I'm trying to find the best incubator for a 4H project, so I'm comparing this one with several others that I acquired. The control interface is easy and intuitive to use. I love that there is day a countdown timer. This timer allows you to remove the automatic turning grid three days before hatching to avoid breaking the chicks legs if they hatch too early. The design of the interior tray helps with both heat and humidity regulation by circulating humidified moist air and includes an external vent to help control the humidity. There is an external water tank that will keep the interior at the proper humidity level without disturbing the eggs. The LCD digital interface displays the temperature, the humidity , the number of days until hatching and and the number of minutes until the next egg turning occurs. There is a low temperature LED light to use to candle the eggs. "Candling" is the term you use when you hold a fertilized egg over a light to see the beginning development of the veins and embryo to make sure the egg was viable. The motor for the egg turning grid is almost silent unless you're listening for it. After hatching, this acts as a temperature controlled brooder to allow the chic to dry so it's safe to move them to a heated holding pen. Chicks should not be moved immediately after hatching until they are dry. I would recommend this incubator for anyone that is trying to hatch eggs for wither home or as a 4H project.

This incubator is eggselent!! The screen is bright and easy to read! Operation is simple and the manual is easy to understand. The lid is easy to remove and has legs that fold down, so it can be carefully propped when checking the eggs. The built-in candelling light is bright, making it great for checking the growth of chicks. The external water system allows me to control/adjust the humidity without disturbing the eggs. I like the adjustable tray slats because I can hatch various bird breeds with no issue. I highly recommend this model.
