I liked the look of the light up keypad of this model, and needed smartlock for the airbnb business. Having smartlocks has been perfection, being able to set the guests pin, between the checkin and checkout dates, is what we needed (no more lost keys, handing keys over and all that). Eventually we even use Jervis/ttlock to have to automatically set pins for guests. Japanese doors are not the standards that these locks work for, so we just hired our builder to install them. Went from 5 to 4 stars as you need the wifi module separately, hopefully in future they will be integrated. I hope they bring out newer stylish models, keeping an eye out. ... show more

I have had this lock for over a year now and would like to leave a review for those who might be in the market for a new lock. Look and feel This lock looked great and felt great from the moment I opened the package to assembly. It's no iPhone packaging but I was quite impressed. The installation instruction was easy to follow and it took me about 30 minutes to replace my previous lock. It came with most things I needed except for the drill :). Gateway and the mobile app I bought the lock with the gateway so I could manage the lock(s) remotely. The gateway was easy to set up and with the iPhone app (I believe Android app is also available) I was able to create permanent keys as well as temporary keys with expiration dates. The app has a lot of functionalities that I haven't had time to explore them all. I got all I need without investing too much time learning all the features. Functional As much as I was impressed with all the hi-tech features, at the end of the day, I was buying a lock and this lock had all basic things I was looking for. It's solid and looks pretty hard to break in. It came with a deadbolt which was what I wanted for the front door. I felt pretty safe with it. Durability While reviews for other locks in the market seem to complain that hi-tech locks eats up batteries quickly, I am happy to say that is not my case (knock on woods). I have had this lock for over a year now and I have not had a need to change out the batteries. Another win here. All and all, I am happy with this lock and wouldn't mind buying it again should I have a need for another one. ... show more

The set up is simple and easy. There's nothing complicated about it. It's stayed connected every since I've set it up. The only issue is that I can only work with it up close. I have Alexa on my phone, but it doesn't recognize the command when I'm outside of the house.

I bought and installed this deadbolt for my mother who is suffering with memory loss. She has locked herself out numerous times and now with this lock I no longer have to take a 20 min drive to let her in. Can unlock her house whenever she calls. She looses the keys or forgets the code but knows she can call me an I can get her back in. Gives us peace of mind. Can see this also being great for airbnb. You can leave a key for person inside your unit and just unlock it for them upon their arrival. Can use your phone, key or elect6key card to unlock this lock. If need tech support ask for Nancy. This lock is so easy to install and use. We have been using it since 2021. It has various settings which ensure safety . Battery life is durable . This has been life savor for our family where we can let her kids to use it safely too. The lock’s performance has been very consistent. No issues so far. Recently, we had a question and called customer service and Nancy did a great job of answering all the questions . That was greatly helpful .     • This ain't it...

The media could not be loaded. Yeah.... This ain't it. That was my final thought after installation. The kit is great because it comes with a lot of quality tools to help you install this correctly. Installation manual was pretty well done -not perfect but still helpful. I think in its quest to fit as many doors as it can (left handed or right handed), it falls short of operating as well as it should. For example, the deadbolt itself doesn't retract inward all the way when unlocking. Not that it's been a problem in unlocking my door, if I'm being honest, but I'm always concerned that one day it won't unlock (or lock) properly if the deadbolt doesn't fully retract (or extend). It could be the day I leave the house in a hurry, and that's when sh#t happens, doesn't it? Pessimism aside, I decided to compare the inner workings of this smart lock with my last one. This is what I figured out, and I'll try and add pics to help explain what I'm talking about: The cam slot of this smart lock might be too large, so the cam bar doesn't fit snugly as it should. Think about when you grab the thumbturn to lock the deadbolt inside the house before you go to bed. The cam bar rotates the cam slot, which extends the deadbolt out to lock the door. Now imagine the cam bar was skinny and doesn't grip the cam slot so well, so you don't get to fully rotate the cam slot and extend OR retract the deadbolt all the way. So, sometimes, when I'm locking the deadbolt inside the house, I gotta grip the thumbturn hard to lock the door. It's like the thumbturn is stuck because the cam bar is too skinny to fully fit the cam slot, so it requires more force then necessary to rotate the cam slot and extend the deadbolt. Bottom line: The cam bar needs to be thicker to properly fit the cam slot. You can see how the deadbolt is already sticking out in the first second of my video, and the locking motion is not smooth. As for the other features: • The fingerprint reader is fast and great as long as you really place your finger on the reader. You can't touch it lightly, swipe the fingerprint reader, or put only half of your fingertip on it. • Unlocking by Bluetooth is slow and very limited in distance from the door, which makes it completely useless. • Yes, as others here have discovered, you need a hub to connect this lock to Google Home or Alexa. Otherwise, you can't unlock this door for your mother-in-law while you're out of town, for example. You are given two fobs, however, to give away for any family member who can't be bothered with to remember your house PIN. Overall, despite the nice materials, easy installation, and "features", I can't recommend this for anyone's home. All smart features aside, the number one thing this lock should provide along with all others of its kind is SECURITY, and this product falls short of reasonably providing security. ... show more

Easy to install and convenient to use when needing to allow multiple people access to your home while still keeping it secure. Providing different codes and changing is simple there’s even a log of when a code is entered. The use of the app allows you to remotely lock or unlock the door as well.
