I benefitted greatly from reading these reviews and I wanted to share my own to help others with such a large purchase decision. The first thing I will point out is that I live in the northeast and purchased the six person hot tub, understanding the risk cold weather presents. Where I live the temp tends to get down in the 20’s at night and mid 30’s to 40’s during the day, just to give you an idea. We are on the same longitude as Washington DC or so. The first tub I purchased was the circular blue one (6 person). I came away initially very impressed with the quality of the product, then four hours later, after it was assembled and full of water, I realized it had a slow air leak. I read more reviews and found folks commenting about the inflate valve needing to be tightened, so I tried that with the wrench they provided, filled it up with air again (which is quite easy with the ingenious set-up they provide), and found it was still leaking. The valve seemed defective to me and I lost confidence. I packed it up and returned it the next day. The seller was great to work with and made it as easy as possible. If you have to return one, however, expect it to be difficult because you will never fit it back in the original packaging, and the total weight (100 plus pounds) can be hard to handle when returning via UPS Store. The seller was again very easy to work with and provided a second package label, this one for fedex pickup for the second box. So I went back to Amazon to determine replacement, because I had not given up on the product. This time I settled on the gray six person, after learning it was a newer model. This time I tightened the inflate valve before I started. This also gave me the chance to put more insulation underneath the tub. Ours sits on a concrete slab outside. I used thick wool blankets on top of the bubble sheet provided. I think the R10 foamboard would probably work great as well. I also bought a second top, and put in on top of the one provided, with more blankets in between. This helps keep the heat in, and helps the heater operate more efficiently. The top provided is nice, but I have observed the inflatable center portion isn’t large enough to plug the opening completely, so you have this ring around the outside between where the inflatable part ends and where the walls begin. Yes, it is still covered with some material and secured, but I think heat is getting out more easily here. My second attempt has turned out great. We have used it every night and really feel it is worth every penny after about two weeks. Here are a few pointers: 1). Know that their advice is not to use it under 50 degrees. If you decide to, fine, but please temper your expectations. It is 100 volt powered, which means your heater capacity will be limited. Traditional hot tubs work off 220, giving them more power out of the gates. For us, it did take three days to get over 100. After three days, we got in at 102 when I had initially set it to 104. 102 felt great to us, and it did lose about 1 degree every 10-15 minutes. If you turn the bubbles on you will lose temp even faster. Ultimately after about 45 minutes it was down to 99, then hit 98 shortly thereafter. This next part is important: the heater has a cycle setting that has it shut off (the screen says END) after 72 hours if the desired temperature was not reached within that time frame. We found this in the instructions, and I will reiterate others in saying you will need to read them many times to fully comprehend them. I am not sure why but their ordering and grouping approach around the information is a bit random, so it took me a while to fully comprehend. The quick start type instructions also have info not found in the long form instructions. What!? Anyway, after the first use, we dropped down to 98 or so again, put the top on etc, and then realized that overnight the tub had stopped heating because within 72 hours we never got as high as 104, our initial setting. Lesson learned. I can say that after this, I turned it back on and the heater did get to 104 within two days (coming up from 84). The heater is more than capable you will just have to be patient before the first use, or shoot for a lesser temp just to get it to reach it before 72 hrs. We settled on 103 ultimately, because 104 was borderline too hot for us. 2). The hype about the bubbles is true. They are great. Even in winter you can use them for 10-15 minutes or so. We do this before we get out, after enjoying the initial heat. 3). Your total cost of ownership, if you follow my model, comes with added costs. You also have to buy chemicals (chlorine, and others) to maintain proper sanitation. The intex drink holder is also great. 4). Fully charge the battery on the remote unit before trying to use it. You will get nothing but problems and resets, etc if you do not. Follow the instructions and charge it fully. I learned this the hard way and lost some time as a result. 5) For the E81 error, make sure you are following the specific instructions in the right order. One step out of order will have you get caught in a cycle of frustration. 6). You will feel a little unsettled without some sort of seat. We haven’t gotten anything to try out there yet so I cannot offer a recommendation. I also don’t find that I need the headrest (I am 6’1”). Overall, this is the tub for you if you are ok getting in and experiencing a slow temp drop, and understand that it won’t really be ready to use for several days (again this is a winter scenario). It is very well built and performs to the specs provided. For the price I believe it to be an excellent value, especially if you are wanting to try a hot tub without investing a traditional unit. I will follow up if anything changes. Hope this helps. Update: I am a year in and still love it overall. Again, it's all about expectations. Being so cold here it struggles a bit in the winter (we've had lows of 10 degrees recently). We are still using it about four - five times a week. We completely changed the water and cleaned it once. Keeping the chemicals in good order is key. I noticed reviews talking about the E90 error code, which relates to bad water flow. I have gotten that a few times and each time it gets corrected by completing the following, in this specific order: 1). Leave the unit as is (beeping and showing e90) 2). Take off the top/cover 3). Remove and clean both filter units (also replacing the filter itself) 4). Put the filters back on (don't overtighten) 5). Reset the unit at the outlet (test, then reset) 6). Power the unit back on 7). Turn on the heater and set your desired temp. 8). Wait a few and monitor to confirm ok. You should be good to go from here. If I think of anything else I will report back.

