  • Great for the money Great for the money
Size: 6 Person Style: Energy Efficient
Overall- Great purchase. Affordable, well built hot tub. Pictured you see me sitting in a 104degree to start, down to 99degrees over an hour in 32 degree Fahrenheit in Wisconsin today. The black thermal cover keeps it warm and conserves energy in the cold winter months. The round inflatable insert/cover will be great for summer months and leave off the thermal cover. I’ve owned for 6 months and it works great through our cold winters. I leave cover partially on to conserve heat. When wife or daughter in I remove to allow the room we need. It has strong bubbles, not jets as listed. Which is fine. The hot tub itself is durable. The inflatable insert seems to lose air when exposed directly to cold air. Much like a balloon, and is to be expected(seen in picture. In summer it expands a little. Before I put thermal cover on I blow some air into it like a beach inflatable. All good then. The therm cover is great and helps conserve heat and keep heater from working overtime- conserve energy bill. It is a snug fit and requires put on in increments and possible two laps around while pulling it down. Fairly straight forward. In 6 months of use the cover has a small slit in it from pulling down. I’ll likely replace thermal cover come next winter (November ‘23). We put a lawn chair tipped over heater/blower and place towel over that to creat a breathable cover to keep it from out of elements in cold winter. Would definitely buy again. We paid $905 for it and it appears the price has come way down. It’s a 6 person 85”, but in reality fit 3-4 people comfortable. Does not have jets like a traditional hot tub, it’s more like strong bubbles. ... show more

  • Great Tub! Great Tub!
Size: 4 Person Style: Energy Efficient
Instructions are not the best for set up but it is not terribly complicated. You will likely need chemicals (chlorine tabs, ph up, ph down, anti-foam) very soon after set up. The cover is a full skirt on the tub and not easy to get on and off but is likely more efficient than the style that just sits on the top. There are clips on the side of the tub for the other style cover but they are not used. It holds temp pretty well while in use here in florida with night time temps in the 60's. Drops about 2 degrees and hour without the bubbles on, will drop faster with the bubbles. Probably would not recommend for outdoor use in Northern states during the winter like Ohio where we moved from. I don't think the heater could keep up. * update * cover is a pain on the backside. I don't expect my very capable wife to have the patience to get it on and off. May be more energy efficient but not worth the hassle. Would have preferred the top that fits the clips on the side of the tub. ... show more

  • Pump Caught on Fire!!! Do NOT Buy! Customer Svc Horrible
Size: 6 Person Style: Energy Efficient
Long story short, I initially loved this. I'd wanted one forever and was finally able to afford one. All was well for a few months, then the pump CAUGHT FIRE! The seller said since it was over 30 days since purchase, I had to take it up with Intex. It took forever to reach Intex customer service, but they grudgingly sent a replacement pump. When I went to set it up weeks ago, it started throwing error codes. I did all the troubleshooting, Youtube videos, new filters, everything. The heater failed and it was toast. Since Intex will send up to 4 replacements (according to their OWN warranty claim document), I contacted the for a pump replacement as it was only a few months old. The tub part was still sturdy and good. Again, it took weeks to talk to a live person who directed me to fill out the online form and submit a picture with the cord cut. They said it would take up to 48 hours for it to be approved and they'd send me a tracking number for the new pump. As the weather was still a bit chilly, I wasn't in a huge hurry, so I waited...for SIX weeks. I finally got a hold of a person last Monday, explained everything. She told me she was very sorry for the wait and she would approve the form and get the pump sent out that day. Fast forward to today when I called to ask about a tracking number and make sure it was on the way because the online form said it wasn't approved and needed more info. I spoke to a young man who had no clue what was going on and kept putting me on hold to speak to someone else. Up to this point, he said he was working on finding out what the deal was, then why didn't i send a pic of the cut cord (I had uploaded TWO different pics of the cut cord and unit). Nearly an hour passes with him going back and forth with whomever he was talking to when I notice that the online form was being edited in real time. They DENIED the claim WHILE I was speaking with them even though for the past six weeks, they said everything was fine and they'd replace the defective unit. He finally gets back on the phone and says it's being denied because its out of warranty. Yes, the original was bought in 2022, but they said the previous replacement they sent had a new year warranty which still had a few months left on it. While the hot tub is great when it works, the customer service is beyond deplorable. You'll just have a very expensive duck pond with no way to get your money back or a unit that actually works. If you already have one, I wish you the best of luck. ... show more

