way this would be a useful product is if you have a completely empty house and never use the mop features. ... show more

The G135 combo is SPECTACULAR. I love how she runs. She is powerful. It talks out loud to tell you what it’s going to do like “returning to dock to charge” or “starting cleaning” etc I have the app on my phone to tell the robot what to do. It made a map of my entire apartment. It knows the difference between carpet and hard floor for the purpose of mopping or vacuuming or both. The battery life is quite long as well, usually lasting about 2.5 hours to deep clean all my rooms, and still returning to the dock with around 72% charge left. It rarely gets stuck and usually finds its way out of tricky areas, but if it can’t; sends a message to my phone via the iRobot app saying “roomba needs some help” which I find adorable. My roomba, I named Machina, (because the app actually prompts you to give it a name during the registration process) usually only gets stuck if I leave clothes or charging cords on the floor. The value for the price is outstanding as well! I really enjoy the self emptying features and how it changes its own water, and lets me know when the tank or vacuum bag is getting full! I would 💯 recommend the iRobot Roomba Plus 405 G135!!! Outstanding job on this one!! Saves me a LOT of time and energy doing all the floor stuff for me!! ... show more

It does a decent job. It doesn’t not mop really great. I would not rely on it to replace regular mopping. I still mop every week just to make sure my floors are getting decently clean.     • Major (times a million) disappointment

This thing is crap. Thought I was upgrading from the J7 model but this thing has been nothing but frustrating to the point I want to chunk it in the trash. I ordered one from a different brand and won't buy another iRobot product again even though I've owned 3 or 4 of them over the last 15 years. For context I have vinyl floors and only one rug in the entryway, 2 dogs with one of them shedding like a husky, so I'm used to cleaning the dustbins and filters and checking around the rollers for dog hair from my previous models. I've also had to tear apart several of the robots I've owned to deep clean when they hit the unspeakable droppings that furry friends can sometimes leave behind at times. So I have a decent understanding of these things. -I have to restart the robot almost everytime I go to use it -I have to keep an eye on it to make sure it does the job -The Roomba Home app is complete garbage -It struggles with wifi even though I live in the country and my phone tries to connect to my router from a quarter mile away -IT WON'T ACTUALLY VACUUM! It worked okay at first, but now it won't even suck up dust even though you can hear the vacuum motor come on and I have it set to the highest suction setting with 2 passes. I have checked and rechecked the filter and around the brushes and the passage between the brushes and bin, in essence everything I can without being an iRobot tech. I throw in here a last note: It's possible I got one that was defective, but I missed the return window because I was trying to tough it out and thought maybe I wasn't using it correctly since I had to switch to their new app. So now I'm stuck with it, and I don't even want to sell it to someone or give it away.     • Painful set up process and virtually no guidance from iRobot

I had a Eufy RoboVac for years—utterly dependable and, best of all, truly plug-and-play. Unfortunately, it eventually died. I replaced it with an iRobot Roomba Combo i4+ thinking it would be an upgrade. So far, I honestly cannot say that it is, mainly because after two full days, I am still stuck in the painful setup process. To begin with, the product comes with no real quick-start instructions. There’s no proper printed guide—just a downloadable PDF that functions mostly as a parts catalog. It does not explain how to actually operate the device or to set it up. More importantly, what they do not tell you is that the Roomba must map every room you want cleaned before it can actually clean such rooms. Until at least one room is mapped to the robot’s satisfaction, the Roomba will not start cleaning at all—it will simply beep errors and return (or attempt to return) to the dock. The mop feature is also disabled until a usable map exists. This is a major negative for users like me who want to test the product straight out of the box to ensure it works properly within the return window. At the very least, there should be a test mode. You also cannot map only a small section as a trial run, because the mapping process requires the Roomba to successfully return to its dock to be complete. If it fails, and you manually place it back into the mapped space, it spins around trying to “recalibrate,” becomes confused, and starts beeping errors again. In theory, you could move the dock into each room you want mapped, but in a small apartment such as mine that simply isn’t feasible. Eventually, I managed to map a portion of one room, which finally “unlocked” the cleaning features. However, neither the robot nor the app provided any hint that this is the required process. The app doesn’t even gray out the cleaning options until the map is complete—you’re left to figure this out on your own (I only learned this after asking ChatGPT). Further, to start the cleaning process, you have to go into the app and select the room that was mapped and then select the cleaning process desired-something neither the app nor the guide tells you. While the Roomba now appears to clean the portion of the room that I mapped, I still don’t consider setup complete. I will apparently need to repeat this tedious mapping cycle for every additional room. It’s also unclear whether the robot will reliably find its dock from other rooms, a requirement for completing each mapping run. Moving the dock to each room would appear to confuse it further and triggers yet another recalibration. Then there’s the app—one of the worst I’ve used. It’s glitchy, unclear, and fails to communicate the steps the user must follow. For a company that once pioneered the consumer robot vacuum space, it’s surprising how little thought went into the user interface and overall experience. It feels like something designed entirely from an engineering perspective, with little consideration for how customers actually interact with the product. Simple, customer-friendly improvements—such as including a real quick-start guide, explaining the mandatory mapping requirement, or redesigning the app to guide users through setup—would solve a huge amount of frustration. The fact that the Roomba cannot function at all until mapping is complete, and that this requirement is never communicated, is a significant failure in my opinion. ... show more

Great time saver and does a superb job of vacuuming and wet mopping my LVP floors. Use it daily as my dog sheds hair like crazy. Set up is super easy; plug in, put clean water in the clean tank and once it’s charged, it’s ready to clean! To set automations you need to download the app but it’s free and easy to use. There is no printed user guide or manual - it also needs to be downloaded or viewed on line. It’s one of my peeves. I’m 66 and learn better by reading & reviewing written instructions. However, the new app is easy to use even without reading instructions. This was an upgrade from my older iRobot that I bought 6 yrs ago and which now cleans my garage. The new model is so much quieter and the lydar mapping is more accurate. I love that it also dries the mop pads once done and compensates for rugs automatically by raising the wet floor pads and only vacuuming the rugs. My biggest complaint is that iRobot put this same make and model on sale for $200.00 less than what I bought it for on Amazon within days of my purchase. Still, no regrets! ... show more

The unit we had received the first time had to be sent back from where it was malfunctioning out of the box. It took over three weeks for Amazon and iRobot to exchange the unit. We then received the 2nd one, and it worked well and programmed well out of the box. The only issue we have is that the schedule software in the app does not work at all for setting up an auto schedule, as it says it will do as a selling feature of the unit. You have to tell the iRobot Roomba to go sweep or mop each time you want the machine to perform its duty. Other than those two issues, the Roomba sweeps well, mops well, and most certainly knows where steps are located, staying away from them. It also knows the difference between carpeted areas and bare floor areas quite well, to our surprise. The only issue was the return forever taking place on the first one and the no scheduling of duty works on the phone app for Roomba. The scheduling was a feature we would have appreciated but not worth the effort to talk to their support, as the speaking of English is very limited, which is very frustrating, so to go around that, we just remember to tell Roomba when to mop and sweep. All other functions work very well, and the app is nice too. It performs well, emptying its sweeper into the dock and drawing its water from the water/cleaner reservoir at the docking station. The app tells you all about Roomba's health and functions. The app even displays a map where Roomba has gone and is going in progress. ... show more
