This product is awesome with 2 exceptions. My 3 star rating might be a little harsh but I can’t go 3.5. So the product is great once and when it’s working. Gripe one, connecting this device isn’t necessarily easy. I ran in to an issue because my phone was connected to my wifi on a 5ghz channel while this product is only able to connect @ 2.4Ghz. So you can’t get it to pair until you connect to your network on the same frequency which isn’t listed in the instructions. My other issue is the distance at which it’s Wi-Fi antenna is able to keep connection. I am not more than 20ft from the router but the unit goes off line. I did a 12 hour low and slow cook and had to keep taking the unit off my grill bring it inside to reconnect it and then bring it back out. I originally thought maybe I got a bum unit and ordered a replacement. Well the replacement is here and just doing a cold test no cooking it went offline about 5 min after being outside. It’s upsetting because when it’s working it’s great and at this point it looks like I will have no choice but to purchase a Wi-Fi extender if I choose to keep this device. 20 feet should be no problem to keep a connection. My phone stays on Wi-Fi at that distance no reason why this device can’t do the same.

Worked pretty well and then just after the one year warranty expired (like two weeks after) I started getting a reading when I turned it on, without putting a probe in. I reached out to support and told, “The product has some sort of problem. It is out of warranty, we suggest buying a new one.” I’m not looking for a new unit at this point. Really was just hoping for some instructions like how to do a hard reset or something to try to clear the error. I got nothing. I suggest you keep your eye out for ThermoWorks sales. Better product, better support.

So I didn't understand this product completely when I bought it. And maybe I still don't. I've made every effort to get the wifi to connect during the "fast" blink setup. However, the thermometer will only connect for me on the "slow" blink setup. Which is fine, it's connected. I wanted a thermometer for when I'm out of the house and checking in on my temperatures; this has not been the case. Seems the wifi functionality just allows this to be an extended range; i.e. - limited to the range of my wifi. My PitBoss smoker does have the "app" functionality to do exactly what I'm looking for. However, if you own a PitBoss smoker/grill, you know what an absolute disaster their app is. And if the PitBoss app works for you, good for you... I'm sincerely happy for you. But it doesn't work for me. So while this thermometer has proven to be excellent as far as ease of use and accuracy... it's not what I hoped it was. TLDR - save your money, buy a thermapen instead.

To start off the shipping was very fast. It showed up 2 days early. The packaging was very nice and very well packaged. After opening the box was the thermal thermometer. Undermeith that was the thermometer pen. Both of the products were a pot bigger than I thought. The thermal thermometer is very quick and easy to use. Simply set to Fahrenheit or Celsius and pull the trigger. You can actually see the laser dot when using it on anything. It works on dogs, food, humans and any other object you can think of. The pen on the other hand, is just as great. It has a auto shit off which helps save battery and it is also usb rechargeable. Both of the therometers are very accurate. No more guessing while cooking. All in all, this set is great for the cook in the family or fathers day gift. I wouldn't recommend any other brand. They are built to last and look great as well. Very durable and built to last. Get yourself one asap because they come in very handy.

Well, I've used instant read thermometers before, but needed a replacement for my Thermapen. Didn't want to spend that much, so found this solution. The rechargeable battery on the thermometer is awesome and lasts a long time. Makes it convenient to not to find those quarter sized CR batteries. Then comes the laser temp gun. I mean I don't know how I've lived without this for so long.... maybe I don't really need it, but now that I have it, I'm laser measuring everything! When I sear a steak, it's great! I do a lot of Sous Vide and having a quick sear is key. People ask me how hot is the pan when I sear and usually I have no clue. Now I can see! Works great so far! And the pricing is cheaper for both compared to just my old therm! So even better!

The thermometer was great at first, fast accurate. Then one day it was NEAR the sink and BAM! Water gets on it (mind you, not submerged, just a splash) and it stopped working. I would expect more from inkbird, as I have many of their fermentation temp control devices and they work fine. Hey inkbird, are you gonna stand behind d your product?
