    • 3rd pool by Intex - love them- but get a better pump
The media could not be loaded. This is our third Intex pool, and I’m a fan of the brand. The set-up is easy as long as you plan out ahead of time what kind of board or paver you’re gonna put underneath each of the legs, and as long as you totally level out the soil underneath. I’m doing it in a yard, so I put down a thick layer of cardboard boxes (helps with weeds), then foam tiles on top (like you see in a gymnasium), then the tarp & the liner. I have a salt system that I use, and I got a big sand filter pump that I run on an eight hour schedule to keep things clear with nearly no maintenance. Also got a surface skimmer for the bugs and leaves. I did have to rustoleum some of the metal parts that the water touches, as well as the entire ladder, because the salt water eats all that metal, but the pool itself doesn’t really rust. Note: The only reason I had to get a new pool this year is because the one we had last year was secondhand and was in several years of dry storage, so it didn’t last as long as we would’ve liked. Definitely get a bigger/stronger pump that you can put on a timer. Makes a huge difference. ... show more

I bought the Intex Prism Frame 20' x 10' x 48" pool late May 2025 and was extremely disappointed with how poorly the liner held up. The pool was professionally installed, properly maintained and winterized — the water was drained below the return holes and the pool was covered for the winter. Despite taking the correct precautions, the liner ripped completely from side to side after only one season. A pool liner should last several years, not fail after a single winter. This kind of failure makes the product feel cheaply made and unreliable. Now the only option is replacing the entire liner, which is very expensive, or buying a whole new pool. For something that was only used one summer, that’s unacceptable. I expected much better durability from Intex. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this pool unless you’re prepared for the liner to fail far sooner than it should. ... show more

Its been 2 years since we bought this pool and its still going strong. 2 things though that will help it last longer. Definitely upgrade the filter and pump, I upgraded to a sand filter and pump system that was an extra $200 but well worth it and before anything do your diligence and make sure you level the ground before installation. Besides regular maintenance they dont take more than an in ground pool to maintain. Its year 3 and still having fun with it. ... show more
