I was going to buy the 440 but after reading reviews on both, decided to go with the Rancher 450 and a little more power. It came as one piece in poor packaging with little packing material so the bar had been driven through the side of the container. I checked it over and it appeared undamaged. I removed the chain protector, added chain oil and premixed gas. It started right up using the starting procedure. I have used it to cut oak, black cherry, pine and poplar and have been very happy with the results with this variety of soft and hardwood. Restarting the Rancher after using it for awhile was very easy if you follow the directions. I thought it was a little heavy but after using it, I found that the weight helped with the power while cutting so it's a good combination. Cleaning, oiling and maintaining the bar and chain are all easily done. Overall, I am very happy with the quality and ease of use of the Rancher 450. ... show more

I got this chainsaw to cut down and chop up two large pine trees. The Rancher 450 did its job without any issues. Each tree was about 16-18 inches wide at the trunk and about 30+ feet tall. The chainsaw never once seized or got stuck while cutting. I was concerned about that weight of the chainsaw as I had to cut for about 3 hours. However, that was never any issue. It was light enough to use for longer periods of time. But, I never felt as though the chainsaw was lacking in quality. I extremely pleased with my purchase. Have other saws and like the way this is made. Good investment for me. Had three pine stumps I wanted to cut down below ground level. After digging the dirt away, the saw cut them easy. Most other saws I have owned leaked oil and made a mess. Good to go with this one.

I’ve been using a Remington Outlaw the last few years, from Bimart. I finally killed it yesterday with this big fir. I received Husq today and have already cut the rest of the tree up. bought this saw and used it for 5 mins and chain came off. chain would not go back on. Got frustrated and put saw into corner and went and bought a stihl. Got it out today feb 2 2024 and took it a repair shop. the only thing wrong with it was that the NEW CHAIN WAS THE WRONG SIZE. Thanks for doing a bad job of quality control on this saw. I bought a chain thst SHOULD have been on it and now its fine. If you want chain that came with it let me know where to send it because i have abosolutly NO USE for it.
