If you're looking for a small scooter that's easy to get on/off, has a comfortable seat and controlled speeds around the neighborhood, give this one a look! Great Features: The seat is large and soft and can be adjusted to fit a variety of height people, my guess is about 4' 8" to about 6' tall. Seating height is personal preference but the listed weight limit is 220 pounds so it's likely not a good choice for taller/larger folks. Tires are 12" in diameter and required a little air out of the box. Also included is an AC transformer/charger and the charging port is conveniently located near the foot plate under the seat. The basket in the back is also a nice addition and is large enough for a groceries bag and maybe even a small pet. It has three speeds: W-walking speed, D-drive speed and S-Sporty speed. They can be selected by pressing repeatedly on the on/off switch but only when the brake lever is depressed. The walking speed is only a few mph and it's great to use when riding in crowded areas along with other people. It doesn't work so well when the scooter is on an incline. Drive speed bumps speeds things up and is good for casual driving around the neighborhood. Sporty speed allows the scooter to attain it's maximum speed of 16 mph which still feels very safe. Not so good: One thing I'm not crazy about is the braking system. This scooter uses a drum brake in the front wheel only and it's of good quality and works great. The problem is that's it's the only brake. Front wheels lock up during hard braking causing the bike the rider to lose control and slide, especially in wet conditions. Bottom Line: This scooter is lots of fun and is made for someone who wants to use it for neighborhood jaunts and chores and isn't concerned about speed. I like the fact it has the "walking speed" setting and think that will come in handy especially at events, flea markets and when walking with friends. My recommendation is to always use a helmet and be careful when using the (front) brake especially on wet surfaces. ... show more

    • Fun to ride and keeps going even though I'm at the absolute top of it's weight limit
This thing is fun to ride and has features that actually make it useful. The battery has lasted at least three hours of intermittent riding, but I haven't tried to push it further than that because I'm never on it that long. Because of the seat and basket, I wouldn't say that folding the handlebars is very useful but it's a feature that it has whether you need it or not. It has held up great to my use and I have gotten a lot of distance out of it even though I'm at the very top of its weight limit. It was easy to assemble for the most part. However, the seat does not want to stay up. Despite tightening it in all the ways I could think of it would slide down even when my son who is only 120 pounds sat on it. I eventually wrapped a strip of 3M outdoor double-sided tape to each post then tightened it and now it will stay up. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I live 4 miles away from work and wanted an alternate commuting option faster than walking. This Hover-1 Alpha cargo scooter got my attention. The cargo basket is perfect, it allows me to stow my lunch and work bag. Battery life is sufficient to get me from home to work and back! The scooter has 4 operating modes: E, D, S, and walk. The walk mode is manual and does not use power, it goes as fast as you can move your legs! The other 3 modes use the motor. E mode has a top speed of 8 MPH, D modes top speed is 12 MPH, and S mode tops out at 16 MPH. The scooter cruises effortlessly when powered by the motor. The scooter folds which make it compact for storage. It is not easy to carry in the folded position since the handlebar does not lock and moves around when carrying it. It would be A LOT less cumbersome if the handlebar locked when it is in the folded position. The scooter required assembly of the front wheel and cargo basket before use. All the tools needed for assembly were included and it was easy. I was glad that I check both tires, they were at 12 PSI and need to be inflated to 40 PSI. Other features that I like about this scooter is that the throttle is a twist style, it has cruise control, the kick stand is sturdy and works well, there is a loud bell to alter others of your presence, and a battery charger with a 93-inch-long cord. My only complaint with this scooter is that the seat spindles tend to slip. This slippage causes the seat to slide down when you are riding the scooter. Height of the seat is set by tightening a locking sleeve on each spindle. Each locking sleeve has 3 socket head screws that are 5 MM size. No matter how tight I get each screw, the seat slips when I ride it. My only solution right now is to carry a 5 MM Allen wrench with me when I am riding the scooter. If the seat slips, I must stop, readjust the seat, and tighten the socket head screws. The seat design is very hard to adjust and not very reliable, so I am giving the scooter 4 stars. Everything else about the scooter is great and overall, I am happy with it. ... show more

This is a really good scooter that has a lot of power. I like the seat and basket feature which makes it nice when going to the park with the kids. It's easy to fold and I often take it to the office to get around town. It's definitely worth the money.

Likes: aesthetically it looks good. Easy setup for most of it (seat is another story, see below for review). Charge is decent thus far. (Make sure you read the instructions for battery life. ) Speed is fun. It gets up and goes. Dislikes: sloppy welding job on parts (as seen in photo). Threads for screws/bolts were not all done properly and we have screws that don’t go in. Luckily where they had the mistakes at for the screws, were not all in one place so it’s still usable. The seat. The seat install requires an impact gun. The seat does not adjust, even though it claims to. It has one height and that is the very bottom of the brackets. It does not hold up any weight, from our 120lbs daughter and younger son, it does not hold any weight, thus your arms are up higher than shoulder height which makes it awkward to ride any distance. Really has potential if they correct these flaws. ... show more