We live in the tri-state area of NY. We purchased this last spring, so it's officially been a year. Here's what we've learned. First, My husband and I are fairly active and wanted a hot tub to help with muscle recovery. Last year we attempted to purchase a permanent hot tub but pricing was over double the pre-covid rates, so we settled on this solution. Our hot tub does get morning sun but is pretty much in the shade in the afternoon. It is on a concrete slab next to our home, outside, with no overhead protection. This is easy to put together and take apart - It came while I was at work and my husband put it together by himself, although it is a little heavy. No issues setting up or operating whatsoever, and changing water will have the temperature back up within a day or two. That being said, it does throw us for a loop because it seems to take the electronics a few hours to cycle through as they are mostly unresponsive at first after changing the water. We've learned to trust the process at this point and within the day it has corrected itself. We attempted to keep this going all winter last year, but honestly only made it until November. The hot tub will not heat the water if the outside ambient heat temperature is below 40-something degrees. We received an alert while on vacation last November that the unit refused to turn on the heating element due to low ambient temperature. The result was us coming back from a vacation and having to empty a hot tub in mid November. We dried it as best we could and stored it in our basement, hoping nothing permanent would happen to it thanks to our poor planning. It was around April this year where we had more than a few days overnight with the temperature above 48°, so that's when it came back out. Happy to report no issues except the inflatable cover insert did have a small tear in it. Again, we did not store it properly. I'm just grateful it wasn't the hot tub. The only issue we encountered not of our own doing was with the base unit a few months after we purchased it. The E85 error code wouldn't go away even after a few days. We called i Intex and immediately opened a claim. While it did need to get approved by their internal group, it was done quickly and a new pump unit with display was sent out to us and received within the week. All in all great customer service. We will be calling them this week to find a replacement for the insert cover, knowing we will have to pay for that. While we originally purchased this as a placeholder, we're happy enough with its performance to wait a little while longer until purchasing a permanent one. This is definitely a great alternative for anyone not ready to spend the money or perhaps doesn't own their own home to put in something permanent. It has worked wonders on our muscle recovery without breaking the bank or our sanity. I would definitely recommend this product.

