  • Great investment
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
I've only used it a couple of times so far but I love this little saw. Much lighter than my gas chainsaw and the battery life is longer than I expected. I have a whole line of Greenworks products and really appreciate them all. I'm 81 years old and when I'm high up in a tree in my yard I've often thought how great it would be to have a chainsaw with an electric starter, as it can be very difficult in starting a gas powered saw when you're trying to hold on to a limb too. But the answer came in this battery powered chainsaw and I highly recommend it as I do ALL Greenworks products. Their only item that I would have any complaint about is their grass trimmer. It works great but is very difficult in extending the string out constantly. I know, I should go back to work as a salesman for Greenworks. HA ... show more

  • Works very well!!
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
Arrived on time and in great condition. Very easy to use (like most battery-powered tools) and does a great job on timber up to about 10” in diameter. Have not tackled larger jobs, or those that might require hours of continuous use, but for quicker jobs within its 14” limits, a great tool. And two other 40V battery packs I have from other Greenworks tools fit and function in it as well. ... show more

  • The Greenworks 40v 14” Chainsaw
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
This little saw is a beast. First time to use it but very impressed. Be sure to tighten the chain bar nuts before first use. I would have given it 5 stars except for the 2.5a battery run time. I didn’t time it but I think it was only about 30 minutes. The next time I’ll time it, however I planned on getting a second battery anyway. (I really didn’t expect the 2.5a battery to last very long). ... show more

  • Best purchase for women who are intimidated to use a large gas powered chain saw.
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
This is one of my best purchases that I can use myself and not have to bother husband to get his big chain saw out to trim some dead branches. It’s very lightweight and yet being battery powered surprisingly has a lot of power. He has now laid claim and uses it as much as I do. Great purchase and highly recommend especially if you have woody plants that always have old dead stems that are sometimes to hard and thick to cut with loppers. ... show more

  • NO LIMITATIONS
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
Battery lasts a long time, noise level is that a minimum, very easy to use, quality is good, battery charge is fast, and there's no limitations of where you can go with it! And remember electrical power like propane never goes bad!

  • Defective Chain Oiler Mechanism on 2 units
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
The automatic oiler on the saw does not work. This happened on the first unit and again on the second unit. I really wanted this item as I had great success with their 48 volt chainsaw, which lasted for several years. It is a lightweight, powerful unit, ideal for my task of cutting the thousands of invasive Privet on my property. Neither unit put out even a drop of oil. I used a good chain oil, bought from a respected retailer. Be cautious of loose bolts, as both units had loose bolts on the chain holding mechanism. ... show more

  • not working the first time trying to use it
Size: 14" (2.5Ah)
It did not work! I charged up the battery and tried it out..., but nothing happened. Several times, I removed and replaced the battery, but it is still not running. I tried another battery, but it is still not running. The 'help' section does not help troubleshoot what's wrong. Disappointed that the new, out-of-the-box chainsaw is only suitable for an ornament. Edit: I went to the troubleshooting website to determine what was wrong. The automated response was not useful. I re-read the instruction book and still could not get it to work. The instructions are POORLY WRITTEN and are not clear. They should look at Ikea or Lego for hints on writing the instructions! From the manual: (It references Figure 1 on another sheet that is nothing more than a picture with a few numbers on different parts.) To start the machine: 1. Press the lock-out button (similar to gas machines, it's on the grip beside the trigger), 2. Press the trigger while you hold the lock-out button (still similar to other pieces of equipment), 3. Release the lock-out button (it stays depressed because it's linked to the trigger). WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU IS THEY HAVE A SECOND ON/OFF SWITCH in front of the bar where you place your left hand. It looks like a guard to protect your left hand. If it is in the 'off' position, the saw will not work. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE INSTRUCTIONS TO INDICATE THIS FEATURE! In addition, another commenter mentioned that the bar nuts were not tight. One of the two on my saw could be removed with my fingers. And the chain was so overtightened that it was terribly noisy. I suggest that you test the assembly of the bar and the tightness of the chain before use. Another point, I purchased the saw in March 2025, the manufacturing date of the saw is Feb. 2022! Is this old stock? ... show more
