We ordered this to squeeze on the back part of our driveway and use as a lounging pool. This thing is simple, easy to set up, relatively quick to fill (less than a day), and easy to keep clean (it’s small). We love it! At this price point, with a filter, you cannot beat it. We are adults, no kids, using this to just chill in the afternoon and weekends. It isn’t deep, which is perfect for just sitting in there and hanging out. Would probably be good for kids too, but not for horse play. This is a mild manner pool, and perfect for that.

As a consumer and frugal mom I research products before I make a purchase. This was a good purchase. I had been buying the rectangle kid pools which would last two weeks or so. They were only $30. so buying 3 a summer seemed like an okay deal. After thinking about it for a year I purchased this Intex pool and I wish I had done it last year. Great price! Great product! It was incredibly easy to set up although you definitely need 1 or 2 people to help you spread the pool out just prior to and during the addition of water to keep folds out of the bottom. Other than that, it was a breeze! My son and his friends have sooo much fun in this pool and I have enjoyed it too. I grew up with an in-ground pool but am not ready to make that investment because we may be moving. It appears to be very sturdy and manageable. I use the pump during the day for about 8 hours to keep it clean and purchased a water skimmer and chlorine tablets. The tablet floats around in the turtle container I purchased and the pool has stayed crystal clear so the maintenance is minimal. I also purchased the solar cover that I put on at night and the ground cover. All of these items I bought, including replacement filters, from Amazon for $150. Best. Purchase. Ever. Also, I was a bit concerned due to the high volume of people who stated that having a "flat" surface was an issue. We have a large cement area in front of our garage, off the deck and I placed it there, on the ground cover and it's perfect. I'm guessing that if I had placed it on the grass it may have not worked as well, especially since we have some pockets in the yard. I wasn't really interested in putting it on the grass anyway.

We love this pool! I got it for my 3 and 9 year olds and they both have a blast it is large enough for them to play in and not bump into each other and the depth is just right so that the 9 year old can have fun but its not too deep for the 3 year old. I purchased an inexpensive net and vacuum and have only had to put a floating chlorine tablet holder in to keep the water clean and clear haven't even hooked up the pump yet. I subtracted a star because as the other reviewers state it has to be on a perfectly level surface you can't be off by much less than 1/4" or it slopes and the water will push to one side of the wall I learned this by Having set up and then having to take down and relevel was off by 1/2" other than the level issue though follow the directions and it is easy to set up but I can't reiterate this enough you need a level surface or the pool will not work and be a huge disappointment! Oh and get the solar cover it is worth the $15

In my experience, Intex is a great brand. We have a 4 foot intex pool that we've used in the past, but didn't want to put it up this year with our 2 year old running around. So we bought this one to use now while he is still not the best swimmer. It says it's a 30 inch, but you can't fill it to the top, so it's probably more like 24 inches deep. My son is 35 inches tall and it goes a little above his waist. It's a great size for us too. We can still float around in it. We usually have just 2 adults and our son in there, but we've had 3 adults plus our son, and still were able to move around comfortably without bumping into each other. I've never had any holes or tears with any Intex product before. Love them! This does not come with a cover, so I recommend getting one...we have the intex solar cover. It serves as a cover to keep out debris, but it also helps to keep the water warm and works great. This size of intex pool also does not come with a ground cloth, so we just used the one that came with our old pool, but you can just buy a cheap tarp from the store to use. I cannot say how well this pump works because we just used our old pump that came with the 4 foot pool. We also have the Intex saltwater chlorinator. It saves us so much money on chemical costs.

