  • Good product!
The cable stripper I wish I would have purchased years ago! Simple, effective, and built well. Not to mention cost effective enough that if I lose it or damage it somehow I can replace it easily. What a fantastic product!

  • big fan of such and affordable tool
I picked up the iCrimp ICP-240 mostly because I didn't want to spend $100 on a wire stripper for a job I could knock out with a $10 tool, and honestly it delivered. The key to getting clean cuts is dialing in the blade depth with the small set screw on the bottom of the tool, and once you nail that setting it strips insulation consistently without nicking the copper. One thing I genuinely appreciate is that the hex key for that set screw stores right inside the tool body, so you're not hunting around for it when you need to make an adjustment. It handles a solid range of AWG sizes and works well on duplex marine wire, large power cable, and standard residential wire alike. There is a learning curve, and you might cut too deep on early attempts, but easing off the pressure and setting the blade to leave just a thin layer of jacket fixes that. Spin it around a few times, bend the insulation to break it, and it slides right off. It even comes with a spare blade. There was a single spare blade already secured to the body with a screw. I added the other 2 spare blades (for a total of 3 spare blades) to the same space. For occasional use or a one-off project, it's hard to argue with the value. ... show more

  • Surprisingly effective
I bought this recently after heavily debating buying a much more expensive one that seemed to be simpler and easier to use. I had my doubts about whether this one was actually going to cut the right depth into the insulation. The moment I used it I was impressed. There are a few different slots (gauges) for different gauge wires. I was wondering how the device would cut to the right depth given there isn’t a slot for exactly 8AWG, 6AWG, etc. But it is surprisingly effective. That said I did cut too deep on numerous cuts. But if you learn to just ease back on the pressure a little bit it’s easy to correct. Worth it for $10. Now if I was going like 100 of these cuts every day as a professional then no, and the $100 or whatever would be worth it. But for a dozen connections like I was working with its excellent ... show more

  • Works well, solidly-built. Would be better if the cut depth was adjustable.
This is a good tool, period. But for the price it's a great tool. I bought this to strip 4 and 0-gauge power wire for car stereo installs. I tested it with some cheaper 4-gauge and it worked perfectly, running the stripper around twice. Clean cut and didn't nick any strands. But when I moved to the cable I was actually going to use, it cut way too far into the wire strands. This happened b/c the good cable has a thinner jacket where the test cable was actually welding cable with a thicker jacket. If this tool had an adjustable cut depth it would be perfect. You can sort of "make it adjustable" by pinching the lever open slightly as you spin it. This is obviously tricky to do, but can be done. The fact that it makes a perfectly round/even cut is the big draw for me. If only it was adjustable. ... show more

  • Perfect Tool for Clean, Consistent Strips!
I’ve used a lot of cable strippers over the years, but the iCrimp ICP-240 stands out for its precision and ease of use. The build quality feels solid and durable, with smooth operation and comfortable grips that make repetitive work much easier. It strips wires cleanly every time no nicked conductors or uneven cuts. The adjustable tension and compatibility across AWG sizes make it super versatile for both professional and DIY projects. ... show more

  • Great wire strippers - easy adjustment
Wire strippers work like a breeze. Perhaps too good, but be aware you may have to adjust the depth of the cut to ensure you don’t cut strands of your audio wire. Adjustment is the opposite of what I expected actually, moving the blade closer to the other size where you seat the wire allows it to not cut as deep. A+ ... show more
