  • Beginner maybe..
I'm still learning to ride EUC. I have a V5 as my learning one, but I move over to this one every now and then to try to learn both of them at the same time - I suppose. I mean... there is this kid that commutes on one early in the morning and I see this awesome headlight flying down the road silently almost every morning. I want to be that guy! Anyway.. The V12 is super heavy (in comparison) and a lot harder to control. The pedals are up higher off the ground (yes they are adjustable) but, this makes it harder to balance as well as the extra weight. You can set the pedal hardness, but it doesn't get as soft as the V5 does. I find that I do better with softer pedals, until I master this thing. I have the audio volume turned all the way down, and the cool led lights turned off. I don't need to attract attention to myself wobbling and falling over on the simplest of turns going five mph.. The very first time I rode The V12, I was holding on to a baseball field fence, and riding in the grass along the field. I really don't know what to tell you about learning it in the grass. Yes, you will protect your device, and yourself. But it's much harder to ride in the grass. So I have been just mixing it up. I fall a few times in the grass, and then when I get on the asphalt I am pretty good, unless I'm trying to make a tight turn. Yikes!. The battery on this thing is outstanding! I have only charged it one time, and that was the first day I got it. I've gone about 16 miles in total on it, And the battery is at 85 percent. Granted, I have the speed limit set at 20 mph, and I only ride about 12 to 15 mph Max so far. I don't really see a point to the optional speed/leg pads at this point. I do have them on there, but I don't feel like I really use them. Or maybe I have them set up wrong. They do not clamp your legs in by any means, but they do make it hard to bail away from this thing, If you start to crash bad. I would probably suggest not getting them until you are better at riding the thing. They don't help me with balance at all. I think they are only for enhanced forward and reverse control. PS- if you think you are going to be sitting on this thing and riding it, because it looks easier. You aren't. TLDR: I don't think this would be a great wheel for your very first experience with EUC. Get a 14-16 inch cheaper one to tear up a little bit. ... show more

  • The 600cc of the EUC World
The V12 Pro is a fantastic EUC, and it’s the one I learned on. Admittedly, I probably should have gone with something lighter and easier to control at first, but the extra hour or two it took for me to get used to this? Absolutely worth it. A beginner like me can get on this and learn, then have tons of room to grow as far as the capabilities of the wheel go. In only a couple of weeks I’ve gone from barely able to get on properly to carving down streets at 30mph, making easy 90 degree turns on paths, handling soft ground and rough terrain, etc. And I’m still not great at this, but the V12 is very forgiving. I’ve crashed plenty of times on hard and soft surfaces with no damage to the wheel at all aside from some scratches, (excepting the screen, which seems not to scratch even when I send it flying onto the concrete). This thing is built like a tank. The new app works quite well, the headlight is very bright, and the RGB strips do help with visibility. Even the speaker serves the purpose of increasing other people’s awareness that you’re approaching well. It’s a very easy wheel to live with. It’s small and just light enough that I can carry it upstairs or roll it around the supermarket with me, but has enough mass that it’s stable at higher speeds. This thing is awesome. So, for anyone having trouble learning, these are the settings I used right from the start and have done best with: -Set your tire pressure down at 25-30 ish. Higher end if you’re worried about big potholes. Lower end if you’re not, and want more stability. -Off-road mode at 90% sensitivity. Off-road mode seems to have a more linear power curve to me. This helped me easily get started after pushing off, and was more intuitive a feel for someone used to vehicles with that sort of delivery. The higher sensitivity helped me get used to making balancing micro-adjustments. ... show more

  • Very solid unit that is very well built
The wheel was packaged very nicely, looks great, and feels very solid and heavy duty. Charger, instructions, everything is there, and everything works great. I have not ridden the wheel much because of the weather and the learning curve to actually ride it but for the Black Friday special, it was a steel. Looking forward to enjoying the wheel. ... show more

  • Don’t sit on a seat, scared to try. No shock, I warned you.
Good starter unit. Good software, doesn’t keep up with traffic well. Get a Lynx when you’re done learning how to ride a one-wheel 👍
