    • Better than I expected
I was hesitant to purchase this vacuum because of my previous experiences (plural) with battery powered hand vacuums. The battery just does not stay charged long enough and they are not powerful enough to work on carpet or rugs. All of the half dozen hand vacuums we purchased over the last 40 years or so sat in their chargers gathering dust until thrown out during a subsequent spring cleanup. If it is only used on hard surfaced floors you are only looking at a "glorified, heavy and complicated broom". However, there are several good things about this item. 1. it is light, even with the attachments, easy to clean hard surfaced vacuum stairs 2. it is powerful enough to remove dust, sand-like dirt and cat hair through the attachments 3. it holds a charge long enough to finish the job We bought this hand vacuum just after we removed the carpet from our upstairs and stairway to expose the 150 year old pine floors. Vacuuming these floors and stairs kicks up much less dust than sweeping. So, why write a review more than a year after purchase? two reasons; 1-we have had time to use it and see how things hold up, 2-my son dropped the vacuum this afternoon and "broke" it. Son called down from upstairs "Dad, I dropped the vacuum and it is making a big noise". Sounded to me like the impeller bearing was broken; no suction, big noise. 1. took it down to my shop, removed the battery 2. noticed I could remove the inside motor compartment cover by removing 6 screws; removed the screws 3. noticed I could split the motor compartment housing by removing 5 more screws; removed the screws 4. when I split the motor compartment housing the battery latch release spring flew out; luckily it landed on the workbench 5. unplugged the motor (two knife connectors) and removed the motor 6. removed the shock pads on the motor; didn't find anything broken 7. the impeller moves ok; hmmm, looks like dropping it just knocked something out of alignment 8. reassembled the motor and the motor compartment; looks like all the components fit on one side of the motor compartment (mechanics love this sign of good engineering) 9. inserted the battery and tested the motor...works like new I rarely make comments on my reviews but thought my being able to repair this item was a big plus and warranted the 5 star rating. Yes, I know I voided any warranty I might have had but I really had nothing to lose opening it up and seeing what I could do. ... show more

I have been buying and returning or throwing out power stick vacuums for the past year and a half. I have finally found one that is far above all the rest. I have a very small place, about 1200 square feet and I vacuum every 3rd or 4th day. I charged the battery 2 weeks ago and still running, however, it probably will need a charge the next time I use it, so definitely cannot and would not complain about the battery. The suction is very good for this time of vacuum. It is so light and easy to maneuver, I'm 78 years old and have no problem handling it or cleaning it. First I tried a Shark, which I returned because the dirt cup was the size of a measuring cup and held about 1/2 of cup....I had to empty it half way through each room. Then I tried a Bissell - it worked pretty well for about a week and then just fell apart so that one went into the garbage! Then I tried a Jehonn carpet sweeper -- threw in garbage after 2 weeks - the sweeper brush got so jammed up with not much hair, I couldn't get it out and when I did the carpet sweeper wouldn't push on the rug. I must have bent something - which I should not have been able to to. This sweeper is made so the roller brush comes out to be cleaned and works perfectly. I did not expect such a great product for the price I paid - definitely would buy this again. ... show more

I have a Black and Decker version of this vacuum at work and we decided to try this brand, as it's considerably less expensive, and on sale. It works pretty good. I was hoping I'd feel it was equal to the B&D, but it's certainly not. This one is a little loose at each connection. I suspect the wand will break eventually from pressure on the connections over time. Hopefully not! Also, the B&D will stand on its own. This one won't. The foot part of the vacuum is floppy. Also, the B&D has a sensor when you go from hard floors to carpeted floors, it automatically goes into high. Another comparison I've made is the handle part of this one, where the motor and battery is, is a good bit heavier than the B&D. All in all, though....for the money we can't complain too much. I do believe had I kno n what I know now, we would have won't the extra for the B&D. ... show more

    • It does the job, here’s my tips
I’ve had this for 6 months now. My house is 1000 sq ft, hard wood floors, I have rugs, a dog, and a cat. I can vacuum the whole house on one battery charge. Due to pet hair, you have to clean it out a few times as you go. Sometimes you have to clear the hose line of hair build up. Buy washable filters, they get dirty fast. When filters are clogged up, it won’t suck well. Also, the charger stopped working so I had to order another one. INSE seems to know this is a common problem. It’s under warranty but I needed something fast to vacuum. Over all I do like it. It’s functional but you have to take a few extra steps as I said above. ... show more
