Where I chase elk, E-bikes aren't allowed. I agree with the rule. Too many hunters are super lazy these days, shooting from the road, from a truck, or trespassing through private property. I digress... Anyway, this bike is relatively light. But not the cheap kind of light. The kind of light that comes from lots of R&D where a focus was geared towards building with the highest quality parts, instead of adding unnecessary comforts like shocks.(tires properly inflated are all the suspension you should need... more parts equals more stuff to break or go wrong leaving you stranded or pushing your bike through the back country) the frame is rigid, basic, and bombproof. It shifts through all gears effortlessly, rides smooth and brakes on a dime. Mongoose has been around for a while. I don't think the are going anywhere. There are definitely less expensive options, but you get what you pay for. I am happy with my purchase, and am sure this bike will help me fill my meat freezer for years to come. ... show more

This bike is even better than I was expecting. I got the 19” and it’s great. I’m on the taller side of 6’2 and the bike fits me perfectly. I’ve ridden it both with the saddle all the way down and with it fully extended, and it’s great both ways. I switch it up for the different types of riding I do. I also stripped almost all of the stickers off, and I just kept the main “Argus trail” on the top tube and the “M” on the head tube. Everything else is gone and it looks so good imo. Everything works smoothly, and the seat is even somewhat comfortable. And it just looks so awesome. Solid parts and construction, and it came safety wrapped to the absolute limit. Foam sheets wrapped around everything and taped, then cardboard paper wrapped around that and taped, then zip tied together in a box with spacers so nothing moved around. The gears might need some tuning which is normal, but if you don’t know how, there’s videos on YouTube that will walk you through the process. A++ all around and great value for the money Update: This bike is still amazing. I’ve ridden through just about everything you can imagine, except for snow cuz it isn’t winter yet. ... show more

So far on day 1 it gets 5 stars. Arrived on time without any damages. Assemhly was very easy insert the seatpost/seat, bolt on the front tire, attach your right and left pedals which come with labels because your left pedal is threaded opposite so lefty tighty, righty loosy the right pedal is standard righty tighty. I am about 5,10 185 pounds and the 17 inch frame fits me perfectly! Had to slightly adjust the front break pads to eliminate a slight rub on the rotors but it wasn't hard at all. Out of the box the shifter needed 0 adjustment and shifts very smooth however it is a grip shifter so its a little easy to accidentally shift gears when you aren't trying to. Other than that the bike is very solid and rides very nice the brakes aren't amazing but its easy to swap your brake pads down the road. All in all i highly recommend this bike. ... show more

Bought the mongoose argus trail 19" frame fat bike. It was delivered Nov 21 and I've had a couple issues that have made me decide to return it. First day, assembly was fairly straight forward. Put the front tire on, handlebars, and seat. Rode the back around the yard checking out the gearing and the chain broke. This was disheartening as that part of the bike comes pre-assembled. I took it to a local bike repair shop to have the chain fixed and have them look over the bike to make sure everything seemed OK. That was over $100. Got the bike back after a few days and was excited to start riding. Rode through my woods (4 wheeler trails, wide open, no debris, no rough usage). Put the bike away. The next morning I wake up and the rear wheel is flat. Thinking it may have been due to rapid weather change over night I filled it back up and rode it around the yard a bit. It seemed OK. Two hours later, flat again. I know this bike wasn't top of the line, but to have these issues within 2 weeks of arriving, and for an $800+ bike, that's unacceptable. It's been rode for less than 60 minutes total. It will be sent back to Amazon. ... show more

Ok, here I go.... I don't know where to start. I had pretty high good expectations with this bike. It is certainly a very nice looking bike but.... one of the things I decided to buy this one was because in the description says ITEM WEIGHT 30 LBS. No, isn't. It is almost 37 Lbs. It was pretty easy to assemble but it needs some adjustments anyway by a professional; the chain and speed changes, is not getting the most little disc. I tested it today, did a ride around 10miles. The last 2 miles the pedals had a weird sound combined with some other weird sounds in the chain. The brakes sounds sandy from the very beginning. It has some peelings with some sharp liftings all around the metal rim in both wheels. Looks like whoever did mount the wheels, they did a sloppy job; they used a sharped tool that lifted the black coating and left exposed the metal. Just because of this, I think I'll be returning this Bike. See pictures attached from both wheels. I'll keep testing it a little bit more and let you know guys what else. ... show more
