I’m happy with this purchase for my kids. Installation took some effort because of the concrete base, but it was worth it for the long-term stability. The height adjustment feature works smoothly, which is great for different ages (like 9 and 13 years old)and skill levels. Once installed, it doesn’t shake during play, even with aggressive shots or light dunks. The backboard provides great rebound, making it enjoyable for both casual games and practice. Overall, this is a great gift for my kids having a lot of energies to play outside sport.

Read This**** hoop works well even under heavy wind. Kids are loving it. However, directions are so so and you do have to do some figuring on your own. #1- directions call for a .63 x 51/2 drill bit. The closest I could figure was a 5/8 drill bit which would measure at .625 but that got me close enough with very little shaving of the drill holes needed. 2- the distance from concrete edge to install plate was not given. I went 6 inches and that kept the backboard over the concrete at every height. There is probably some wiggle room there but the 6” distance worked well for me. 3- you would be smart to have two people for this job. Not for most of it but 1 or 2 steps another set of hands really comes in handy. Hoop comes with 1 extra of every part including net and seems well made overall. Mine has only been up about 10 minutes so time will tell if it continues to stay sturdy in the wind but I think it will with the occasional tightening of the bolts.

You can’t really beat it for the price. If you want a pro level hoop then pay pro level prices. Backboard could use a little more support. Maybe another cross piece behind it. Again, you get what you pay for and it works fine. The reason for only 3 stars is the instructions. Nothing in it says the bottom post that is bolted in actually has to face a certain way. I had to fight a bit drilling in the concrete. Of course it didn’t come out exactly perfect. I was drilling in 30 year old concrete. No big deal. I took my drill and widened up one of the holes on the base to make it still work. No problem. I get everything else put together and go to bolt the top post and backboard just to find out the holes don’t line up because the base has to be rotated 90°. So then I have to take it all down, unbolt, re-drill out the other hole on the base. Check pictures and you will see. On mine, the base post has two sets of holes at the top. I needed the higher hole to face forward so everything else lines up. Double check yours before you bolt it down. That being said, it’s a decent hoop for the money.

This hoop was much more affordable than others of the same kind. I got it for my sons eighth birthday. It took my boyfriend a couple hours tops to assemble and put it up, wasn’t difficult. Seems sturdy and really looks nice in the driveway 😊
