The lid is fine. It was purchased to help with my IP's slow cooking but it didn't really change anything. When it comes down to it, the IP is just not ever going to replace a slow cooker/crock pot for weeknight slow cooker meals in my household. The lid is nice and feels quality. I like that it's tempered glass with a vent so you can see how your meal cooks overtime. It's not really necessary though if you already have a metal lid from another pot that fits the IP inner pot.
