I got the RoyalBaby Freestyle Kids Bike (20 inch, pink) for my daughter, and she’s over the moon with it! It’s been such a hit, and I’m super impressed with how well-made and easy to set up this bike is—definitely a great pick for kids ages 6-10. Right out of the box, this bike was a breeze to put together. It came about 95% pre-assembled, so I just had to attach the handlebars, seat, pedals, and fenders. The instructions were clear, and it took maybe 15 minutes. The pink color is vibrant and exactly what my daughter wanted—she loves showing it off! The BMX-inspired design looks sporty and cool, and it comes with a water bottle and holder, which she thinks is the best part. The bike feels sturdy with its steel frame and 2.4-inch wide tires, which give her great stability on pavement and even some light gravel in our neighborhood. The dual hand brakes are a big plus—no coaster brake here, which I love because it’s easier for her to get the hang of stopping smoothly. Other parents on Amazon mentioned the brakes are well-adjusted from the factory, and I found that to be true; they worked perfectly right away. The adjustable seat and handlebars are awesome since she’s still growing, so this bike should last her a few years. This is the perfect balance bike for young kids to learn to ride. Perfect size for my four year old soon to be five year old. The pedals are easy to install when they are ready. Aside from shipping delays- this has been the best purchase! Love that it has the guardian bike qualities (balance bike to pedals bike) for much less price! Extremely easy to go between pedals to balance bike to practice- takes about a minute and no tools to switch back and forth. After riding balance bike a while, I was able to train my newly 4 year old to pedal on his own (no training wheels needed!) within one hour with a towel method (google it). I chose this brand of bike for my son because they come with high quality training wheels. My son is a small adult, but has issues that keep him from riding a regular bike. He's outgrown his strider bike, and really wanted a real bike and learn how to pedal. The bike itself was relatively easy to assemble and seems like excellent heavy duty quality. However, it was disappointing to find that the 20" bike does not come with training wheels as stated. There was a customer service tag included that said to go to Royal Baby Amazon page to get accessories "like training wheels for 18"/20" bike" however, they do not sell their "never bent" ones as an accessory after all. I tried to call the customer service number, and there was no answer, and would automatically hang up. I had to find a set of heavy duty ones elsewhere for $38 which added to the cost of the bike in general, and made it less value for money spent. ... show more

    • Great bike, amazing customer service

We purchased this bike for our son who just learned to ride a bike this summer. We decided on the Freestyle 5 because of the front and back hand brakes versus the pedal brakes most kids bikes offer. He has an older brother who has a mountain bike that changes gears and can pedal backwards. This was a good compromise to getting him a bike that fit him without needing the different gears at his age. About 2 months into riding his bike the chain started falling off every single time he rode it. I tried everything I could think of and even things YouTube suggested with getting the tension correct. It didn’t change anything, the chain kept coming off. It really seemed like the bearings had dirt or sand in them and it was in an enclosed casing that I couldn’t access with the tools I have. My son was disappointed, sad, and mad because even if he rode his bike for a few minutes to play with friends he was left behind when his chain would inevitably come off. I decided as a last ditch effort to reach out to RoyalBaby and find out if they had parts I could purchase to get him back on his bike. After a few weeks and several emails back and forth RoyalBaby sent us a whole new bike! I was flabbergasted! We could not be more happy with how the customer service department has helped us with this issue. We are beyond grateful and I don’t want to sound like we are not but I just want to mention we were sent the Freestyle 3 which has a different braking system than that of the Freestyle 5. The 3 has the coasting pedal brakes you push back to stop with and the 5 has the front and back hand brakes. Depending on your child and what they prefer to do when they brake while biking is what bike I would suggest to purchase. They look almost identical besides the way you stop. I would definitely recommend this bike brand and their customer service has been extraordinary! UPDATE- I switched my 4 star to a 5 star review. I had emailed RoyalBaby back thanking them for the bike and politely letting them know it was not the same model and we would do our best with the model they sent us but my son is not use to the pedal coasting brakes so he was having a hard time with it. THEY SENT ANOTHER BIKE IN THE CORRECT MODEL!!! I cannot say more nice things about the customer service of this company! They went above and beyond and we are so grateful for them rectifying a situation that may or may not have been a manufacturer defect! Thank you so much Royalbaby!
