This is a fine basketball hoop for the price. It has a little more wobble than I expected and takes a lot of cranking to raise and lower, but as has been said, you get what you pay for. I plan to weld a nut on the end so I can use a drill to raise and lower quickly. Overall, this works for us without breaking the bank. If you have a teenager who serious about basketball, you’ll probably want something stouter. This one is great for our younger kids. We like that it is easily removable with 4 bolts and doesn’t weigh a ton. Assembly was simple and easy to follow in the instructions. However, instead of bolting ours down to the cement with expansion bolts provided, we opted to get some concrete j-hooks and cemented it in that way. The hole we dug was 2 feet deep and 21” across with some rebar in it (unnecessary). We widened out the base of the hole a bit more, so probably 24”. If I did it again, I’d probably go with 18” across and 21” at the bottom. It required 14 bags of 60lb concrete. We mounted the base of the pole 6 inches from the driveway which was perfect. ... show more

I’m happy with this purchase for my kids. Installation took some effort because of the concrete base, but it was worth it for the long-term stability. The height adjustment feature works smoothly, which is great for different ages (like 9 and 13 years old)and skill levels. Once installed, it doesn’t shake during play, even with aggressive shots or light dunks. The backboard provides great rebound, making it enjoyable for both casual games and practice. This hoop was much more affordable than others of the same kind. I got it for my sons eighth birthday. It took my boyfriend a couple hours tops to assemble and put it up, wasn’t difficult. Seems sturdy and really looks nice in the driveway 😊
