I purchased this espresso machine in 2023, and now, three years later, I can confidently say I still love it! There was definitely a bit of a learning curve at first, but once I got comfortable with the machine and adjusted everything to my preferences, I really fell in love with it. It comes with several preset drinks, but one of my favorite features is the ability to customize and save your own presets. Once you have everything set the way you like it, making your morning coffee is incredibly simple. Cleaning and maintenance are also very easy. The machine has its own purge/cleaning mode and gives you reminders when it’s time to replace the filter, so there’s very little guesswork involved. It is definitely an investment upfront, but for us, it has been completely worth it. We use it at least twice a day for coffee, and we also regularly use the hot water function for tea and the milk frother for hot chocolate. After three years of frequent use, I’m still extremely happy with this purchase and honestly don’t have any complaints. If you’re a regular coffee drinker and are willing to take a little time to learn the machine and customize it to your preferences, I think it’s well worth the investment! ... show more

My wife really wanted to purchase an espresso machine, but I was skeptical. I didn't think I'd want to make espressos every day or clean the machine every so often. I was also concerned about the quality holding up since it's not cheap. After 6 months of usage I'm converted and now can't believe we didn't buy one sooner. I figure I should share our experience and recommendation for others that might be in a similar position. So far we have not had any issues with the machine. The espresso it produces is very good. We use high quality beans, but not different than in quality coffee shops in the PNW, and I would say it's a better cup of espresso. It can produce several different styles of espresso drinks and can be programmed for multiple favorites. The LCD touch screen makes it very easy to make any style of drink even if you don't know how to make it. The auto frothing is also a nice feature.     • Broke in less than a year

This is a phenomenal machine when it worked. I loved using it as it saved me so much time going to a cafe and waiting in line. However, it randomly stopped working within just 7 months of use! I'm quite shocked how quickly it broke. I use it once a day for one person (myself). It's always kept at home; safe and kept in a cool air-conditioned place. The only thing I use it for is to make espresso shots. I don't understand why it broke honestly. Normally, I don't mind when things break because things happen. I just go through the proper channels to get it fixed. The reason for my one star review is I tried communicating with Breville via email and asking for assistance, but their response is super slow, and when they do finally respond, it's a half-baked answer that doesn't even provide any support. Nothing about offering to repair or replace when it's still under warranty. I'm pretty disappointed with my purchase. I spent over a thousand dollars on this machine. Terrible customer care. Questionable machine quality. For anyone looking to buy this machine, I would recommend really reading the other reviews. Customer care should be an important decision-making criteria and Breville is a solid 1-star rating for that. ... show more

We like good coffee but I am not one of those people that will pay for coffee everyday from a coffee shop. I enjoy it but not that much. This machine makes great coffee drinks and is cheaper than using k cups. Some of the things we like: 1. It is fast! Total time to brew a cup Is about 30 seconds including the time for it to heat up. You can grind your beans, brew your coffee, froth your milk, dump out the grinds and clean the frother in under 2 minutes even if you’re still half asleep. 2. There is a ton of flexibility on the drinks it can make and how it makes them. Different sizes, strengths and how much froth it puts in your milk. It does take some time to try everything and figure out what you like best but once you do, it consistently makes the drink just how you like it. 3. We waited to buy this because we thought there would be a lot to clean. But cleaning is not an issue. Only takes a few seconds to do it. Just wipe down the frother and machine. Rinse out the porta filter and milk cup. We throw them in the dishwasher at some point during the day. There really are no complaints about this machine. Yes it is a little pricey but it does onsale for 25% pretty regularly so just wait for the sale like we did you will not be disappointed. ... show more

Love this machine. The built in grinder is nice and the touch screen makes things very easy to follow. There is still a moderate learning curve because everything you do can affect the shot of espresso. Try to use the freshest beans possible. The steamwand is the only thing I have noticed that doesnt always give the same result. Sometimes it more less frothy compared to what I set it at. It doesnt come with a bottomless portafilter filter so will need to order one if you want to really see the pour but be careful until you learn to tamp and prep correctly you might get sprayed. The tamper works fine just takes practice. I usually measure out beans every time I use it rather than time the grind. So far no issues at all with it. Change the filters every 3 months and basic maintenance and easy to clean. Great starter to mid range unit. ... show more

Its great if you are a beginner, or if you want good espresso with in the budget. For a 1000 buck you get the machine and a grinder so cant beat the deal. The taste of the espresso is acceptable, better than Dunkin Donut. But not as great as a specialty coffee shop. If you always add milk to your espresso you will love it, if you drink espresso directly then ummm... ... show more

I've had this espresso machine since Oct. 2023 and it still works great and I still love it. We are so spoiled to lattes and cappuccinos made elsewhere. Keep in mind that you may have to fine tune the machine out of the box. Don't be afraid to change the grind size or even the time it takes to pull a shot. Whatever works for you and your taste in coffee. Just be sure to use the best, freshest beans you can find. My only complaint is that mine has an odd behavior from time to time where I try to turn it on and it seems brain dead. There was no help out there for this weirdness but I tried unplugging the electric cable and plugging it in again and Voila! It solved the problem. ... show more
