I bought this for my 8 year old son. I ordered it from Amazon at a good price. Not from a third-party seller. The box arrived in perfect condition, and the bike had no damage or scratches of any kind. It arrived mostly assembled. The remaining assembly was easy. Only the brake and derailleur adjustments are somewhat tricky. The manual for the bike had poor or inaccurate instructions on how to adjust the rear derailleur. I'm not sure why it instructs you to loosen the cable clamp nut when adjusting the low side. When doing so, it would allow the derailleur to shift away from the wheel making it impossible to adjust the low setting of the derailleur. After struggling with this, I looked up a YouTube video on adjusting the derailleur. After this bit of independent research, the adjustment was smooth and easy. Just don't loosen the cable clamp nut before setting the low adjusting screw. The bike now shifts smoothly and quickly through all gears. Last comment. I also bought a similar bike pre-assembled from Wal-Mart around the same time. The pre-assembled bike had the front wheel on backwards and still needed the brake and derailleur adjustments. Basically, even though that bike was "pre-assembled," I had to go back over the only somewhat tricky steps of buying a boxed bike. I highly recommend taking any biking, pre-assembled or otherwise, to a bike shop if you don't feel you can adequately make the brake and derailleur adjustments. We want our kids to be able to fully enjoy the bike and also be as safe as possible. ... show more

I found it relatively easy to put together. Only real issue for me was the one break line didn't come attached to the handle/pull lever and was a little difficult to figure out, especially since it's not in the instructions... but, I still had it assembled and adjusted in about 30 minutes... not sure how/why it took others an hour or 2. Box was pretty beat up when it arrived, but the bike was in good condition. Again, looks great, seems well built, and my 8 year old loves it. ... show more

Product is great, Amazon shipping it usps is the dumbest thing ever. I live in rual America where a bycle won't fit into our mail carriers vehicle causing me having to drive the 15 miles into town to rent a truck so I can haul the bike home because if I can't pick it up it gets sent back.... so thanks Amazon, I ordered a bike for my kiddos birthday from you so it could be delivered to my door, only for it to cost me more money to rent a truck to get it home. ... show more

    • Good + minor obnoxious bugs.
I bought two of these bikes due to seeing many reviews that it often become damaged during shipping. I didn’t want to wait for several weeks for a second one to arrive after I discover the first one broken. The first bike assembled fine. Took a little elbow grease to get front brake working (used 4 hands to set it right) I did not encounter any of the problems with broken parts or shipping damage. If I had to complain about anything it would be a few very minor problems that seem very obnoxious. Both the front and the rear reflectors were installed upside down. The shifter on the right side was installed in a way that made positioning the brake very difficult. The wires end up tangled up if you just moved it to the right position. The shifter wire leaves the shifter exactly where the brake needs to be and it cannot be moved very easily. I left the wires twisted and did my best to position the brake. Finally, the shifter is very stiff, way too stiff for a child to operate. The bike is not the lightest bike this size. However it is also by far not the heaviest bike. Definitely worth a try with Amazon’s free return, it is great. I may even keep the second bike for a much younger child if it assembles problem free. Good luck with your purchase. ... show more

We put this bike together for Christmas and when my son jumped on it the handlebars jiggled and were wobbly. We received parts that we thought would fix the issue but it didn’t. I just took it to the bike smith and he said “this bike is unsafe to ride and he can’t fix it”. Now I’m stuck with a broken bike I can’t send back. ... show more

This is the easiest bike I've ever put together!! No instructions needed. Slide the forks into the neck of the frame, slide the handlebars down into the neck of the frame, allign and tighten 1 bolt. Screw on the pedals and slide the seat on and tighten. That's it!!! All the tools to put it together are included. It arrived nicely packaged with no damage. My only complaint is the tread design. Not sure how well they will grip on dirt trails. ... show more

    • Bike is great. Seat was damaged. Too much of a pain to get an exchange.
The bike is great, HOWEVER.... the seat came mangled and cut and when I called Amazon they wouldn't send me a replacement seat, they wanted me to take the entire bike apart (took about an hour to assemble) put it back in the box and mail it back and when they received it they would send another bike. Makes no sense at all to wait a week plus when they could send a seat in 2 days. I ordered a new seat on my own which cost another 21.99 making the bike a pretty pricey purchase in the end. They bike itself is great, meets all description details but the damaged seat was a HUGE inconvenience and I wasnt catcall happy with their way if addressing the issue. My child needs that bike for this Sunday to go to a mountain trail ride bday party. ... show more

    • Awful kickstand, Huffy support very slow, and seems never willing to make things right

First bicycle came with missing parts. Then second bicycle came with very hard to move kickstand, and now cannot move it at all, and Huffy customer service, which take 4-5 days to answer email, is not willing to take care of the problem under warranty. Also bicycle come with shifter off, so the chain getting out. Other bicycle in similar price range like from Hiland and Camping, has better quality of product, and better customer service. ... show more
