Description

Dempsey Cassius Crestfield Kennicott Original What direction should a ceiling fan spin in summer and winter? In summer, a ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise to create a cooling breeze. In winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise at a low speed to help circulate warm air, improve comfort, and support energy efficiency. How do I choose the right ceiling fan size for my room? Choose a ceiling fan based on room size: - Small rooms (up to 100 sq. ft.): 29–36 inches - Medium rooms (100–300 sq. ft.): 42–52 inches - Large rooms (300+ sq. ft.): 54 inches or larger How do you measure a ceiling fan? Ceiling fans are measured by their blade span (diameter) from tip to tip. For fans with an odd number of blades, measure from the center of the fan to one blade tip and multiply by two to determine the full blade span. Do ceiling fans help lower energy costs? Yes, energy efficient ceiling fans help lower energy costs by improving air circulation. In summer, they allow you to raise your thermostat while maintaining comfort. In winter, they help distribute warm air more evenly throughout the room. Where should you use indoor, damp-rated, and wet-rated ceiling fans? Damp-rated fans: In addition to dry space, can be used in covered outdoor areas like porches or bathrooms with moisture. Wet-rated fans: In addition to dry and damp spaces, can be used in fully exposed outdoor areas like patios or pergolas.

  • Incredible Ceiling Fan!
Color: Matte Black
I love this ceiling fan! I got it to replace my old Hunter Cavera II, and it is an incredible upgrade! It’s silent, strong, and good-looking! It took about 10 minutes to put up, as I had to make a few more improvements while I was in there, and I definitely noticed its weight; it's a hefty little fan, especially for a DC fan, though that doesn't matter once it's up. Overall, it's a 10/10 fan from a great fan company! ... show more

  • Great fan, good materials, fantastic instructions
Color: Matte Black
I was apprehensive when initially buying this from the reviews. **PACKAGING** Packaging came great. There was no outer box, so just be careful if you live in a high traffic area as the contents will be displayed. Everything in the box was intuitively labeled, and nicely compartmentalized. Nothing was broken, and there was even a separate baggie for extras! **INSTALL** The install was relatively easy. The biggest pain in the butt was getting the blades on, but it's like that for every fan to be honest. For the wires, I HIGHLY suggest using WAGO connectors. They made my life an absolute breeze with this. The twist connectors come loose, especially as the fan wires are stranded compared to the house wires which are solid. WAGO connectors let me be super quick about it and allowed for neat organization. The original fan that was on was a headache to install, but this one was relatively easy. Highly enjoyed it. **FAN OPERATION** I bought this fan for Homekit connectivity and was scared of the different gremlins that would rear their head during install. That said, I scanned the code first (DID NOT INSTALL THE APP YET) located on the instructions (also on the fan itself AND the remote!) and Homekit automatically added it in and I was good to go! Dimming, fan speed, and more can all be operated via remote, but also through Homekit! I can even change the direction of the fan in Home! I downloaded the Hunter SimpleConnect app AFTER adding the fan to my Home. The Hunter SimpleConnect app is actually pretty good. To be fair, I am more tech savvy but after creating my account, there really wasn't much I needed to do. The fan automatically added itself and when I went to check on the firmware updates, it states in plain language that updates are regularly pushed. Great UX. The fan is FAST. It's great! There is a really light hum but it is not annoying and I forgot it was there after 5 minutes. I gave it 4/5 stars for that as I know some people will find that annoying. The lights are powered by bulbs so if what you were given does not operate how you like, then you can change them out. This is SO much better than most new fans that are integrated LEDs. Great design choice here. There are an amazing amount of different levels of customization for this fan which is really nice! I wish they printed them on the remote or on the battery cover because I know I'm going to lose the piece of paper. **FINAL THOUGHTS** I like this fan, and I have another 4 ordered and on the way to replace my current setup which includes using Homebridge to link them into Homekit. Good fans, good install. I will update if the fans break or if there's anything that comes up in the future. ... show more

  • Excellent Fan
Color: Matte Black
The fan was easy to put together; the instructions were easy to follow. Packaged very well & all the parts needed were there. Very quiet when running. Light is nice and bright on 100% setting. Absolutely love the smart controls & you can change winter/summer through the app. Also love that I can sync it to my Apple Home app. Plus it comes with a remote. Great price for the value. ... show more