I was a bit hesitant buying this at first but am glad I did. I have had the hot tub for a couple months now and feel I can give a good review of it. (I actually am writing this review enjoying it to the fullest) The material is very thick and heavy. It feels like it would take a lot to really do any damage to it. I was worried about it being comfortable but it really is. I don’t like the headrests though if the back was taller they’d probably fit great but at 6’1” they are pretty uncomfortable which is okay because the rounded curves of the top is very comfortable without them. The tablet controller works pretty well. I have it connected to my wireless and I can turn it on from anywhere even if I’m not on my wireless which is really nice. I’ve had it lose its settings a couple of times but if you just check it every once in a while it’s not a problem. The bubbles were surprisingly not too bad. When I first saw them it is a little tube around the bottom edge of the hot tub. I thought what are they really going to do. Obviously they aren’t as good as jets in a hard hot tub but honestly they still feel really good on your back. When using them it will drop the temperature of the hot tub pretty quick. The heater on it is okay. A lot depends on where you have it and what area you live in. I live in a very warm place (hits low to mid 100s quite a bit) it will heat up quick on hot days but on days that it’s a little cooler it goes up about 2 degrees an hour until it hits 90 then goes up a degree or so every hour. If it’s slightly cooler than that I couldn’t get it above 96. The cover is made of the same material and seems very durable. There are also locks on the clips that flip to the side of the hot tub in case you need to keep curious little ones from getting into it. The size is great although to get 6 adults in you better be very comfortable with them and be ready to adjust the chemicals after. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

The hot tub sets up relatively easy and worked great for about six months. Then, the pump went out and that’s when it went from good to terrible. Intex customer support is a joke at best. When you call for tech support, most times you don’t get through due to high call volume and you aren’t even given the option to hold. You just have to keep trying and hope to get through. When you finally get through, you end up speaking with someone who’s basically reading a script and has no real way to help you, so they say they’ll just send you a replacement piece. Trying to contact support through their website is even worse. They really don’t read what you write and just send back canned responses that really don’t address your issue in anyway. Long story longer, my base unit went out and after 3-4 weeks of frustrating work, they shipped me a new base unit. Since it didn’t come with the wireless controller, I set mine with the base unit but of course that didn’t work (I’m assuming they need to pair somehow since they use Bluetooth, but can’t actually talk to anyone to confirm this). I got lucky and actually spoke with someone one time, who had me reset the base and then told me they’d ship a new wireless controller because that didn’t help. When it arrived, I put it with the new base and guess what, it doesn’t work either, so now I’m on two months with no usable hot tub. I am now going on two weeks of not being able to reach them by phone and web based support has literally sent me the same response, which is to request purchase info for the warranty, which I’ve sent and the unit is still under warranty. So, it’s a good tub and works great, unless it breaks down and then good luck getting any help from Intex. If I could return this, I would happily ship it back to them.

As a previous intex 6 person spa owner (older model), I am really impressed with this one! The new look of the faux wood is great! I like the grey color scheme as well. The detachable control panel is a great addition and looks much more modern than other intex spas. You just lay it down on top of the pump and it charges itself. The pump is much quieter than my previous intex. The bubble jets are very strong and provide a better back massage than traditional hydrojets in my opinion. There is plenty of space in these 6 person models to stretch out and you can fit 4 adults comfortably. The bottom of the spa is nice and padded, so there’s really no need for additional padding underneath. Do not leave the light inside the spa. I went through 3 lights on my old model because water got into the batteries and caused corrosion and leaking of battery acid into the spa. Take it out and let it dry when you’re not using it and hopefully this should prevent the problem. Overall, it is a fantastic buy. My partner and I enjoyed many relaxing nights in our old intex and look forward to more in this one. The intex seats are unnecessary unless you’re very short. I find them to kind of get in the way and they put me too high out of the water. The intex cup holders are an absolute must! They can hold a drink and a cell phone with stability. I don’t use the headrests and find the walls of the tub to be comfortable. This model is currently 100 dollars more than the older navy blue model. The fact that it’s So much quieter, much more modern looking, and has a detachable control panel that can be placed on the top of the spa for easier reach, make it worth the extra 100. My parents have the 4 person navy colored model and it feels too cramped to me for 2 or more people (we are 6 ft 1 and 5 ft 9). The 6 person size is perfect for two people who sprawl out. I would like to see intex create a square model to maximize the space. I would also like to see them return the water jet and bubble jet combo spas to the US...it would be nice to have the option to use either, or, or both at once. FYI- it draws in outside air for the bubbles so you will lose temp over time. When it is in the low 40s, expect it to drop to around 94 degrees after about 2 hours. These things can usually stay in the 100s for at least 30 to 45 min even on a cold night in the low 40s. Having an option to go up to 108 like the goplus brand spas would be nice during the winter to increase the length of time in the spa. I had one of those and it couldn’t keep temp, but I would say 105 or 106 was the hottest I could tolerate without being uncomfortable. It was nice to set it at 16 and add another 20 to 30 min to the soak. Definitely worth the investment. Even the cheapest hard wall tubs are around 2k. At that rate, I can go through 4 of these before then.

