  • Function of a barber clipper

I work in a bissy barbershop and this clipper with its battery I never get tangled around the the handle of the barberchair and it never seems to slow down.

So, I've been cutting hair for a while - about six or so years - and I've used the BGRC+s before, which are a pretty hefty clipper. I got used to them, even if they were weighty. I've switched from using those as I work in a high volume salon, but with a lot of kiddos, so I went with a quieter, more friendlier clipper. But, I missed using my blades, and anyone who's using a detachable blade system knows that it's an investment - which means watching it sit and collect dust is no fun. The BGRC+'s died on me after years of use, so I saw these and knew I had to try them. They are very similar to my old pair, but definitely more of the classic 76 feel without the cord. My blades snapped onto them with ease, they cut decently, and I could feel the ergonomics with the clippers. These ones aren't as heavy as my old pair, but they do have some weight if you're used to a smaller unit, an aluminum unit, or simply just a less powerful set of clippers. My one remark would be that the bearings seem to need some grease and they're right out of the box. Of course, I'll check them out before adding anymore, but if they don't need more grease then these are actually louder than my old pair - by a few decibles. Salons are already loud enough with the hairdryers, chit chat, and other clippers in use, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to use these in my place of work. I will have them in use over the next few weeks, so I'll keep an update in mind. For over $300, I was hoping they would be quiet, as passed clippers have been quiet up until they died on me. But I'll give these a good try, and hopefully fall in love with using them. ... show more

  • Fantastic clipper, when it decides to work..
Style: Cordless Classic 76
I’m a barber, and have used 76 clippers for years now. They’re my favorite clipper. My corded died, so I jumped on the chance to get some cordless ones. They run well, cut great, and feel good in my hands. My only complaint, however, is that whenever I plug them in to charge they don’t seem to be charging completely. The light will indicate that they’re done charging, but then I can barely make it through one or two cuts. Not sure if mine is just faulty, or if it’s something I’m doing wrong but it’s kind of a bummer. Would love to hear some feedback if anyone has advice. Edit: sent mine in for a replacement and they run great! Awesome clipper. ... show more

  • Cordless is not as powerful as the corded ones
Style: Cordless Classic 76
I didn’t like that they seem to be less powerful and cut a little slower than the corded ones. They are just ok to me. I will keep them because do like the fact that they are cordless but I will be purchasing another pair of corded ones. Still a good product

  • Cordless Oster 76
Style: Cordless Classic 76
I’m a Master Barber and I use all 15 Oster Blades for haircutting. The only other machines I use to cut hair are: the shaver, the trimmer, and the hand massager. If I use an adjustable, it’s only to shape Afros. I fade with the 00000, 0000, 000, OA, 1, 1A, 1/2, and up. I don’t use adjustables for fading. I used the 76 from start to finish. Trimmer are for polishing and lines. This machine is perfect for Me. I would have taken the octane but the price on the 76 was right so I purchased it immediately. I now have to get my own shop because I have cut beyond expectations and my work speaks volumes. I only have to cut your hair once to keep you on My roster. The machine is the same level as the corded model and surprising just as effect when cutting. In short, get Yours and Master it!! And remember “it’s not the man behind the machine, it’s the man controlling the machine!!”. —Shalom Aleichem ... show more

  • I highly recommend avoiding this particular product.
Style: Cordless Fast Feed
I already have the corded version and absolutely love it. I wanted to get the cordless one for ease of use and quick touch ups here and there. I've had this clipper for 12 days and haven't even been able to use it yet. There is extremely powerful plastic odor that permeates my entire house. Just touching the clippers leaves the odor on your fingers that won't go away with up to two scrubbings with a scented soap. I've had this airing out for almost two weeks and the odor is still god awful. After only about an hour inside I had to move it onto an enclosed patio because the smell was making me physically ill. Besides the odor the clipper came with a sticky wrap that help the power button in the off position, when removing the sticky it leaves a ring of sticky residue around the clipper. And finally there is no light on the charging cradle to let you know it's seated correctly and charging. If or when the odor is completely gone I will try to use them but it's been a full 12 days and this odor has not gone away. I want to reiterate how bad the smell is. When I said it permeates through the entire house I mean it literally made every room in my downstairs reek. 2 Bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and an office. I had to open all my windows for hours with fans running to get the scent out. After that I still had to close the door to my office where I had it airing out and run an air purifier for 24 hours to get rid of the smell. I literally have to wash my hands at least twice with Dawn dish detergent before the smell even starts to dissipate from my fingers. The one and only reason I am going to try and keep this is because all of my guard attachments already fit this unit which cost me around $50. As of November of 2022 I highly recommend avoiding this product. Edit: I was going to keep this but after a month of owning it the plastic odor is still just too strong. Whatever plastic they used on this is horrible. I finally threw in the towel and put in for the return today. The corded version is made with a different material and is great. Look at the pictures and see the difference yourself. Do yourself a favor and look for something else. ... show more
