  • Great value pump
Using for my greenhouse tropical fish pond on low speed. It’s been running non stop for about a year now and no issues or complaints. I would buy this again.

  • Not as strong as a 15 yr old 1HP Sta-Rite The 2 HP Bomgie only ran a min. Shuts off. Replacement too
I had a broken housing on my 1HP Sta-Rite system after 15 years. I decided to get the Bomgie 2HP. The first one would only click on, then off in 1 second. I found loose wiring in the unit, tightened it, but it only ran for 5 min, then cut off. It would start again after about 5-10 min, but cut off after about 1 minute over and over. I thought the unit was bad, as the wiring was wrong at the start. I ordered a replacement, and it would also only run for a couple minutes and then shut off, just like the first pump. I bought a new housing for my old, old pump, did the piping again, because the threads do not match on inlet or outlet. My 15 year old Sta-Rite kicked on and is running perfectly after replacing my cracked housing. I really wanted the Bomgie to work, but it was probably pushing half the volume as my old 1HP pump and just didn’t work for my 19k gallon in-ground pool needs. I tried 2 Bomgie pumps, but neither would do the job. The old 1 HP Sta-Rite is much quieter than the Bomgie 2HP pump too. I really wanted it to work, but I’m staying with my old, rusted 1HP Sta-Rite. I guess you get what you pay for. I’m happy they take returns at Bomgie!!! So bummed neither one was sufficient. ... show more

  • Don't over tighten fittings that use an O ring.
Been over two years and still pumping. Had a little challenge with installation and thought I had a problem a year ago. The sell helped me and it's been doing its job. The way I looked at it is I could buy the name brand and expect it to last several years or buy a reasonably priced pump and replace it every year and still save money. So far I'm working on the third season and it's running quit and strong. ... show more

  • Works great so far.
Says it can't get rained on is my only complaint so far. And no instructions on how to hook up to sand filter.

  • This pump works great
I’ve only had this installed for three weeks, but so far it is kicking butt. Skip the Hayward and all the other stupid expensive pumps. I’m in Central Texas with heat that puts a lot of stress on my pool motor. I had a a.o.smith motor prior to this, it was either a three-quarter or 1.5 hp at most. I was often replacing the capacitor, and then finally it just totally crapped out. After reading these reviews, I decided to go hard and all the way up to a 3 hp. My pool is 36,000 gallons in ground. My equipment is plus or -25 feet from the pool and lower level. I rarely get the chance to give any type of pool equipment a good review so I’m definitely doing it here. This thing moves a ton of water. You won’t have to run your pool motor as much but you will have to backwash more often than you normally did. And not that I care, but it’s pretty quiet too ... show more

  • Small but mighty 3/4hp dual speed
This pump replaced a Pentair superflo 1hp dual speed. The Pentair pump cost $800 and the bearings went bad on the motor in less than 4 years. That is just unacceptable. That works out to $200 a year. Why would U buy another? I bought this little Bomgie pump for less than $200. It hooked right up. Since I got a robotic cleaner I do not need to use it to vacuum the pool but I think it would do the job if called upon. I have a small 12,000 gallon pool. I run it in low speed 10 hours a day and get 2 turnovers. It is makes less noise than the Pentair ever did. The question will be longevity. Even if it last only a year that will be comparable to the Pentair. ... show more

  • Do Not Leave The Pump Outside!
Style: 3HP + 220V
Yes, Don't have the pool pump outside, Just after 3-4 months February 2025 to June 2025 so not even the hottest months of the year. The on and off buttons started cracking and now I can not turn the pump on...... the on button has no button behind it, what I mean you could feel the button going up and down behind the plastic and the plastic has started to crack. So if you are going to leave it outside, Buy another Brand! ... show more
