  • Great product, but buy a second battery for longer cutting time.
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
Great product. Cuts like a dream without the cord or need for lugging around fuel. The only downside is the battery that comes with it doesn't last as long as I'd like. Recommend getting a secondary/larger battery to go along with it for better experience.

  • Great for light duty
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
I have found this to be perfect for small jobs in the yard. It easily cuts through several inches of wood and the battery lasts for hours.

  • Broke after a short use
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
Broke down the first time I used it. It worked fine for about half an hour. Then the chain came off. It isn't quite as some say. Sounds like a kitchen mixer. When I put the chain back on it would not start. It was next to impossible to get anyone on the phone. After a very long wait I finally got a person but just could not hear. She said she would call back but didn't. I finally gave up trying to connect to anyone again. I Called at 9 o'clock the next day ( the time they open). Got someone I could hear. She was great. Gave a repair order. The place I was sent was in the next county, about 15 miles, back in the woods. It had about 100 old junk lawn mowers around it. But I was called the next day to come pick up a new one because my old one couldn't be repaired. The new one works great so far. ... show more

  • Best purchase for women who are intimidated to use a large gas powered chain saw.
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
This is one of my best purchases that I can use myself and not have to bother husband to get his big chain saw out to trim some dead branches. It’s very lightweight and yet being battery powered surprisingly has a lot of power. He has now laid claim and uses it as much as I do. Great purchase and highly recommend especially if you have woody plants that always have old dead stems that are sometimes to hard and thick to cut with loppers. ... show more

  • Great investment
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
I've only used it a couple of times so far but I love this little saw. Much lighter than my gas chainsaw and the battery life is longer than I expected. I have a whole line of Greenworks products and really appreciate them all. I'm 81 years old and when I'm high up in a tree in my yard I've often thought how great it would be to have a chainsaw with an electric starter, as it can be very difficult in starting a gas powered saw when you're trying to hold on to a limb too. But the answer came in this battery powered chainsaw and I highly recommend it as I do ALL Greenworks products. Their only item that I would have any complaint about is their grass trimmer. It works great but is very difficult in extending the string out constantly. I know, I should go back to work as a salesman for Greenworks. HA ... show more

  • Randomly shuts down, leaks bar oil.
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
I don’t recommend this chainsaw. It randomly shuts off. I removed battery and sometimes it would start again but most of the time it wouldn’t. It also leaks bar oil. I called Greenworks tech support regarding the oil leak and they said the oil supply is gravity fed and yes it leaks when the saw isn’t running. So unless you use all the bar oil plan on having a big mess to deal with. ... show more

  • not working the first time trying to use it
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
It did not work! I charged up the battery and tried it out..., but nothing happened. Several times, I removed and replaced the battery, but it is still not running. I tried another battery, but it is still not running. The 'help' section does not help troubleshoot what's wrong. Disappointed that the new, out-of-the-box chainsaw is only suitable for an ornament. Edit: I went to the troubleshooting website to determine what was wrong. The automated response was not useful. I re-read the instruction book and still could not get it to work. The instructions are POORLY WRITTEN and are not clear. They should look at Ikea or Lego for hints on writing the instructions! From the manual: (It references Figure 1 on another sheet that is nothing more than a picture with a few numbers on different parts.) To start the machine: 1. Press the lock-out button (similar to gas machines, it's on the grip beside the trigger), 2. Press the trigger while you hold the lock-out button (still similar to other pieces of equipment), 3. Release the lock-out button (it stays depressed because it's linked to the trigger). WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU IS THEY HAVE A SECOND ON/OFF SWITCH in front of the bar where you place your left hand. It looks like a guard to protect your left hand. If it is in the 'off' position, the saw will not work. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE INSTRUCTIONS TO INDICATE THIS FEATURE! In addition, another commenter mentioned that the bar nuts were not tight. One of the two on my saw could be removed with my fingers. And the chain was so overtightened that it was terribly noisy. I suggest that you test the assembly of the bar and the tightness of the chain before use. Another point, I purchased the saw in March 2025, the manufacturing date of the saw is Feb. 2022! Is this old stock? ... show more
