  • Performs Well - Work Horse!
Size: 300 DPI
Every HP Product I have ever worked and performed very well. This device is no exception!

  • Great label printer, but a little pricey
Size: 203 DPI
This is an excellent label printer. We've used it for months now, with no problems whatsoever. It is stable, reliable, and fast. It was easy to set up , and feels very durable. It definitely seems like a high quality product, and it is noticeably better than other label printers that we've used. We really don't have any complaints about the product at all; they only downside is the rather high price. I think it might be possible to get a label printer that is 80% as good for about half of this price, so I'm tempted to take a star off for that; but if you are looking for the best then this is hard to beat. 4.5 / 5 ... show more

  • Amazing for online sellers! No bluetooth/wifi though.
Size: 203 DPI
I am loving this printer! I sell online through a few different channels and am printing labels daily. The label rolls for this printer are inexpensive and so far I haven't had a single jam or misprint! You do have to physically plug it into your laptop or phone or whatever - you can't send it wirelessly. For me that's not an issue because that's all in my workspace. ... show more

  • Thinking of a Label Printer? Upgrading a Tired Printer?
Size: 203 DPI
I have been servicing and programming computers since 1974. I’ve worked with many printers, and HP consistently delivers quality products. For over a decade, I relied on a Zebra LP2844 networked through an HP Print Server for 4x6 shipping labels. This new HP thermal printer not only keeps up but exceeds some capabilities. It’s direct thermal, meaning no ribbons are needed, and it uses the same label stock as my Zebra. One major advantage is the rear-feed option, allowing large rolls instead of being limited to small internal rolls. With large rolls of 4x6” labels, this feature is a welcomed improvement. NOTICE: This printer isn’t just for shipping labels! Direct thermal printing has endless possibilities with different colors, shapes, and specialty labels. I’ve printed everything from 3/4-inch round labels to standard 4x6 labels, and the HP handled them all flawlessly. There are many different choices available for label holders. Some can have the printer sit on top. In this situation, having a bottom-feed printer would be another improvement. The setup is straightforward. Since the printer doesn’t have a display panel, installation is done using HP’s software. Downloading the driver, following the instructions, and setting it up on the network ensures that anyone can easily print. USB users have a different setup application, which is just as easy to use. No surprises there! Here are a few tips: - Set print defaults on the PC and adjust settings for different label stocks as needed. - Adjust darkness settings if labels print too light or too dark. - Treat the thermal print head with care. Use quality labels to prevent buildup, and clean the print head with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free stick if streaking occurs. This HP label printer is fast, efficient, and built to last. It handles high-volume printing, works with a variety of labels, and is easy to set up and maintain. A great investment for anyone needing a dependable label printer! ... show more

  • Rock Solid, made to last. Business grade equipment
Size: 203 DPI
I spent over twenty years in the I.T. business and found that nearly everything HP makes is made to LAST. I loaded labels into this printer, fired it up, and Windows did the rest to install it on my PC. The labels it prints are razor sharp. The printer apparently indexes the labels by itself when you start it up, so your printing is aligned correctly on the labels. I'm using this printer with a USB connection but it has an Ethernet connection as well. Now that the holidays are past, I'm ready to get going with my online selling again and this printer will make the task so much easier... no more trying to get the labels to print correctly on manually-fed label stock on my laser printer. That chore has been eliminated by this HP, which has one job... printing my address labels! Two comments... first, I do wish it would work over wi-fi. I've got a document scanner which does that and it works great; there's no reason a printer like this (and at this price level) shouldn't also use wi-fi. Secondly, I've looked high and low, and nobody including HP seems to make a cover for this printer. I don't like my equipment getting dusty when I'm not using it. What I ended up doing was taking the sturdy plastic bag the printer comes wrapped in and I cut off all but nine inches of the bag, leaving me with just enough 'bag' to put over the printer when it's not in use. It's not pretty, but it fits and it works. Finally - a word of advice for this or any other thermal printer - treat that thermal print head with care! If it gets label adhesive on it somehow, use rubbing alcohol to clean it with a Q-Tip. DO NOT EVER scrape the print head, not even with your fingernail. Doing so will likely damage that part of the head and it will no longer print - the head will be ruined. Treat this piece of equipment with reasonable care and I have no doubt it will still be printing sharp labels years from now. ... show more

  • Page guides crushed my fanfold labels
Size: 203 DPI
I am very accustomed to and familiar with using HP printers, scanners, and laptops. Since I still had 400+ thermal labels in stock, I excitedly looked forward to using this label printer – especially since it said it could accommodate ANY size or brand fanfold or label roll. Setup was elementary and fast, however, I had trouble loading my fanfold labels. The blue page guides kept crushing the labels so they would not lay flat on the roller! Nothing in the HP documentation required a particular label paper weight or HP-brand label. Oh well…. it's a sturdy compact printer and I like the overall quality. ... show more
