  • Kitchen Essential!!
Size: 3 Quarts Style: Duo Plus
The Instant Pot Duo Plus 9-in-1 is a game-changer for small kitchens and busy lifestyles. Its compact 3-quart size is perfect for smaller meals, yet it still offers incredible versatility, functioning as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, and more. The stainless steel design is durable and easy to clean, while the user-friendly controls make cooking effortless. The included app with over 800 recipes is a great bonus for meal inspiration. While it may be too small for large families, it’s an excellent choice for singles, couples, or those looking for a space-saving all-in-one appliance. ... show more

  • Great product, very useful
Size: 3 Quarts Style: Duo Plus
Everything about this machine is great. Old school functionalities in one modern device. I love it. After 6 years use of the original 3qt Duo, this is a well designed replacement. I have had this new pot for over a year. It works solid and consistent every time. As an over the road trucker, I use this at least once EVERY DAY to cook meals. The most used functions are the Pressure, Slow, Sous Vide, and Sauté cooking modes. Very healthy meals. The ceramic non-stick is a huge improvement over the previous pot. I have a mini-fridge. Many meals are Quinoa based with any type of meat, chicken, fish, cheese. Smash Burgers using the sauté mode are delicious; I use a small round cast iron griddle press. Simply dump in a pound of rump roast beef chunks, bag of frozen veggies, half stick of butter, mushrooms, onions, Any kind of starch (flour, cheerios, cheetos!, pasta, rice, grits), G. Hughes sugar free BBQ sauce (THE BEST FLAVOR OPTIONS), and whatever else you like!... set to slow cook LOW temp for 6 or 7 hours... and you will have a delicious cheaper than restaurant healthy hot meal when you park for the night. The meat is fork tender. I've made all the above; plus... ribs, shrimp and grits, SOUPs thick thin, Beans, Rice meat loaf.... freggin endless. The slow cook capabilites and the ceramic nonstick are the keys to success. This is the superman of crock pots. The internet is loaded with cooking ideas. So basically, yeah, I recommend. ... show more

  • Best pressure cooker
Size: 3 Quarts Style: Duo Plus
This is still the best pressure cooker available on the market. Its features meet my expectations. I use this to cook steam vegetables, rice, beans, and meat. I use the delay start function a lot, so I can set it and go to work. When I come back home, the meal is ready. In addition to the preset types, I also use the general "pressure cook" a lot. For example, I use this to cook hard-boiled egg. The result is perfect every time. The problem I encountered is condensation of water on the lid running out and dripping to the table when the cooking is done and the pot is not opened for a while. Water accumulated on the inside of the lid will flow to the edge because the lid is shaped like a dome - the center is higher than the edge. It is easy to solve this problem, though. They just need to make the lid flat, or even with the center lower than the perimeter. They can also solve this problem by adding a "water catch ring" right before they get to the sealing gasket so it drips back into the pot. I like the improvement they made to the way the pressure can be released. Previously, you need to turn the pressure valve to the release position to let the air out. People often forget to make sure it is back to the "seal" position when they use the pot again, making this shoot food out and make a mess in the kitchen, especially when delay start is used (nobody is home when this happens). Cleaning the lid to remove food from all the small crevices is not a quick job. The new design seems to avoid that problem most of the time. The stainless steel pot is another thing I like. It's easy to clean. I don't need to worry about protective or non-stick layers breaking off the surface of the pot and getting into the food. Everything seems to be designed for me. ... show more

  • Great idea, overall decent, but seems a bit delicate
Size: 3 Quarts Style: Duo Plus
Edit to update: The cooker has worked fine since the glitch mentioned below. It has worked well enough I purchased a 6 quart Instant Pot to make it easier to make recipes from the various cookbooks that are around for these devices. Most seem geared toward 6 quart sizes. My only additional advice is perhaps consider a 6 quart size if you want to make some of those recipes, otherwise the 4 quart is just fine for 1-2 people, maybe 4 people for a single serving each, with a bit left over. Purchased "Instant Pot DUO Plus 3 Qt 9-in-1 Multi- Use Programmable Pressure Cooker" through Amazon from Stelli Products, delivered May 27 2019, temporarily failed this morning July 13 2019, but then started again. Maybe. The idea of an electric pressure cooker combined with a slow and other cooker is great. I have used stove-top pressure cookers for years, (Fagor), as well as many and various slow and rice cookers. Having a programmed pressure cooker, like the rice and slow cookers, takes a lot of the worry about overcooking away from pressure cooking. I have been using this for about 6 weeks now, though only the slow and pressure cooking features, there are pluses and minuses. Pluses: Stainless steel inner pot without coatings takes concern about adverse effects from non-stick coatings away, and is easily cleanable with worrying too much about damage. Ability to have multiple pot liners ready is a plus, though I have not done that, I plan to. It seems to work very well when it works. Space-saving and versatility: It takes up no space on the stove, and can be used on any level surface anywhere the power cord can reach, so if your cooking a bunch of dishes you have an extra spot on the stove if you need one, while the cooker can be running somewhere else, even another room. Minuses: The condensation collector cup pops off way too easy. Cleanup of the outer rim is slightly annoying with all the nooks and crannys, this could be designed better. It also seems a bit delicate. This morning I filled it up with a chili recipe, set it to slow cook for 8 hours, it started but then the screen went blank. While mixing up the recipe in the pot some splashed over the rim and about a half teaspoon of the liquid got inside between the pot and the main cooker base. I unplugged, removed the liner and wiped that down with a damp towel, and cleaned out the main pot best I could, all using a damp kitchen towel. The pot lit up, seemed to start, then went blank. It would not light up or start after that, until about a half hour later just before I sent an email to Instant Brands asking about repairs. Now it is lighting up so I will use it again another day and see if it works. But at this point the chili is sitting in my 10 year old Panasonic SR-TMB10 rice/slow cooker, which has worked flawlessly since I bought it from Amazon in April 2009. Suggestions and advice on use: Mix up recipes outside of the cooker and place in the inner pot before placing the inner pot inside the cooker base to avoid spills getting inside the main cooker base. For slow cooking beef, as in a stew, use the highest setting. The medium setting did not do the job for me even after more than 6 hours. For pressure cooking beef, as in a stew, use the normal setting as listed in the recipe booklet. This produced a very nice and tender stew. Suggestions to Instant Brands: The design needs to be improved where the inner and outer pot meet to better avoid spills leaking inside. Splashing happens. Access to clean the base both inside and rim area could also be improved. A way to better store the included utensils, either on or inside the cooker would be a good idea IMO. See the rice cooker mentioned above, and others, for examples. I have enough clutter in my kitchen drawers, and it is too easy to misplace parts or accessories that are stored separately. The condensation collector needs to be more securely attached to the cooker, there are many better design examples on rice cookers from many sources. ... show more
