Description

KNIPEX Tools new patent pending Forged Wire Stripper is a true game changer. It strips solid and stranded wire 10-20 AWG. Wire locating ridges make it easy to find stripping holes. It cuts 6-32 and 8-32 screws without threading from either the front or back of the tool. Cutting blades are designed to cut individual wires, NM-B, BX/MC, and battery cable. Lock can be used either right or left handed. Knurled tip and wide flat jaws for better grip. Also includes wire looping groove and gripping area for pipes.

    • The Last Wire Strippers You'll Ever Need - If You Treat Them Right

The media could not be loaded. As an electrician who has used nearly every major brand of pliers, I can say with confidence that this is the best pair of wire strippers and cutters on the market. The quality is top-tier, made in Germany, well balanced in the hand, and equipped with a grippy head that twists 12 AWG wire with ease. The insulation feels solid, and the cutting blades have exceptional longevity. That said, there are a couple of important caveats. To achieve this level of performance, the metal has been treated in a way that makes it prone to rust, so you'll need to keep it dry and oiled. Also, while the steel is extremely hard and sharp, it's brittle. Cutting anything other than copper or aluminum , like steel or nails , can permanently damage the blades and affect the tool's function. These are the best wire strippers you will ever need. As much as I love klein tools and have had my milwaukee self adjust wire strippers, these knipex are just amazing cuts MC & NM like butter doesn't really matter the guage for the most part it just cuts and strips. I also do low voltage and these perform fantastic. Yes the price is a bit steep for "wire strippers" but if you can worth the investment. I have used almost every brand so far and these are the one I will keep for as long as possible. ... show more

Knipex wire strippers are made with very high quality. These are very sharp and do remove insulation quite easily. They feel very rugged and well-built in the hand. I'm not a professional electrical just a weekend DIY warrior, maybe installing some light switches and other simple stuff. I know the pros use these, and they last a long time. For me, they will probably last a lifetime. I have not tried the screw cutting, but all the reviews I read say it works, and no need to thread the screws in like other strippers. These are so sharp and precise that they will cut your electrical screws clean! I've watched many YouTube videos demonstrating this. Looking forward to needing a screw cut down now ... show more

These cut better than any other strippers I've used and the handle I like better than traditional comfort grip strippers. The only fault I'd give of these is that they cost a lot but aren't excellent in every aspect. What isn't excellent you ask? The pliers. Their grip strength is only so so. Personally, from what I've seen, the Klein combo strippers look to be a better option as far as better strippers that have pliers on the end. (A coworker has those). I love knipex but I don't feel like these are worth quite the price they are asking for these when the Kleins are probably better. The cutters are aabout the same (both great) but the one edge I'd give the knipex set is the small handles. That's another reason I bought these and I am very glad in that department. I don't know about the rest of you but I want something that's easy to handle when I'm cutting and stripping wire because I usually can't move the other hand and have to be pretty dexterous with my cutters, and these allow me to do that. In closing, I'd say grease these up a little bit to get the spring function running smooth (that's another small issue is they are a but stiff still after 2 months), and maybe take a key file or something to make those plier teeth a little deeper for stronger grip. ... show more