  • Good Fan - however there are other details - read below
Color: Matte Silver
I rarely write reviews anymore so pay attention when I do. I’ve purchased two of these fans the past few weeks. The first install went smoothly in the bedroom. Easy to install and follow instructions and easy to wire and I used only HomeKit to connect to my network - not the Hunter app. I did have someone to help with the first install but not the second install. I was replacing two 20 year old+ fans with two switch converting to a single wall switch controlling the power. I haven’t installed a fan before so it took a few hours to take down the old one and install the new one for both installs. The second fan was not so easy as you’ll see below and the wiring was a slightly different. Caveat - if you purchase more than one of these when you setup Alexa/HomeKit etc. you must turn off other fans in your house. This is mentioned in the instructions somewhere and online. This was something that I missed and took me a while to figure out why it was not connecting to the HomeKit. The second issue is the second fan light did not turn on at all. I went back and forth with wiring initially ensuring I had the correct wiring which I did. Then I went with Hunter via email to resolve the issue which took roughly two weeks in total. First we replaced the light kit -not the issue- then we replaced the entire fan through hunter and I reinstalled everything again. No charge at all from Hunter and I had to return the defective fan entirely free of charge. After the full replacement everything worked fine until they both were no longer seen on the network this week. I read other reviews and decided to forced them on the 2.4 gz network today by adjusting a configuration in my router. Only Time will tell if these stay online and working. It’s a good looking fan with good features at this price point however there are definitely some reliability concerns. Edit 9/5/2022 It’s been about a week. The fans are no longer on the network. I’ve setup IP address reservations and verified I’m using compatible WiFi encryption however they were dropped again after 24 hours. I’m continuing to try additional options to figure out why they are dropped. Edit 9/9/2022 So it’s been another week. I downloaded the Hunter simple connect app, perused the horrible UI and somehow the firmware automatically updated to version 1.10.41 and this version seems stable and consistently connected to my home network. I did remove the IP reservation config but kept the setting to force them on the 2.4 ghz network. I’m bumping up one star for now Hopefully this will be the last update. ... show more

  • Great ceiling fan and love the smart end of it
Color: Matte Black
I replace my old ceiling fan with this ceiling fan because my old one I never took care of it; never dusted it, the motor probably burnt out, and the bulb sockets loose and the screw part is off. I wanted to do a little upgrading to my room to have more smart stuff and saw this got it on sale when it was $130. Heard people to not get a smart fan because they're not worth the hassle and they're little loud. Saw reviews saying otherwise so I bite the bullet. When I got it replacing my old ceiling fan with this was super easy; cut the wires off the old and wire the new. As soon I got everything wired and put together, I also bought a HomePod to play with HomeKit which this fan does support. After installing the SIMPLEconnect their chat like interface didn't have me pair my fan it wanted to go ahead and connect to my HomeKit. After going through the settings went through the (I guess) old setting up and saw how to pair my fan to the app and finally got it working. Then used the chat like setup to setup with HomeKit. Once I got it setup on HomeKit and Google Home it's smooth. Now I have it on HomeKit where if I tell Siri goodnight it turns my light off for me, tell it good morning it turns the light on, when I leave the house it'll turn off the light and fan off, and when I get home it turns on the light and fan. After showing this to my dad, he wants to buy two of them for the living room and his bedroom I would recommend it. ... show more

  • AWESOME fan - very quiet, responsive hand held remote, moves the air, and sleek look!
Color: Matte Black
Definitely would buy the Hunter Aerodyne model again. Purchased at $166 on Amazon. This sleek looking (black) Aerodyne fan model is used in the main bedroom. Has a very responsive hand held remote control. Electrician also installed a wall switch for on/off during the wiring for the remodel. This fan is VERY QUIET and moves air well even at lower speeds. Have only had in use for about 3 weeks and so far it is terrific. I like to keep ceiling fans running constantly to keep air fresh and feel a breeze even if the HVAC keeps the air temp cool. Am in the deep south so I expect this fan to be running the majority of the year during the long hot spells. Plan to use in winter months too. Bought a more traditional Hunter fan model for the other bedrooms and wish I'd gotten this model instead -- the Aerodyne pleasantly surprised me --- I didn't expect to like the sleeker look as much as I do now that it's installed. Also, the Aerodyne model comes with a hand held remote and I had to buy the remote unit and have electricians install in the other bedroom fans. Builder Elite models in other bedrooms are a great fan, however it's a totally different aesthetic and operation-- the hand held remote function is an optional, added charge and device on Builder Elite models. My fault for not getting the Aerodyne model first because I became a big fan of it (pun intended). ... show more

  • Its a big waste of money if you choose t purchase this item.
Color: Matte Black
This has t be the worst fan I have ever owned, remote works horribly. After 3-5 min fan light will turn itself on after I turn it off or it will turn off after I turn it on. Whenever it choses t do so. Fan itself will change speeds. Hunter was of absolutely no help as to the problem. With that being said I could not return as the return window had closed so it us what it is a piece of junk that has no consistancy to it operation. I have had other remote fans that functioned better and some worse. Trying t find a decent fan that just uses a wall switch for light and a speed switch for fan is almost imposible that fits my space or decor. Never could get it to connect to wifi. I do have capability of 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Just a POS Personal opinion is the remote fans are a waste most cannot be rewired to be used with basic wall switches because there is no way to reverse as there is no reverse switch. And to hire an electrician t rewire nd install a reversing switch is not feasible as itll cost more than trying to find and purchase a new fan. Conclusion this fan isnt worth the cash spent or the aggrivation of its opperation. ID NOT RECOMMEND THIS FAN TO ANYONE. STAY AWAY LOOK FOR SOMETHING THATS RELIABLE AND PROBABLY FOR LESS MONEY SPENT ... show more
