For the money and lack of options in corn shellers, this is a decent product. The plastic shoot arrived broken but other than that all arrived intact and working. It's not very efficient at sending the kernels only out the shoot, that is lots of kernels come out out with the cob and about the machine. It seems with a lower rpm motor this would be resolved but perhaps that would introduce other problems?... or perhaps it's because this motor is rated at 220v 50hz, where as in the USA 220v is 60hz. Motor doesn't get overly hot in use but seems to spin faster than necessary. The plug requires a Chinese mainland type A 220v receptacle. I ordered a universal 20amp receptacle and face plate for $17...there's really only one website selling this in North America. There is no gang box that this receptacle fit so I used a blank and cut out to size. I've added pictures for reference to plug and receptacle since others may want to go this route instead of cutting the plug. ... show more

I was unsure if this thing would work. It did, works great actually. I didn’t like the way it was wired and that there wasn’t a switch. I rewired it, put a ground in it and have a switch mounted to a leg. Now I’m very pleased.

    • Underpowered.
The motor would not even spin the belt when it was cold out. But I had a 3/4 horse laying around put that on it and shells corn like crazy now. So it would work if it was not so underpowered.

Instructions- there are none for assembly, only black/white photos. It takes a bit of configuration and creative thinking. Once assembled, and you plug in to see it run, it will spin likes it underpowered and weak and within 10 seconds gradually come to a halt. This was a 30> second test trial. I let it cool and tried it again. It spun a little faster but the same results. I’m pretty sure this thing is worthless. The design is good, motor is worthless and cheap.     • Don’t waste your time or money
1) shells about 50% of the cob - if you can get it to run. 2) supposed to use 220v 3) doesn’t come with any cables 4) cheap construction/materials won’t hold up 5) PayPal me half of the money you’d spend on this and you’ll be better off.

Hello. This corn shucker doesn't really do a good job. It jams up about every 3rd or 4th ear. And it destroys about half of the kernals so it's a big waste of money.
