  • Magnifica espresso!
Style: Mag Evo
I'm loving my new De'Longhi Magnifica Evo so far! It's my first fully automatic espresso machine, and it's brilliant. It's been very easy to set up and start using, and love the auto-frothed/steamed milk with cappuccino and latte macchiato. The machine is much louder than any other espresso machines I've used, which was a bit of a surprise, but nothing as bad as the shrill noise from self-steaming milk on other machines. The machine takes care of itself pretty well, and does some priming when you first turn it on. Then it stays on until it's idle for a while, when it does some more priming and powers down. There are lights that come on when problems arise or you need to add water or empty the knock box, which is helpful to not need to check each of these daily. I've made espresso, lattes, and iced coffee so far and am very pleased with all of these. It only took a few iterations of dialing in the grind setting at the start before the espresso was ideal, and all of these drinks have been lovely. The steamed milk and foam comes out really nice, with very fine texture that holds up for a while. I also love that I can customize the temperature, as the initial temperature was way too hot for me and I would have to wait a few minutes or risk burning my mouth. The footprint of this machine is a reasonable size, especially considering this includes the grinder, espresso machine, knock box, and milk frother. It's also nicely designed so that the water tank slides directly forward, and you don't need to access the sides or back of the machine regularly. ... show more

  • Great Coffee Without the Coffee Shop Hassle
Style: Mag Evo
I’ve had the De’Longhi Magnifica Evo for a little while now, and honestly, it has been a really nice upgrade for my mornings. I wanted something that could make good coffee and espresso without turning my kitchen into a whole coffee shop setup, and this machine does exactly that. The best part is how easy it is to use. I’m not someone who wants to measure, tamp, and clean up a bunch of coffee grounds every morning before work. With this, I just add beans, water, pick what I want, and it does the rest. The coffee tastes fresh, the espresso has a nice crema, and the drinks come out consistent. It makes it feel like I’m getting something much closer to a coffee shop drink without having to leave the house. The milk system is also better than I expected. Cappuccinos and lattes come out smooth and creamy, and it is simple enough that my family can use it too. I like that it does not feel intimidating. Once you use it a few times, it becomes part of your routine. Cleaning is pretty straightforward. The machine gives reminders, and the parts are easy to remove and rinse. I was worried maintenance would be annoying, but so far it has been very manageable. The water tank and grounds container are easy to access, which makes a bigger difference than you think when you are using it daily. It does take up some counter space, so keep that in mind, but it looks nice and feels solid. It is not the cheapest coffee machine, but if you buy coffee out often, I can see this paying for itself over time. I also like that I can make a quick regular coffee or something a little fancier depending on the day. Overall, I’m really happy with it. It makes good drinks, it is easy to use, and it makes mornings feel a little better. If you want fresh bean-to-cup coffee at home without learning a complicated espresso setup, I think this is a great choice ... show more

  • Used item, Missing parts
Style: Mag Evo
I was extremely disappointed with this purchase. The De’Longhi Magnifica Evo I received was clearly not new. It arrived dirty, showed obvious signs of previous use, and was missing the entire milk carafe, which is an essential accessory included with this model. Unfortunately, I had already traveled to another country with the machine before realizing the milk carafe was missing, so returning it was not a practical option. I want to thank Amazon because their customer service handled the situation professionally and provided me with a partial refund. They did their best to help resolve a problem that should never have happened. My experience with De’Longhi, however, has been very disappointing. I contacted customer support several times and never received a response to my emails. To make matters worse, the original replacement milk carafe is out of stock virtually everywhere, leaving me with an incomplete machine and no clear solution. Receiving what appears to be a used, dirty, and incomplete product, along with the lack of support from the manufacturer, is unacceptable. I hope this review encourages both Amazon and De’Longhi to improve their quality control so other customers don’t have the same experience. ... show more

  • I’m in love
Style: Mag Evo
I’m such a coffee drinker and my biggest dream was this De'Longhi Magnifica Evo full automatic espresso machine. The experience itself is magical. This machine is literally premium , also looks so beautiful in my kitchen without taking so much space in my countertop . The setup process was so easy with book guides and the video. The instructions were so easy to follow. The most interesting feature is the grinds fresh beans for every cup, which makes each cup aromatic. Also it’s fully automatic so you don’t need to replace any thing to between a grind the beans and receive your espresso !! The torch controls are very simple to use , and I really liked how its offers many coffee drink options and hot water just in simple torch button. The milk frother works very well and creates such a smooth creamy foam . The cleaning maintenance is so easy and remove the water tank is very quick process. I’m really impressed and in love with my new coffee machine with a great tasting drink everyday . Definitely its one of my favorite kitchen appliances . Its drive you a cafe quality coffee but at your house . Such a great one and used friendly machine. ... show more

