I'm not sure what it means by thickness, but we found this to be very impressive. If you love sticky rice this is the perfect way to go! I haven't used it personally, but from what I've been told by the "family chef" it's easy to use, easy to clean, no food sticks to the bottom, and is a great value for bigger families (we have 5 in our home)! ... show more

We bought the Instant Pot Ultra first, but it was only 3 quart, so we went with this 6 quart instead and we like it. It was listed as refurbished but other than the box (which had obviously been shipped and opened before), everything inside looked brand new. We would have never known it was refurbished. The most versatile kitchen appliance, hands down. Makes the best tasting soup you've ever tasted in fifteen minutes. If you are living at a high altitude location, the Instant Pot is a must have. Don't waste your time and money on a 3 quart unit, my only regret is that I didn't buy the 8 quart unit.
