LOVE this ice maker! I drink everything on ice, but don’t have an ice maker in my freezer. We use this about every other day and place the ice in freezer bags for freezer. The ice is a great size. I use distilled water as I don’t like the taste from our faucet and there is no taste to my ice. Since my initial review, I have bought 2 more!! One for my 21-yo granddaughter and one for my mom. They prefer this ice to the ice makers in their freezers because of the size of the cubes - and the use of distilled water tastes better than ice made with fridge filters. The first one that came didn’t work, customer service was great and item was replaced quickly. The maker doesn’t seem to be cold enough to make hard ice. It’s very white and sticks together. Melting quickly in drinks. That being said it’s working okay, I had never had one before so maybe that’s just how they are. ... show more

I have an automatic ice maker in my freezer but it runs out quickly when we have people over. This is awesome not just for parties but for everyday use. The ice can be large or small and comes in a hollow bullet shape. It does 9 bullets every 6 mins and it takes about 30 mins to fill the bucket. It stops making more ice when it’s full or out of water. It’ll keep my full bucket cold for a while and no big deal if it melts a little because it reuses the water. I personally like the cubes melted a little bit because I like to eat ice and they are like the soft snow cone pellets. We use this everyday for hours at a time and I’ve had no taste issues or mechanical problems. It makes a little bit of noise but it’s not annoyingly loud. This would be great for an RV, dorm, classroom, home bar or office kitchen. This and my crepe maker are my favorite and most used items in my kitchen. I love the light aqua color and it doesn’t take up a huge amount of counter space. ... show more

    • Unit broke within return window but no one will help me

Ok. So this little guy worked for 5 days. It was a gift and not opened until about a week after it was shipped to me but broke well within the return window. However, upon contacting Amazon, they refused to do a return and gave me a phone number to the manufacturer. This was not even the correct phone number and I had to be transferred around. After a week of being jerked around by these people I contacted Amazon again. Nope, not going to help me is what I was told. Tried with the manufacturer again. I was told by the manufacturer “Amazon keeps doing this to us, I’m going to have to talk to someone”. Contacted Amazon again. At this point it was maybe 3 days past the 30 day return window and even though I had initiated this process within the 30 days o was told nothing could be done. I explained to them that the manufacturer would not help me. I spent over an hour on the phone with the Amazon rep while she tried to contact the manufacturer on my behalf, even though I told her it was useless to do that. She eventually admitted that I was right and that no one at the manufacturer would help us. She gave me an email address and told me to write to them and explain the situation and that there was nothing else they could do. I wrote to the email address provided and got a response telling me that it was the wrong address and I had to write to some company in Toronto, which I did. No response. Amazon and Igloo have stolen my money. I have a brain tumor and am on disability. This was a huge purchase for me. I gave it as a gift because it gets up to 110 degrees where I live and it is nice for people to have extra ice. I have been a good customer of Amazon for years as my disability makes it very hard for me to leave the house but at this point I do not feel comfortable shopping with them ever again. I love my Igloo ice machine! I have had it a few months now and I’ve had no problems with it whatsoever!! Easy set up, easy use!! It makes approximately a 24 pd bag in a days time ( I eat/use in between this, too) with no problems! Just keep distilled water filled and basket emptied and you are set to go!! I only hear noise when ice drops and water needs to be refilled. I purchased the Igloo for personal use in my home and it has been a delight!! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Update 12-22 2:13 PM I called Amazon tech support. After a half an hour conversation in which the person tried to tell me it was out of the return window (it was less than a day old) and forgot what the problem was. I was on hold for a long time. Then she said that I would need to speak with the company rep, Nico. Nico told me that he cold not help me without a serial number. There is no serial number on the unit anywhere. He said it was on a sticker on the box but there was no sticker. For another half an hour I tried to get help. There must be a serial number on the device. I believe it is It is the law. There isn't. This is an electronic problem that cannot be repaired without replacing a board. This is clear. It needs to be exchanged. I have my purchase record. He says no. This is made by Intertek but I was only able to talk to 2 people who knew nothing. I suspect that this was a return for "defective" that was resold with the serial number removed. Now what? My previous unit was sold as Vivohome and is the same as this one. I got a refund. Received 12-21 2:30 PM I bought this as a replacement for another, cheaper brand that proved defective. It appears very similar in size and shape except that the controls are in a different place. Internally they are the same! This one has the same problem as the other brand. The Ice Full sensor does not work and it keeps trying to cram more ice into the bin until it backs up and jams ... show more

I bought this last year because I was irritated with how many times I've had to have my built-in ice dispenser repaired in my refrigerator. It has worked flawlessly for over a year now. The only issue is with how to clean it when I start seeing the pink slime. I bought some bottle brushes with flexible handles to get back into the mechanism, and that is working fine. Every few weeks I carry the machine over to the sink, place it on the edge where the draining hole is positioned over the sink, and then I have my way with it! I use a vinegar/water solution in a spray bottle. Cleaning it at the sink allows me to use the spray hose from my faucet to rinse it out thoroughly. Family of 4 adults using it constantly and it is glorious! ... show more
