Best chainsaw I have ever used! Last month I attempted to cut some 12-14” trees, and used my father-in-laws cheap generic chainsaw. I used to think a saw was a saw. Chain goes round and round and cuts wood, right? I even put a brand new chain on and I have never been so wrong!! The first thing I noticed was how easy the Husqvarna is to start! Follow the directions and starts easily very time. The first time I set the chain on the tree it just fell through the log with no effort. Granted, I was cutting aspen trees which are super soft but it was so easy! The power is amazing and the anti-vibe handle made it comfortable to hold onto as it simply chewed through the logs like butter! I highly recommend this saw, at least for softwood. I’m sure it’ll be just as capable with oak and hickory! It is 16 pounds so if you want a super lightweight saw, you’ll need to find a smaller engine which is the bulk of the weight

This is my second chainsaw. My first was a Stihl model 046 magnum, a super workhorse with a 70 cc engine that I bought in 1997 and have used ever since until last week when some idiot (me) ran over it in his truck while cutting wood next to my house. I bought the Husky to use while waiting to get my Stihl rebuilt but now that I've used the Husky, I may not bother fixing the Stihl. I like the Husky even more than my beloved Stihl. It's lighter but cuts just as fast. It is also much easier to start and is very smooth running.

I'm updating this review as the photo on the outside of the box is not what was in the box. (manufacture packaging issue) I ordered the 455 Rancher and I received a 455 Rancher so I'm a very happy customer. The photo on the box is of the 455 e-series and that is a bit confusing. I ordered the Husqvarna 455 R Rancher but received the Husqvarna 455 e-series. Both are good saws but are not the same thing. Most notably is the e-series has a tool-less chain tensioner and the 455 R Rancher is the two nuts to secure the chain housing. The 455 R Rancher is designed for more heavy-duty use. The 455 R should have 3 ports in the muffler instead of 2. I feel that they miss represented the product in the ad.

Oit of the box, same day cut down four big trees and cut up all of the wood in just a few hours, only two tanks of gas, it's powerful and impressive. Comfortable and easy to use for long periods. However... I cannot for the life of me find a replacement chain. Needs an 80 tooth 3/8 pitch .050 gauge chain which doesn't seem to exist. Not at any of the big stores near me. Still searching but in the meantime I bought an Oregon 72 tooth 3/8 pitch bar and chain just so I could use it. Works just as well but my nice new Husqvarna bar is just sitting there being sad.

started instantly, loads of power. This thing is a beast. makes quick work of large trees. its not light by any means but it can rip. Idles beautifully, i dont feel like its obnoxiously loud. would recommend. i own two acres with many dead oaks and walnut trees, happy so far.

This expensive hunk of garbage literally lasted less than four months before not turning on. We used Husqvarna bottled oil to blend with gasoline in the stated proportions. My husband is very careful with his tools. The bologna 'warranty' that comes with it means nothing as Husqvarna will not cover the cost to repair the cylinder and piston which are faulty. Husqvarna will not answer phones for their customers, they send you to an authorized dealer, instead. They can't tell us what caused the problem, but just refuse to cover it. They tried to say it must have been bad oil mixed in, but I had pictures of the empty bottles of Husqvarna oil and the blue fuel mixture to prove that we used their own product! We spent over $600 on this saw, accessories, extra chains, etc., and it conked out before we even hit 4 months! The cost to repair it is the cost of a whole new saw! Complete garbage. Don't purchase this! We will never purchase a Husqvarna product again.
