  • Great printer, but do read the review about support
The printer was purchased for my wife to use with her business. She had issues and simply would not use it; she kept going back to an older HP Printer that had its own set of issues but printed better than this. So, there were a small number of print jobs on it when I decided to see what was going on. I should have done this sooner. I saw that there were serious print issues that I could not resolve. So, I contacted HP Support, and they went through things with me. In the end, they shipped a replacement printer. All is well with the replacement printer. Excellent print quality, and scan quality. All is well and I highly recommend, as always, HP Printers. The most important feature of a purchase is support, and I must say that HP excelled in this area. ... show more

  • Its amazing!
I have had this printer for over a year now. It has been wonderful. I use it quite often. The photos are great quality. If youre low on ink, dont bother printing photos until you replace ink since it will make the photos look horrible. Thats my only advice. Its still going strong a year later.

  • IF YOU DONT LIKE MONEY - BUY THIS
Bought this so I could make a photo album for my wife for Christmas. Downloaded over 20k worth of pictures and videos. Stored them all on my hard drive. Sorted all the pictures into categories. Took a few weeks to do. Went back and started picking the ones I wanted to print for her. About 400 pictures in- and (6) 64XL Color Cartridges and 1(HP Color Instant Ink) cartridge (only used 1 HP Instant Ink Black cartridge) My printer received an error code. I contact HP tech support via chat. Took over 20 minutes in a chat to actually get to the problem. I even logged into my HP account from the start so they would have all my information. Still needed to provide it in the chat. After 1 hour the tech support person had me running the same steps over and over to no avail. Then wanted to remote log into my computer- Uhhh no thanks. I said a few things in the chat I am not proud of. BUT I vowed to never again buy HP printers or products. I seem to have problems with HP printers around the 400-500 page mark. This was my 4th HP printer in 8 years. I have just been too stubborn to switch. BUT hey- if you like wasting money, and going through ink like water, then this is the printer for you. I was so desperate to get ink, that I was running into Office Depot(shiver) to buy ink. Thanks goodness they price matched Amazon, and saved me a few bucks. Ink is not cheap. I think the ink used for this printer is hand crafted by Elves in the Brazilian rain forest only on full moons. It has to be based on the prices they charge for it. So 6 regular XL ink cartridges, and 1 instant ink cartridge for 400 pages. That equals about 57 pages per cartridge and the cartridges are about $55 a piece, so a little more than $1.00 per page to print a photo. I could go to a printing company and not actually have to do all the work. Just pop my stuff on a flash drive, take it in and say, print this. It would be the same cost. That's not even taking into account the cost of the paper. That is about $0.50 a sheet. So $1.50 per photo. Print quality was ok on it. I did use HP Premium photo paper Glossy 60lb weight. I printed 8x10s, 5x7's and 4x6's. At first the 4x6's in the main paper tray were printing out crooked and the photos were not lined up right. I switched to photo tray and same problem. I wasted about 10 4x6 pictures trying to get it right. Eventually I had to use the main photo tray to get the 4x6 to work. The 8x10 and 5x7 were no problem. Just sucked through ink. So HP I say farewell, its not me, it's you. Its been 20 years of disappointment and frustration, but this time I mean it, we are done. Don't try to come back to me later saying you're good, and you worked on yourself and we can make it work again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me 20x+ for 20+ years, shame on me. ... show more

  • It is a great machine if you survive the set up!
This printer produces excellent quality documents quickly and scanning is easy. I have not used it to print photos. I would give it 5 stars except I am still recovering from the set up. The HP Smart app is decidedly not smart at all. I have strong wifi and even with my laptop and modem within two feet of the printer, I had a very sluggish, balky response going through the set up. Eventually, the printer set up just got stuck. After trying all kinds of remedies to include powering off and on, unplugging the power cord at both ends, deleting and reinstalling the HP Smart app and repeating all of this for a couple hours, I contacted HP Chat. That was a hassle as well because I had to register for an account and that did not go smoothly. Even after my email was verified, the HP server still didn’t recognize me. I kept trying and got lucky. After about 20 minutes, I finally connected with an excellent technician who solved my issues in about 25 minutes. With his help, I was able to set up the printer. Even then, what the printer asked on the screen did not conform with the steps the tech was asking me to take. Once the printer seemed to get some attention from the HP server it was communicating with, it raced ahead of the steps the tech was asking me to follow. About an hour later, the printer updated the drivers automatically (it took 45 minutes) and all is well. Setting up a printer shouldn’t be this hard. If you buy this printer, just be sure to set enough time aside to deal with potential set up issues even when you follow all the app prompts accurately. I have installed many printers and this was, by far, the most difficult because the HP Smart software did not perform well at all. I wished I could have set up this printer without it. I did not receive lots of prompts to join HP+ or Instant Ink as some other reviewers have. ... show more

  • Sharp, clear prints; easy setup
So far, so good! This printer was easy to set up. It doesn’t seem as solid as the 10-year-old HP all-in-one deskjet it’s replacing, but since I don’t intend for it to leave the table it sits on, I don’t think that will be an issue. Printed colors are sharp, clear and bright. Duplex printing has an annoying pause between sides. Initially I didn’t click in one of the ink cartridges properly, which caused a paper jam error, but it was easily resolved. It was also easy to add this printer to my InstantInk account. I have a love-hate relationship with InstantInk, which made me look seriously at other printer manufacturers, but I kept coming back to HP for features like color printing, automatic duplex printing, photo image quality and price. I also figure that if the HP printer I’m replacing lasted almost 10 years, like the one before it, HP is a pretty good bet. ... show more

  • Great Printer! Love it!
This HP Envy printer is AMAZING! I waited to write this review until I'd had some experience using it (2 months). I use it almost every day. It's been very reliable, prints quickly, color quality is very good and I'm quite satisfied with its performance. The printer is not super heavy or bulky, so it's easy to move from place to place if necessary. Instructions for set up where clear and concise. This printer is definitely worth every penny (or nickel now) and I highly recommend it for your printing needs. ... show more

  • Nice machine
I love my HP printer machine. The only problem is that really the ink is so high in order to really print. You have to be a member of the HP printers club which I feel is a rip off. I was a member for years and I was paying each month and wasn’t using it so unless you’re going to invest in monthly Inc. that’s just not to buy an HP buy something else that you don’t have to belong to a club. ... show more