  • A 4 star machine only on its espresso merits
Style: Mag Evo
First off, I might be a bit too critical because I take my espresso machines and cappuccinos fairly seriously. Over the last 15 years, I've had a few Italian espresso machines and am pretty happy with my setup and the espressos and cappuccinos I can make. I didn't buy the Magnifica Evo to replace that setup. I bought it for convenience sake and getting reasonable caffe drinks with the minimum of fuss. I've long had a De'Longhi Nespresso machine for that convenience. For nearly a 15 year old machine, it still cranks out decent cappuccinos. In fact, the microfoam is near perfect. The quality of the capsules fall short and there's the hassle of recycling them. Given the age of the machine, I'm expecting it to die at some point, so was looking for a replacement that could use my preferred beans (Lavazza) and make a decent cappuccino. While I have a commercial grade burr grinder, I wanted the machine to handle that as well. On paper and mostly in practice, the Magnifica Evo is an all-in-one machine that can make many espresso drinks. If I were to judge it solely on it espresso shot, I would give it five stars. Using Lavazzo Super Crema beans, it pulls a good shot with nice acidity and just that little bit of lemon notes - just what I would expect. The "Coffee" option is really just an Americano, and a good one at that. Unfortunately, the cappuccino is fairly weak. One would think that the same company that built a machine that is still producing superb microfoam after 15 years, could duplicate it on its latest and greatest. However, when the foamer is working, it's thin at best. That's when it's working because it can be extremely finicky and would prefer a full soak and cleaning after every use. I got so frustrated with it that I packed it up and put it in the garage for months and only recently pulled it out to give it another try. After a full descale and cleaning, it worked for about a week and now is no longer putting out any foam - just luke warm milk. Now, I only use whole milk and organic at that. I clean the foaming parts now every time and it just works when it wants to. Pretty disappointing. Otherwise, the machine is pretty good sized. It is twice the size (and 3x the weight) of my Nespresso machine and it tends to use quite a bit of water for internal cleaning. The grinder works fine and based on the pucks, it's extracting pretty well. This will likely go back in the garage until the Nespresso finally dies. Since I mostly use semi automatic espresso machines, these automatic machines are only for convenience/laziness anyway. However, for the price I had much higher expecations for this. ... show more

  • Fancy and so useful
Style: Mag Evo
What a lovely espresso machine! I’ve always wanted a De’Longhi and have heard such great reviews - it was about time I tried one for myself! It is so easy to set up and to use. It makes a delightful cup of espresso. I’ve had a great time trying to make various drinks like Americanos and lattes. It’s the machine that can do it all! It’s the perfect machine for hosting. Plus it has taken the place of so many kitchen appliances, now I only need the one! It has a decent size water tank so I’m not having to fill it very often. I also love that it is so easy to use the grinder and my coffee tastes so fresh. I will say it is a large machine so it takes up a decent amount of counter space but for the number of appliances I no longer need out, it is definitely worth it! ... show more

  • pretty good coffee without much fuss
Style: Mag Evo
I been using this machine every morning for about two weeks and so far it make my coffee routine much easier. I like that it grind the beans fresh each time, the taste come out rich and smooth most days. The milk frother also do a nice job, my cappuccino get a thick foam and even oat milk worked better than i expected. What I enjoy most is pressing one button and just waiting a minute or two. The iced coffee setting was surprizingly good too, which is nice now with warmer weather. I played around with a few grind settings, took me some tries but once I found what I like, it stayed pretty consistant. Cleaning is not difficult, the removable parts wash easy and the auto clean feature help alot. It is a bit bulky on the counter, not gonna lie, but for what it does I can live with that. Anyway, reminds me of coffee shops back home, just less waiting in line. the grinder and biler is a bit noisy specially for very early morning, but overall not a big deal. another thing it that the machine sends notification to empty the train which is good and avoid leakage. overall I would say it worth the money ... show more

  • Good but not great
Style: Mag Evo
The machine works very well and is easy to use and clean, but the espresso shots don’t taste nearly as strong as with my Breville. I got a super automatic since I got frustrated with trying to figure out how to make espresso shots and frothing the milk. I’m going to return it and invest in the Breville Oracle Jet instead. ... show more