SET UP: Set up was very easy, only took about 30 minutes. (I spent a bit longer cutting a couple 1.5" foam insulation panels to fit under the tub to further insulate it from the ground, per suggestions online, but didn't count that in 30 min setup time). Took a few hours to fill from the hose. About 1.5 days to heat up to 101F; we seemed to gain about 2 degrees per hour during the day and about 1.5/hour at night (mid-April; outside temperatures were high-60s, low-70s during the day, dropping into the low-mid-50s at night). The heating slowed down a bit above 101; 1-1.5 degrees/hr up to the max 104. USE: Plenty big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. We bought a couple of the Intex seats; they're perfect for allowing the kids to sit while keeping their heads above water or for allowing adults to sit with most of their torso above the water level. As other reviews have noted, the tub does cool down a little with the bubbles on but not that much. My one complaint is that, because it takes a little longer to heat those last few degrees, you either need to keep the heater on or plan well ahead. We keep the temp at 98-99 (and it seems to hold there without requiring the heater to come on much), and then raise the temperature a couple hours before we want to use it. We'd probably use it more if we didn't need to plan ahead like that. When we finish a workout or some yard work, we think about it, but then realize we'd need to wait a couple hours for it to get hot enough to really enjoy. Maintenance: BUY TREATMENT CHEMICALS AHEAD OF TIME. It didn't occur to me, but hose water (especially from a well, as ours is) will not have the right chemical balance, so you're going to need the chemicals right away. We used the tub for a couple days while waiting for the chemicals to arrive, and it was fine, but you could feel the water wasn't quite right. I need to add shock and water hardener every week, but that's about it. The water is clear. You probably will also want to order a skimmer net...bugs and leaves do find their way in when you're using it.

So I got this hot tub from Amazon April of 2021. This has been the absolute best hot tub ever!! I have used it often, I keep it on my porch so it’s covered and protected from the bright FL sun. Ive never had any issues with this hot tub - and here I am now coming into 3 years to the date and just beginning to see the vinyl fading and looks like there may be some internal tears which is causing a small amount of water to disappear along w a little bulging from one side where there seems to be a little pocket for the air to flow into when it’s turned on. But it’s still holding up and working perfectly! The motor and everything is still working great! I think I will need a new one soon but I’m going to let it live out its life! So for $600 and 3 years of nearly everyday use this hot tub is number 1 and I will be getting another! I hate to throw out the motor and stuff even though it still works but looks like there is no option to buy parts separately. So is your looking for the best hot tub this is the one I’ve had 6 people in this comfortably many times so it’s a great size great price and very easy to maintain. I’ve always used bromine tablets but did begin using salt about a year ago and that made it even easier to maintain! Not to mention better for skin and gives it a more clear blue look to the water. Love it!

For starters, we’ve had the spa for two weeks now. It’s been cold over nights and this spa has maintained its temp of 104 with ease! The bubble jets supply a lot of water movement making it very relaxating! The set up was easy and we followed the directions and advice of other reviews not to overfill the tub with air. When the heat reaches max at 104, the tub walls are very sturdy! The cover fits like a glove and holds the heat. We love the removable head end unit that you can clip to the side of the spa. You can control the settings very easily! The fact that it’s portable is pretty cool too in that if you would get tired of it, you can take it down for awhile and pack it away until you feel like relaxing again. Don’t see that happening here, but it’s a cool option.
