I thought this was a very powerful fan. Not quite hurricane force, but you could definitely feel strong airflow from about 15 feet away. Super simple to put together. Durable material and no rattling. It does make a pretty good hum when used, but no more than what would be expected to produce that much airflow. I bought this fan last year in October because my room stays hot because of my gaming PC and I can’t sleep at night without a fan. It was working fine till tonight and the whole fan just decided to die. Amazon couldn’t help me cause they said I purchased the wrong protection plan which i don’t see how so now I got to wait till the morning to see if the company will replace my fan. If they do I’ll update my review, if they don’t I’m not changing anything cause I had fans I bought from Walmart last well past a year and it’s a good fan it kept my room cool and close to freezing at night on high and oscillating but will not give it no more than 1 star till I see if the company will replace my fan. (Update) Got in touch with the company and they are gonna send me out a replacement. Hopefully this one last longer cause its great fan and I had no problems with it but I'm changing it to four stars cause the person I talked to was real helpful and its actual a great fan just subtracting a star because it died in 7 months. ... show more

This fan is excellent if you need to move A LOT of air very quickly and noise is not a concern. I bought this to help dry my carpets after carpet cleaning. It was everything I hoped it would be - my carpets were completely dry after running this fan overnight. There is no "low" speed setting, just 3 variations of fast.
