As always with Amazon printer arrived very quickly, packed very nicely in box, very easy setup. I had HP 4100 and wanted upgrade and this is basically the same but newer printer, it is basic printer does excellent job great print quality and can print from anywhere with the wifi connection.

I'm not sure what to think of this printer. I ran into an immediate problem since my computer is on a 5 ghz network and the printer requires a 2.4ghz network (not disclosed in the ad as AFAIKT). I finally got it to work with a wired 5 ghz connection and a 2.4 ghz wireless connection to my computer but don't really understand how. It seems to require that you run your print jobs thru the HP Smart app. The process to get the printer working took a couple of hours. Edit: One of the most important things that a printer can do is make prints. That seems to be too much to ask of this machine. Another bit of weirdness is having to use print cartridges that you get by mail with a subscription from HP. I guess this is why the printer is so cheap - there's a continuous stream of income to HP from the ink cartridge subscriptions. Apparently bad stuff happens if you try to use a non-HP cartridge in it. The shipping box was very resistant to any attempts to remove the printer. I finally had to tear it apart to get the printer out. Edit 1/15/2026 Out of desperation I needed a print today so gave this printer another chance. I finally got it connected and was able to get one print made. Then it went offline again and I couldn't get another print made. This printer is no longer sold on Amazon. I guess we can figure out the reason. I'm just sorry I missed the return window. ... show more

At times it tends to stop working, in which I need to unplug it from the back for 60 seconds in order for it to print again. There's an HP app you need to download for all of your information. Other than that the print comes out very well and there's a subscription that you probably need to do so far as having paper and ink delivered to your home. ... show more

I needed a new printer. I always loved HP printers. There easy to set up and also you can apply for new ink cartridges. They send you new ones after you sign up with them. I also get their printer paper . Its only 10 dollars a month. Well worth it. Print cartridges are insanely over priced. This works for me. I have had this printer for 6 months. This is my 2nd one. The first one never broke. It just became outdated. I had it for 6 years. Best printers ever made. ... show more

I'm giving this one star only because there isn't a lower rating. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this product! I had a similar HP Printer/Scanner previously and bought this one only because I was sure they would have done the trouble shooting and made improvements. They have not. It frequently freezes up where the machine has to be turned off and unplugged to resume functions. I currently have something in the queue which will not print and will not cancel. Nothing else from the computer will print because the queue is blocking up everything for the past 4 days! I primarily use this product for work purposes, needing to print items attached to emails and to scan my completed work to the office. Right now I am completely stuck and will need to purchase another printer/scanner, hopefully of better quality. BTW, this unit is less than 5 months old. I also have the HP Smart but there is really no help available to fix the issues that I am having. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! ... show more