  • Customer Service was very good
Size: 4 Person Style: Energy Efficient
So I ordered this item, and the seller sent the item via FedEx… However, sometime in transport FedEx “lost“ the shipment, so it was delayed a few times… I contacted the seller explained that I was a victim of a phishing scam on Amazon earlier and they sent out a brand new one which came within a few days. During that time, the seller did keep in touch with me via Amazon, so I do appreciate that the customer service was very good… now onto the tub: I replaced An Intex Simple spa with this pure spa deluxe. The differences in the tub are this: The width of the tub is still the same (77inches wide) However, the depth is 2 inches deep deeper. The wall construction, I feel is a little bit better and more heavy duty. Other than that, the deluxe part is in: , the bubble heat control system, and the energy efficient cover. The Really nice headrest, And the control system itself.. (I haven’t gotten in the tub yet, but I bought partially because of the description “high powered bubble jets” So I will have to see if those are any more noticeable than the simple spa). One thing that I was really looking for during all of my searching for the perfect tub was if any of the manufacturers made one where the Air for the bubbles comes out hot . (It’s nice to be in a nice warm bubble tub but as soon as you turn those bubbles on the water temperature degrades about 1° or two for every half an hour basically). Only one manufacturer makes that and I can’t even remember who. (Would be a great service if INTEX could figure out a way to heat the air in those bubbles). Now for the deluxe cover.. It really is deluxe. It’s very heavy duty and I’m sure it’s going to keep the heat in my tub when I’m not using it. HOWEVER…. I did something really stupid… I didn’t read the directions for the cover! I just assumed you inflated The cover. Well, you inflate the bladder that it comes with But do not inflate the cover. What I did was blow all of the insulation foam That is manufactured into the top of the cover , off to one side and now it looks like the hunchback of Notre Dame. I may purchase a new one from the company, but I’m not sure if it would be worth it at this point. It just depends on the cost of a new deluxe cover… otherwise I’ll DIY something. Because I already voided the warranty by trying to inflate . In summary I give 4 stars because CUST SERVICE was very good , tub is sturdy and easy to assemble, but I haven’t used it yet so I’ll reserve that extra star. ... show more

  • Two years in review
Size: 4 Person Style: Energy Efficient
Two year review. Giving it five stars for the value to price ratio. Had ours plugged in and running for two years straight. Through two winters in Northern CA, only two weeks a year below freezing here. These inflatables seem to have problems when they are drained, turned off and on again. Cost about $70/mo to run in the coldest month keeping it at 100 year round. App has connectivity issues and can be finicky and the cover cracked 20 months in. But it keeps water hot and clean with the right chemicals added. With the right expectations it’s a great buy. ... show more

  • Upgrades from older models
Size: 6 Person Style: Energy Efficient
This is the bomb dot com. Granted I just set it up a week ago, and I can't yet speak to durability. I used to own a 4 person model a few years older and this one has some good upgrades. It has realized that having to lean over to reach the control panel from inside the jacuzzi is a pain (and likely something some of us can't even do) so they have now allowed the control panel to be removable and click into the top of the spa while in use. It unclicks easily as well. It seems to be water resistant so worrying about how dry my fingers are to press buttons is no longer an issue. The spa is heavy and required help from another person, I am a middle aged woman with a lot of health issues though. This model is similar to the other in that if it is super cold out, it will drop a few degrees temp while in use. If it is not too cold, it holds the temp fairly well while in use. The cover is brutally heavy for me, and so I have to leave part of it sort of hanging on so I can struggle it back on when I am done. I don't know if that could be made less heavy in future some way, but it would help us feeble folk. It did not come with cleaning supplies such as a brush or a net. I kept mine from old unit. It should include that. So far this has been a helpful routine for my health and since I bought it during off season on sale, it was a good deal too. (It is now almost twice what I paid for it during spa season). I will also say these are not even close to being accurate regarding how many people could comfortably use them. Unless you want to sit Indian style that is. If you have your legs fully extended, this is a three person, maybe 4. I think they forget about legs or something. I will update over time to see how it holds up to a full season's use. ... show more