Was fun while it lasted. We purchased this as the "big" gift for my sons 5th birthday as he really wanted a pool but our budget limited us on what we could do. After reading the reviews and the price on this pool, we figured we'd give it a shot. The smell of the thing out of the box was awful but to be expected for vinyl. The set up was a bit cumbersome to get everything spread out while filling up and boy oh boy did it take way more water than I assumed it would of (1,485 gal. to be exact in case you were wondering). Right off the bat I was concerned with the slight lean the pool made with gravity pulling at it. My yard is actually very flat but does have a slight grading away from the house to keep water from sitting up against it when it rains. Even with this slight grading away from the house though, this thing had a decent lean once filled up. No biggie I figured, it'd just remain like that until we were done using it for the summer. Once it was filled, it took way longer than I would have thought for the middle of summer heat to warm it up enough to be bearable. It was probably a good 2 weeks until it was really OK to go into temp wise but after 1 full week until it was bearable at all. We had it set up and were using it nearly every day and heavily on the weekends for about a month when one day, I happened to look out a 2nd floor window in my house and saw the whole thing was empty. I guess gravity finally won the battle and was enough to finally put the thing over to the point that it caused some waterfall action and dumped nearly every bit of water out of it in the middle of the night. The weirdest part was it didn't even rain or anything like that the night prior. My son was pretty devastated to say the least but there was no way I was about to fill up another 1,500 gallons worth of water for 1 more month of use before the weather cooled up to much. The real fun started when I lifted it up. Words cannot begin to describe the wretched death smell that slammed me in the face the moment I lifted it up to dump the rest of the water out. It was as if a skunk died under the thing and began to decompose. Was truly the single worst smell I've had the displeasure of experiencing in my life. The smell would not quit either. I scrubbed the bottom of the pool and draped it over my sons trampoline and let it bake in the sun for a good week. I was sure I'd have to toss the pool due to the smell but thankfully it actually went away over time. The dead grass under where the pool was on the other hand, held onto that death smell for a very long time. It was so bad that when I'd get home after work in the evenings and go to check the mail, I could smell the death scent strongly all the way at the front of my property. Thats when I decided enough was enough and took to the internet to see what to do. A number of sites were useless as it was what to do beforehand to avoid this outcome (which is to dump literally 4 tons of sand on your yard then place this thing on that!) but I finally was able to piece together a plan of attack. I took a stiff rake and while gagging and dry heaving from the smell the whole time, I broke apart the matted down rotting grass. I then took a bag of top soil and worked that into the whole area. I think watered it slightly. It worked amazingly. Within another day or two after 2 solid weeks of death smells, the odor was finally gone!! Let this be a warning to those interested in buying this pool. 1: Do not place it on top of grass, you're neighbors will thank you later. 2: Get a big level and make sure the area you place the pool is as flat as you can possible accomplish. If you do those 2 things first, you'll have yourself a great little retreat in the backyard.

Nice pool, easy set up. Just be sure that you have a perfectly level area for whatever diameter pool you choose. Even an inch lower at one end will cause it to fill unevenly. We tried using playground sand to even the area, but once the pool was filled, the sand compressed and the pool was off kilter. It's better to use a shovel or flat spade to dig out any high spots so that they're even with the low spots. We put a tarp under the pool to help prevent any sharp stones that we may have missed from puncturing the bottom, but it's a pretty tough material to begin with and I don't think we would have had any problems. We purchased chlorine tablets at a local home improvement store that fit in the filter so that the water is kept clean and algae free. And I would recommend a pool cover to keep evaporation to a minimum and keep the pool free of leaves and debris. I like this pool better than a metal or hard sided one. It holds up better against tough kids and doesn't break if somebody falls while getting in or out. For under $70, this was money well spent and we're enjoying a place to cool off on hot summer so. cal. days.

This pool is cheaply made and I would not recommend it for anyone that wants to use it longer than a couple of days. The pool started out promosing , but within a day it was already leaking. Prior to setting up this pool, I pressure washed the concrete surface that I was going to put it on and ensured that the area was free of debris. I then laid down a brand new 12 x 16 ft tarp and proceeded to open the pool and fill it according to the manufacturers instructions. It took about 5.5 hours to fill and was ready for use. My children played in it for an hour and then I left it for the night. In the morning when I looked at it, there was a trail of water running away from it. It was a slow leak, so I let the kids play in it for the weekend. I after 3 days, I drained the pool and looked for the leak. As is turned out, the bottom of the pool had small tears in three separate locations. Of course I can't return it to Amazon since i didn't even take it out of the box until 2 days prior to the Amazon return policy expiration. I will not be purchasing another Intex.

My children, 4 and 9, can both swim. But I bought this for a cheap backyard cool down and it is just great. You will also need a ladder, a leaf net, a test kit, chlorine, some chemicals - but the filter system is designed for the next pool size up and so it is quite powerful for this little pool. A wand and vacuum system that connects to the filter is a must-have eventually as a lot of junk gets on the bottom. That said, the kids love it. They go in it every day for a couple of hours, floating around in inflatable chairs like a couple of starlets, and drowning Barbies. It set up easily, though the slightly sloping yard limits how full I can get it. I can get about 20" in it which is about waist height for the four year old (after a month or so we're down to 18"). That's about 1500 gallons. If I can get three years out of it, it will have been a terrific bargain.
