The package I received didn't have any of the QA/QC issues that others have mentioned, but I'd definitely inspect yours as I imagine at this price point it's more of a random lotto because that's one of the first processes they cut to make margin. The grip on these isn't the best, it feels like plastic with a cheap rubber overmold, the metal seems good. The holes were all appropriately sized. I needed these for the expanded size range (e.g. 28ga) in my go-bag, so they won't see much use, and at $5/ea they work great. Make sure you're reading the listing right, as there is another one with a similar 2-pack that has 2 of one of the sizes, not 1 of both (which is what I got). ... show more

I have Hakko and another high-end brand. These are identical in every way except for the kind of plastic on the handles. Dowell uses a harder kind of plastic, possibly more durable but not as soft. Not all of the "clones" are as well constructed as this clone. There is zero "play" in the pivot point and the cutting hole is very round and sharp with decent-quality steel. ... show more
