    • Not cheap but it's the gold standard for an EV charger
Don't cheap out on the receptacle for your EV charger. This Hubbell receptacle has a v-shaped backstop for the screw down clamps so you get a solid and secure connection to your 6 AWG THHN wiring that you'll be using without individual strands sloppily flattening out and escaping off to the side. It's also built to be repeatedly plugged into and out without wearing out, deforming, or weakening the interior contact points. This receptacle is deep.     • Returned the Bryant version and got the Hubbell in the end.
I first tried to save a few bucks since the Bryant version was cheaper but when I tried to torque the screws to 75in lbs, the screw tread stripped inside and it just kept spinning. Returned the Bryant version and bought this Hubbell instead and torqued to 75in lbs no problem. Don't forget to purchase a larger wall plate as well. The Leviton I replaced was 2.15" in diameter, but the Hubbell will need a 2.654" diameter wall plate. ... show more
