Bought this to manage the battery system replacing the battery in our 428i GranCoupe. The local import shop wanted $580 to replace the battery and program the car. To each it's own when purchasing products. But for me this was easy to use with no issues at all. I think people need to read the instructions an buy what this product is used for. But I've not had no issues with it. I was able to erase old codes from my BMW X5 without a shop charging a grip to just erase codes.     • Should it work on delivery?
I bought this scanner because I have 3 BMW's and wanted to know as much as I can about them and fix any problems that come up. I could have gotten a cheaper scanner but this is supposed to be one of the best. It arrived on the 12th. I opened the box and was pleased to see it was the right one. After reading the directions I went out to my car and plugged it in. The first thing I see is an error message and it won't let me do anything. After another 5 tries plugging and unplugging it, I get a screen that says it's in upgrade mode. I go back in the house and go to the website and follow the directions for upgrading the software. It wouldn't do what it was supposed to do so after 2 hours I'd had enough. Shouldn't a product work right out of the box? I think it should. Don't buy this icarsoft scanner. I'm sure there are better ones out there. I know I'm looking for one now. ... show more

I have a 2013 mini cooper s and this thing is perfect. So much information in the diagnostic section. One thing to keep in mind is that this unit is only for BMW and mini so do not buy unless you have a BMW or mini. This company offers other scanners for other cars.

im quite happy with the scanner I was having problems with the install of 02 sensors and new cath converter and my mechanic didn't have a scanner to work with my bmw the scanner allowed us to scan live which mad a big difference and we were able to clear the 02 codes and clear emissions its worth the money ... show more

Worked great for telling me all the issues with my Mini. Was able to diagnose and fix the following - ABS wheel speed sensor (isolated to exact wheel with problem), Airbag warning (able to tell me it was passenger seat occupancy sensor which was covered under an extended warranty), reset my battery in the computer after it was changed, determine my alternator was bad, and reset some maintenance intervals that I couldn't figure out how to do on the console of the car. ... show more

Product what's great provides absolutely full detail. Own a 2004 Mercedes E500 4Matic, used regular OBD2 and wasn't accurate to obtain information needed. If you own a Mercedes its worth having. Its expensive when you contiplate on purchasing, but a great investment afterward once you own one. Its meant for Mercedes only...so don't get it just for any Vehicle. Make sure it's the MB V2.0 it's up to date..plus you're able to update software... ... show more

    • Connection is reliable, but some features lacking
All scan tools seem to have their drawbacks. This one connects reliably, which is nice. I bought this to register a battery in a 328i and X3d, which both worked as expected. But it does not work with my 330e, neither primary 12V battery nor auxiliary battery (tool says no BMS). Software updates are easy, but the software is consumer-grade - for example, sometimes "back" is the back button, sometimes it is F2. Scanning all modules for fault codes is tiresome, it was easier on my Foxwell (when it connected...). And I could not getting DPF data on my X3 diesel, so I'll need another tool. ... show more
