This espresso maker is awful. I scoured the reviews before buying and had read some that said it was hard to put the filter holder in place and thought well surely it can’t be too bad, especially for the price. I was SADLY MISTAKEN. It takes the strength of hulk to get it in the right place, i mean really. The buttons do not work correctly, you literally have to push the button 10 or 12 times repeatedly for it to register. When it eventually got there it did make a decent cup of espresso but my god, the journey to get there was not worth it. Whoever designed this product: straight to jail. Terrible. I have never had to return an amazon order but I am definitely sending this back. 0 stars. ... show more

    • It's worth it!
For $70 this thing is a steal. When I got mine it was airlocked pretty bad, just fill the tank and leave it for awhile, then follow the instructions for airlock that are provided. Once I got it up and running I started with an iced coffee. It came out excellent, the little scoop/tamper is not an accurate measuring tool, if you use the whole scoop you will have way too much coffee in your basket. Overall for a cheap machine this things produces some pretty good coffee as long as you are patient and willing to do a little trial and error to get the coffee amounts down ... show more

I got this to replace one I bought at a discount store years ago that has stopped working. This one is very similar in function, lighter and a nicer design. Very easy to setup and use. I like my espresso in the morning, I don't really use the steam wand being lactose intolerant, I know there are other milk products now but I'm not a big fan of the taste. I tried it for sake of the review and it seems to work well. Everything is easy to clean. Overall nice looking machine that doesn't take up a lot of space and makes great espresso for a minimal price. I would recommend this. ... show more

    • decent starter product
My husband and I love our espresso. We have tried a few different espresso machines, ranging in price for $300 to $3000. This espresso machine works well, but I'd say it's a good machine for those who are just starting out on their espresso journey. It's very simple to use, which I liked. It has a nice large water tank, though it will need to be refilled almost every day if you use the steamer function. Because it was new out of the box, I wanted to wash the inside, but found that it's impossible to reach into with a scrubby sponge, it's just too small. I was able to wash it better with a long handled scrub brush, but even that wouldn't fit down into the bottom. So in the end, I just swirled some soapy water around and hoped for the best. The wand fits very tightly into its space, though I couldn't really get it to move all the way to the front to lock it in place. This happened before I even put coffee into it. However, when I did put coffee into it, it worked without having grounds or water spill around the top. So perhaps it's not supposed to be at a 90 degree angle? I did love the feature of the little flip bar to hold the filter in place when emptying the grounds. That's one I haven't seen before, but I love it! The steamer/milk frother works very well, though it's so low down that you have to lift the entire machine to put the container of milk under it. Which means when it's fully frothed, you have to lift the machine up again to remove the cup of steamed milk. Perhaps the container I use is too big, but since frothed milk rises in the container, I don't see how it would work to have a smaller milk container. When done frothing milk, you need to run hot water through the steamer to clean it. I felt that it took a long time to move from steam to water. Just be patient, you don't want this to get clogged. In the end, I think this is a good product for those who just want a basic machine. It does the job. But if you are a coffee snob and want more bells and whistles, then this isn't for you. ... show more
