  • This little skimmer works harder than I do on Mondays.
Mount it on the pool wall and suddenly it’s a paper plate–devouring, bug-slaying, leaf-guzzling champion. Honestly, it eats everything except my neighbor’s kids’ pool toys (which, frankly, I was rooting for). Easy to install, easy to clean, and way cheaper than hiring someone to fish out debris with a net while silently judging my life choices. Five stars — my pool looks cleaner than my kitchen counters. ... show more

  • If you have had a pool without a skimmer this is a life changer
When I first saw this I thought it was great idea. I started reading reviews and watching videos. I was disappointed that some people had complained about it not staying place and they had to adjust it all the time because it would stop working. I found another option. You have to lower your water level and cut a hole in the side of your liner. I didn’t like the idea of that. I am over 6 foot and I got the deepest pool I could. I don’t want to lower the water level 2 to 4 inches for a skimmer. So I came back to this. So my thought was this. I will buy this and try it. If it doesn’t work out then I will try the other and cut the hole. Can’t do it the other way around. Once you cut a hole you can’t close it up. Maybe I am not a picky as some people or maybe people don’t know what they are doing. This thing works great. It cleans the pool great. We figured if it becomes a problem we can take out while swimming. We have had the kids in the pool. Jumping, splashing, playing with the skimmer while we tell them to leave it alone. With ZERO issues. I clean the basket out every 2 to 3 days. Make sure it is straight each time (usually it is) the only bad thing I can come up with is sometimes stuff get around the basket and into the screen where hose connects and I have to clean that out. But it is not that big a deal. I am working on an idea to help with that but even if It doesn’t work I don’t care. This thing works great. My problem is we have crepe Myrtle trees that drop these little flower pedals in the pool. So it only makes sense they will find there way through the basket or around it. Wish I bought this thing a long time ago. I don’t have to skim the pool every day or two anymore. ... show more

  • Works great with a Summer Waves pool, too!
The media could not be loaded. [UPDATED BELOW] I picked this skimmer up for an 18 foot Polygroup Summer Waves Easy Set pool. While the included screw-on in-take coupling does not fit my Summer Waves, I had removed the leaf screen (with a small hack-saw) on my intake some time ago so I could vacuum my pool with an actual pool vac extension, so using the product linked to below, I was able to just stick it in my intake and it worked like a charm (Jed Pool Tools 80-220 Inc 80-220 Hose Connector, 9-Inch -for 1-1/4 Inch or 1-1/2 Inch hose): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002SU7GSY/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_10 Adjusting it is sort of a pain, as it needs to be as level as possible, but due to the fact that you're clamping this on to what is essentially an inflatable ring of air, it makes keeping it level a bit challenging. That said, it can be done - and I was able to get it to work without too much hassle. 15 minutes of adjusting and moving it "just right", and this thing is working like a charm. Full disclosure - I'm *NOT* using the included crappy canister filter/pump that comes with the Easy Set pool (those are garbage, IMHO - both Summer Waves and Intex branded). I picked up an Intex sand filter instead, so it indeed has the suction to make this work great - as well as push my saltwater chlorinator without losing pressure. All in all, I'm satisfied so far. When it turns off, the basket floats to the surface with whatever garbage has been trapped kept inside. Hoping this will minimize the amount of stuff that falls to the bottom of the pool, and in return reduces the amount of times I'll need to vacuum. Highly recommended (so far)! Also, it said on the product page that this is *JUST* for the "EASY SET SWIMMING POOLS ONLY" (the ones with the inflatable rings), but it also came with the hardware to mount it to regular hard-side pools too. Not sure if that was a mistake by the seller, but... well, there it is. [UPDATE 8-4-2016] OK, so I've been using this a while now. Just thought I'd chime back in and let people know my experience - basically, due to the inherent nature of an inflatable ring that loses air over time, the diameter of ring decreases and this skimmer is prone to slippage. I came home from work and the skimmer had tilted up to a 45 degree angle, allowing a crap ton of air into my sand filter to the point where it was blowing air out of the return into the pool! I have no idea how long it was running like this, as I had my pump/filter set to run for 24 hours so I could boost my chlorine with my saltwater chlorinator (just had a heavy storm and the water needed to be shocked). So, keep in mind - unless you concoct a more permanent mount that is unattached to the inflatable ring, this thing is prone to slip out of place every couple of weeks. Keep your ring inflated and periodically adjust the skimmer, and you'll probably be OK. ... show more

  • Works great, super easy install on Sam's Club Bestway pool.
This works great for collecting any stuff floating on the pool surface. The correct fitting is included for the 18' round Bestway pool I purchased from Sam's Club, so the installation could not be simpler. The pool came with a fairly high capacity pump, so it was working without the included restrictor on the second inlet, but I wanted it be a bit higher flow. The restrictor made it too strong, so I drilled out the hole quite a bit to get a balance I was happy with. I also bought filter socks and installed one on the basket to catch the little stuff. Overall, the quality seems very good for the price. ... show more

  • A must-have for small pool owners!!
This thing is a game changer! I didn’t realize such a simple addition would make such a difference on our 10’ pool. Our pool has stayed clean, clear, and well balanced all summer. We kept getting this film and tried skimming with a fine net but never could get it all. The whole pool would go cloudy and all we could do is empty and start over. This summer we haven’t needed any water changes. The filter needs cleaning more often because this thing does such a good job. I will never own an above ground pool without one again. ... show more

  • Works but requires fixing all the time
Works well, install was “easy”. You have to diy the perfect spot but it moves and requires constant fixing.
