I ordered this to use with my new lithium battery setup on my Club Car golf cart. I wanted an easy way to see the voltage and remaining charge while driving. The price was good, and I liked that it was waterproof and had a buzzer alarm feature in case of low voltage. When it arrived, it was smaller than I expected but well built and easy to install. I connected the red to positive, black to negative, and mounted it with the included tape. It powered up right away and the display was bright and clear, even outdoors. After using it for a few days, I noticed the readings aren’t always very accurate. It’s fine for a general idea of battery level, but the percentage fluctuates a lot while driving and doesn’t seem realistic for short trips. For example, a full battery showing 100% can drop to 85% after just a quick ride, then go back up. Charging readings seem closer to accurate though. Overall, it’s a simple and inexpensive monitor that works, but don’t expect precision.

When I first received this product the instructions that come with it show a blue LCD screen I got worried until I actually hooked it up trust me it is a color display the instructions work it's just the picture in the book is off. I have a robot I built using a Ryobi 18 volt drill battery and I wanted to keep tabs on the battery itself how much power was left it took me a minute to set it up properly cuz there's no instructions for that kind of lithium it's not lithium-ion it's a different type of lithium but after a couple uses the smart gauge figured out the hour amps and say it took about five uses and now the gauge figured it out and it's a very trustworthy gauge and no longer have to worry about how much time I have left. Great for the beginner and for the advanced user if. If you're having problems recheck the setup if you have it right it works exactly as described

Good instrument to keep tabs on your battery. Hard to read in the sun, don’t know of a fix they could do for this. If I could read it in the sun I would have given it 5 stars.
