Let me get something out of the way first. The user interface is a little chintzy. Once you’re past that, this is a great tool for the DIY’er. This thing paid for itself the first time I used it. I thought I needed wheel speed sensors. Turns out it was simply a mismatch in tire size so the car thought it was constantly in a slide which cut power and triggered the traction control to malfunction. I have only used this scanner a hand full of times over the past 2 years now it has failed. And icarsoft does not answer the phone and doe snot return emails so the unit is garbage now i guess.

For me, and in my opinion. I found it frustrating how slow its scanning is and also how limited it is for the money. I tried to see what the codes were and that is annoyingly time consuming as you need to scroll through each area to see if it has a fault. I also thought I could bleed the diesel injectors ie turn the fuel pump on.... nope. I would buy the next model up. This is really for clearing faults and putting new batteries in and coding them. Now it is a beautifuly made unit. Solid durable and has an awesome carry case. Excellent cables. Easy to read screen but if you just want to see if there is a fault and clear it then there are much cheaper units available. ... show more

I had been researching scan tools vs taking apart the EPB manually. Time is money (and I don't have a lot of either) and the iCarsoft CR Pro seemed to have the best bang for the buck. And also it did not require a subscription or limit me to a single car. I have a 2018 Subaru Forester and 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder (both have a traditional cable parking brake). My girlfriend's Honda CR-V with the electronic parking brake needing pads was the immediate need for this tool. Took it out of the box, plugged it in, and it works flawlessly. Even resetting the EPB happening in the push of a button or two. The language is easy to understand in the menus.     • This product is a must have and saved me 100's of dollars on day one
I was having a transmission issue with my Benz GL450 (2008 if yo must know). The transmission was stuck in first gear--could not get SUV to go above 30 MPH even at 4000 RPM. Out of frustrations, and before I visit the dealer, i bought this unit. within 5 minutes, I knew was going on, I quickly repaired an issue with a wheel sensor and reset my transmission, saving me 100's of dollars. I love the live data stream--while driving the SUV I can see RPM information coming from each sensor and each wheel, confirming the issue is fixed! This product is a must have and worked even better than advertised. Feature request: touch screen would be nice & the booklet that came with it was printed too small--I had to rely on online documentation. Other than that the product is extremely well made, software is upgradable--I highly recommend this tool. ... show more

    • It’s a real iCarSoft CR Pro.
Researched the CR Pro and found it was going to work on our 2915 Macan S. Also its a real iCarSoft product- several warnings about fake or fraud units being sold. Amazon deals direct and had disclaimer guaranteeing genuine product. It reset oil interval on Macan and worked with 2006 INFINITY QX56 and a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. It did not read VIN numbers automatically; had to be manually entered- only downer. Looking forward to more detailed work like ABS and other service work. Best part is I did NOT have to buy a Porsche only analyzer/scanner. ... show more

This may be more of a review of Amazon's practices than the actual product. I could tell the product had been opened before since a twist tie was missing on one of the cords but I could see the marks where there had been one. So I plug it in and immediatley get the screen in the picture and none of the keys will do anything. I'm guessing this is why it was returned by the previous buyer. But the fact that I even got this error keeps me away from this product. ... show more
