I've had this for a while but used it for the 1st Time Today. I've owned a Husquvarna Chain Saw for several Years now & figured if the Weed Trimmer worked as well as the Chain Saw has for Me it would be worth the purchase. It Did Not Disappoint ! - Cautionary Note : It'll Wear You Out !!! If You're Man Or Woman enough to use it, it will do the Job ! I don't know if this is considered to be a commercial Trimmer or not but I'd consider it to be. It is somewhat on the heavy side compared to others I've used, but it'll get the job done if You can handle it. The trigger that operates the head takes some effort to get used to due to it being on the underside of the shaft & the weight of the Trimmer pressing down while in use. The only need I can see as of now is I'm going to have to adjust the idle up a little as it has a tendency to shut off if You're not giving it a little gas to keep it going. All I can say about it at this point is if it gives Me as good of service as the Husquvarna 455 Rancher Chain Saw has, it will be money well spent as the Saw is the best I've ever owned. Best, PawPaw C Update : I have used this a good bit now, & it is a cutting 'Mochine !!! The only 2 quirks that I can see on this Trimmer are-as mentioned previously is the Trigger that operates the Head is in an awkward location as it is on the underside of the Shaft & the weight of the Trimmer is constantly pressing downward (Gravity) & the Trigger being sensitive to use it makes it difficult to keep the speed regulated while in use - it's in a constant state of wanting to run wide open & as good as this Trimmer cuts that just isn't necessary. Looks like to Me that there should be some type of throttle control that Husquvarna could come up with where You could "set it & forget it" instead of the Trigger type that's on it now. Another thing I don't particularly like is the bump type head, it would be more user friendly if it came with the type that uses the short lengths of pre cut Trimmer line that You replace when needed. There are several aftermarket Suppliers that offer these which I'm already looking into as a replacement. Again, this is an excellent Trimmer with just a couple of tweaks that would make it perfect IMO - No complaints with the performance as it'll get the job done ! Best, PawPaw C

Totally awesome item. Heavier then expected ( my fault first one has powered ). Hard to load a lot of string. Works great as long as the string doesn't hit a solid thing as in a house, fence, foundation or anything. If it does you best have lots of extra string. You will go through it quickly If you can do clean trimming I would buy this in a heartbeat

This is my second purchase of this model string trimmer. The first one I got at Lowes. It lasted about 18 months when it stopped performing well. In that 18 months it got a real workout, comparable to what a professional landscaper might subject it to. I have 87 acres of mostly woods, with 6 miles of hike and bike trails that I maintain, as well as the area around my house. Up until the end this trimmer performed flawlessly. It started easily, was stingy with gas, and went through grass and weeds with a ferocious appetite. I used .105 size string in it, which lasts a lot longer than the smaller stuff. It was fairly easy to load new string onto the spool. Although it has a bumper device for feeding new string, I never use it as intended. Instead, I manually push the bumper and pull out just the amount of string I need. There is very little waste this way and the bumper will last almost forever. I just make sure the head is not spinning when I do this. Safest thing is to turn off the motor, but I don't. So, my second one, which just came from Amazon, saving me about $30, fired right up and worked as I expected. If it lasts 18 months or more I'll be happy.

This trimmer is good. It starts every time and the trimmer line is strong like wire. It goes through high grass without hesitation. The only problem is that it sometimes spontaneously shuts off requiring a manual restart. I don’t know if it is overheating or is starved of fuel because of the position of the fuel tank when being used. It restarts easily and then runs fine.

Solid piece of fine Swedish craftsmanship. Powerful engine. Easy starting. I expect to get years of service out of it. The string trimmer head is of a very convenient design that does not require removal or any tools to add new line when needed. You simply line up two marks, push the new line through so that the line is equal on both sides, and turn the head to wind the new line aboard. Piece of cake. One “negative” comment…Amazon says that it can accept shaft extensions for other types of jobs, such as a pruning saw, etc.; even mentioning some Ryobi equipment that are more economical. It cannot. They make such a unit but it uses proprietary extensions that only fit their machine. It’s a fair amount more expensive.

I’m not a pro landscaper, I don’t do dozens of lawns each week, I don’t use my line trimmer to clear cut forests. My home sits on 1.5 acres of land that I mow/trim on a pretty typical schedule. This trimmer is an excellent tool for my usage. It starts up easily, every time - just follow the instructions on the housing. It runs like a champ, and feels comfortable for me (6’2”). Just move the adjustable handle to suit you. Use the right mix of fuel. Use good line. And use the tool for its intended purpose - trimming! I know every time I go out to do the lawn I will pull the trimmer out of the shed, has it up, and go get it done. No hassles, no issues, no delays. It just does the job well. And then I put it away until the next time I do the lawn. If you use a line trimmer for a living, you’re not going to consider this unit - it’s not for your duty cycle. This is a homeowner grade line trimmer and I’m a homeowner that needs to trim. If I didn’t have it already, I’d definitely buy it.

UPDATE: to the JUNK I got. Called Husqvarna. They said ship it back. This ITEM CAN NOT BE RETURNED TO AMAZON once filled with gas. So called back and talked to Husqvarna. Their brain dead. Sad it has to be shipped back or wait the 30 day until the return period ends and warranty kicks in. Wait....WHAT? they offer NO SOLUTIONS. Stated my claim and they were super staunch on their policy. So now, I got a boat anchor. I learnt my lesson the hard way. I'm shocked no one else has reported this. I've called them three times. The "authorized repair shop" said it was about $125 usual fix and three weeks to get it in because so many new ones are coming in and a week fix. What! That's two months to wait to use my product. So we've determined that we will be producing a youtube video on smashing it after showing the defects and posting the call recorded audio. So we will see how it holdup to 15 foot drops off the roof and being run over. Stay tuned! JUNK. I wish I could say great things, I really really wanted to in the worst way. I wanted to love this weed whip made by a "reputable" company. Got it delivered. Followed the set up instructions to a T. Even got exactly 1 gallon of non oxy premium gas. Assembled it, put gas in her, pumped the bulb 10 times like it said. Followed the instructions exactly, and it wouldn't idle, hesitates and kills at full throttle. Then when you do get it running it won't maintain high speed throttle, just "wavers" up and down in throttle. Never ever did idle after that. You'd think that right outta the factory this stuff would work, but it doesn't. So I went out to Menards and got their cheap red wrangler $75 cheap weed whip, brought her home. Dam thing started right up and ran like an angel. Idles like a dream. I guess you DO NOT get what you pay for in the weed whip world. I called the husky dealership here because I have saws that work good. He said the only product he would never recommend spending $$$ on is a weed whip and definately not a husky. He said my wrangler from menards is just as good, but much much less in price. Packed up this husky and ready to send back. Not worth the money or the hassle. Don't say I warned ya!
