I almost never write reviews but in this case, when I am so pleased with a product, I feel compelled. I have four children who love to swim. They are 1, 4, 7 and 10. They know how to swim (except the one year old) but I don't feel comfortable letting them in a pool that is over there heads without myself or wife in it. Problem is, they would be in the water all day, and I'm not always in the mood! This pool was the perfect compromise! At only 30" deep they can all stand up in it and at 12' round its big! They don't realize it's a kids pool. To them it's like a 54" above ground pool would be for an adult. They are in it all day every day and I don't have to be in there with them. here are some pros and cons and some recommendations. Pros: Assemble is sooo easy. Took me a half hour. As with any pool it should be on level ground. I didn't have a perfectly level spot in my yard so I set it up as level as possible and it's fine.(water is a little higher on one side, no biggy) I wasn't about to level the yard for a pool that I didn't know anything about. Next year I will! Because of its size you can take it down and store it for the winter and not have to worry about winterizing Perfect size for kids! They can send up and swim! The frame is strong! We didn't get a ladder. The kids hop over the side. They can hand and sit on it. It's very strong! Because of its size, it warms up pretty quick, about a day after filling to get to a good temp. The liner is thick. Not sure what the mil size is but it feels heavy. Cons: The filter! I've seen bigger filters on fish tanks! It uses a cartridge that has to be cleaned often and it doesn't flow much. No skimmer. The filter will clean the water(eventually) but will not remove debris from the top of the water. Water quality can go downhill quick! This could be partially my fault for not monitoring the water as often as I should but after it rains, if it's in direct sunlight often or if you have a lot of people in it, the chlorine levels can drop and it can go green real fast. My recommendations Along with the pool you will need a skimming net, a vaccuum that works with a garden hose, water test kit, the solar cover, a chlorine floating dispenser, quick dissolving chlorine tabs, and I would highly recommend getting the sand master 71225 filter and the index skimmer. The filter is so powerful it creates a small whirlpool which causes any debris on the floor to collect in the middle of the poll which makes it easy to vacuum up. Plus it's rated for 9000 gallons and is super easy to clean. Just flip the valve to backwash and your done! You'll end up spending about another $200 with these upgrades but totally worth it! Keep the filter running,add a tab or two a day and you'll have crystal clear water all summer! ... show more

    • Great pool - Buy upgraded pump

GREAT POOL but I learned a few things the hard way so heed my warning! I bought this pool last summer. It was my first above-ground pool so I was inexperienced and I was impatient and put it up quickly. We put sand to level the low spots and installed the pool, which was super easy, and put the legs on cement pavers. Mistake! The sand shifted due to the weight of the water and caused some of the pavers to move a bit under the edge of the pool, causing a small pinhole, and the pool ended up a couple of inches unlevel anyway. I also saw all of the comments/reviews about upgrading the pump but didn't do that. The pump worked ok so I didn't bother, and again I was impatient and eager to get swimming. We patched the small pinhole and kept swimming until I took the pool down for winter. It takes about 30-45 minutes for my husband and I to put up and take down and we didn't want to mess with chemicals all winter or deal with winterizing (and I knew I needed a better ground leveling anyway). THIS YEAR I started early and paid someone to dig down (as little as necessary) to create a flat level circle where we wanted the pool. We put down a liner and installed the pool. We then used the cement pavers to put the legs on but dug them down so they were level with the ground. THIS IS WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE LAST YEAR AND I ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME AND DON'T TAKE SHORTCUTS. I also noticed the pump that came with the pool isn't doing as well this year. It's weak and barely pulls things into the skimmer (purchased separately and also highly recommended). I purchased the upgraded pump. WOW - What a difference!!! I should have purchased it last year. It looks exactly the same as the pump that comes with the pool but is slightly larger but SO MUCH STRONGER! I can actually SEE the water moving around the entire pool and debris actually being 'sucked' into the skimmer. Recommended additional purchases: ***Upgraded Pump: Intex Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools, 1000 GPH Pump Flow Rate, 110-120V with GFCI (uses same tubes, connections as pump that comes with pool) ***Skimmer: Intex Deluxe Wall-Mounted Swimming Pool Surface Automatic Skimmer | 28000E ***Vaccum: POOLWHALE Portable Pool Vacuum Jet Underwater Cleaner W/Brush,Bag,4 Section Pole of 48"(No Garden Hose Included),for Above Ground Pool,Spas,Ponds & Fountains ***Extras needed: Skimmer socks, Chlorine Floater, 3" Chlorine Tablets, Pool Net, 7 in 1 pool water test strips. Notes for new pool owners: If you take a sample of your water to your local pool store, they will test it and tell you exactly what and how much of which chemicals you need to add. They will need to know that it's an above-ground pool and the size of it. You will learn to use the water testing strips to check every few days (once a week maybe) and when you see something off, you know it's time to take another sample to the pool place. Bought this pool because we needed one that was lower for my little girl . It is rust resistant . Easy to clean . The pump that comes with this pool isn't strong enough would upgrade to a better pump . The liner is durable . Pool was easy to put together and take down for the winter . price was great ... show more
